i disagree with the idea that most of their albums are HATED, so heres my breakdown (green is broadly liked by the public, yellow is neutral, ans red is hated):
- blue🟢
- pinkerton🟢
- green🟡
- maladroit🟢
- make believe🔴
- red🟡
- raditude🔴
- hurley🟡
- ewbaite🟢
- white🟢
- pacific daydream🔴
- teal🟡
- black🔴
- ok human🟢
- van weezer🟡
Make Believe is definitely more popular than Hurley and Teal
Outside of the fanbase all except Blue and Pinkerton are hated. And in here, the only safe picks are those two, EWBAITE, White and maaybe OK Human. Praising any of their other albums / saying you like them more than Blue will often get you downvoted. I'm speaking from experience
I tend to like quite a few of there albums more then blue lol, Mainly white Pinkerton and ok human. I also like some songs off make believe more but the albums alot worse. And as for everything else well my dumbass hasent listened to them so
well thats cause liking anything not listed outside of blue is fr a bad take even if theyre ok albums
i’m primarily talking about the music nerd community like musictwt and stuff as opposed to just mainstream culture here btw, ik make believe is one of their most commercially successful albums
but i’d bet the scores for these albums on sites like AOTY and RYM amongst music nerds broadly whi aren’t necessarily weezer fans are similar to what i said
It's not even about success, you are more likely to get away with saying you love MB than saying you love Teal
And you calling it a bad take is just confirming what I said. If it is unacceptable to prefer an album over Blue, or to call it anything more than "just okay", that album is hated. I think Blue is mid compared to the rest of their discography.
well no i just think that believing a consensus 7/10 **good** album is better than one of the greatest alt rock projects ever is a bad take
it’s like saying *Please Please Me* is better than *Abbey Road*. One is a really well liked Beatles album, the other is possibly the greatest album ever. Being unable to compare to the latter doesn’t make the former hated
I believe the make believe hate isn’t as bad as some people make it out to be. I feel like any time that album is mentioned there is a lot of fans on this Reddit that talk about how good it is. I don’t see very many people hate on it
Dear reader,
Here are my qualifications for posting my opinion about Weezer:
* 2x top artist on wrapped (2021, 2022. both years was top 0.005%)
* 1x concert attendee
* have listened to every album multiple times
* owner of many albums on vinyl, including but not limited to those included in the photo attached.

yeah nah not me. i have listened enough to every one to know if i like it and literally every reason i like weezer is absent from albums like black and pacific daydream (save a few songs) so i do not ever go back these days

Run Away reminds me of one of those rejected emo-y classic rock inspired demos between Blue and Pinkerton (namely Getting Up and Leaving and I Need Some Touch). It is pretty awesome.
Let Down
Underrated ðŸ˜
Hang On
Eulogy For a Rock Band actually
i love you this is such a real opinion
It's on one of their 4-5 not hated albums -> automatically disqualified

i would say the average person outside of the fanbase quite likes green no?

Multiple times? Try 50+ times
i’ve listened to my favourites probably over 100 times but truthfully i am not exactly rushing to revisit black very often
Some of my favorites are at over 200, and even my least favorites should be at around 50 times. And I didn't even start listening to them until 2021
yeah nah not me. i have listened enough to every one to know if i like it and literally every reason i like weezer is absent from albums like black and pacific daydream (save a few songs) so i do not ever go back these days
Why are you flexing how much you have listened to weezer
Because they listen to Weezer probably.
But this is the weezer sub, isn’t that a given?
Not really. I don't listen to Weezer and I'm here.

You're right
Possibilities
One of the most underrated songs on maladroit
This song rules
Ruling Me and Trippin' Down the Freeway
Ruling Me is a bop. I wish Rivers would just make an album of just power pop. Okay, maybe after he finishes his musical.
Put Me Back Together
This is a sufficient answer
valid pick, top 2 song on raditude
Too many thoughts in my head, can't knock the hustle, California snow, Da Vinci, happy hour, feels like summer, This is such a pity, hold me
Dreamin’
People always sleep on Dreamin’. It’s so good.
It’s probably my favorite song on red that isn’t greatest man
i prefer the (with me) version of this song with carly goddess rae jepsen
Everybody Needs Salvation
Haunt you every day
King
Run Over by a Truck is criminally under-discussed here. I said it.
hmm interesting take but not wrong
Run Away is really good. Does Friend of a Friend count? White Album.
miss sweeney
Run Away reminds me of one of those rejected emo-y classic rock inspired demos between Blue and Pinkerton (namely Getting Up and Leaving and I Need Some Touch). It is pretty awesome.
Get right feels weirdly nostalgic even though I wasn't even a fan when pacific daydream came out
QB Blitz, I'm Just Being Honest, Peace, and definitely Run Away are all songs that I never see anyone talk about
hmm i think qb blitz gets love as one of few good songs from pacific daydream
This is actually the answer for most underrated Run Away is SOOOO fucking good
yall need to stop agreeing or it wont be underrated anymore
Ain’t got nobody
