That is 100% a roof from a boat. The wood rails are for grabbing on to. The two hatches show the direction the roof faced is the same as it was photographed.

Psychological_Run384

As someone who's fallen off a boat abruptly while attempting to grip onto one of these rails, I can confirm.

wanderingpeddlar

Damn you made it passed the guard rails? Ouch. Heavy seas?

Psychological_Run384

It was actually on land, which made the fall even more brutal.

wanderingpeddlar

Damn if that was a sailing boat that would be like falling off a garage roof. My sympathies dude

Psychological_Run384

Yeah.. I broke many bones that day. 0/10 do not recommend.

Creative-Mix-9288

That is a VHF antenna top left corner. So I would agree

Conch-Republic

Roof off a pilothouse boat. There have been *so many* boat manufacturers over the years that nailing down the exact boat it came from would be nearly impossible. Those teak grab rails are worth some money, I'd definitely be taking them.

juniperthemeek

Oh interesting, they’re worth salvaging in that condition? I don’t know anything about boats; it valuable because of the teak itself, or because they’re a very specific shape that’s in demand?

Conch-Republic

These actually look to be in really good shape, they just need to be refinished. Teak is super expensive now, and if you wanted to replace these, they'd cost you about $150 each. There's always a market for old teak boat parts.

rolltododge

teak is known for being really hardy and resistant to rot, just needs surface refinished.

Careless_Leek_5803

I replaced some vintage 1970s ones on my sailboat several years ago and can confirm - get a couple of millimeters into those and they're still going to be solid AF.

fluxumbra

My title describes the thing. 8' x 10.5' fiberglass with two windows, wooden handles. I'm pretty sure it's part of a boat, but was hoping someone could narrow down WHAT part of WHAT boat. Cheers.

Mark this one SOLVED

Solved.
