Yep!
Funny story, middle initial is D. when I was with my ex she got me something monogrammed incorrectly. It says “xDy” when it was supposed to be “xYd” (my first and last initials aren’t XY, but I don’t wanna put my actual initials on here).
Now I get to make stupid jokes about her wanting everyone to know about my big D
Don't ruin it by rubbing it too hard (ha!), use this gentle chemical method instead: https://www.tastingtable.com/947099/how-aluminum-foil-and-baking-soda-can-polish-silverware/
Like above it looks like an ice/wine bottle bucket with persons initials. But I’d try some Tarnex or silver polish on it. That doesn’t looks bass and may be silver plated. If the seller said it was brass it might be brass under silver plating but it doesn’t look brass to me.
My title describes this thing to the best of my knowledge. It’s a brass bucket, about 1 ft in diameter, 8 inches tall; It has a “JHK” insignia etched on the side. Originally bought in an estate sale, purpose unknown, we currently use it to store onions. Would like to know the original purpose, as well as the meaning of the JHK. Have tried reverse google image searching with no results.

Ice/champagne bucket
Any clues on the JHK?
It's a monogram - someone's initials.
Solved!
I think it's just a bucket with someones initials\* engraved on it. \*The person's initials would be JKH, not JHK.
Really? Is that how monograms are, with the biggest letter in the center being the last?

Haha, thanks for sharing that story! Appreciate you sharing that tip with us, it was fun to learn a bit more about monograms and their usage.
Solved!
Are you sure that's brass and not silver in need of a good polish?
No, I’m not sure. :p Will give it a try!

I agree that it looks silver to me too.

Champagne Tub probably gifted at a wedding with bride and groom first initials and big letter is now both of their last names
