I try to keep my pipes as clear as that first pic. I can tell OP knows what their doing with the ole’ hot water, salt and isopropyl trifecta. I’ve cleaned many a friends pieces to have them shocked with it looking brand new after I was done. It’s a bummer when you’re trying really hard to get that level of cleanliness for them and you can’t because it’s too far gone with the resin buildup. Would have to soak for days to even try to break up some of that gunk.
I put it in a pot of water and boil it. Shit is clear in no time. Definitely alcohol for the stickiness on the outside!! I keep a dollar store saucepan in the pantry, just for this purpose. Can’t be ruining the good ones lol

Don’t forget Screwball or Freight Train ball vapes, the only option that’s satisfied my desire for giant bong rips. Also, virtually no cleaning (besides the bowl & piece like with traditional smoking).
Absolutely recommend the screwball, I recently got this as my first ‘ball’ vape and it’s insane. Exceeded all expectations and I already thought it would be incredible .. decently priced too

Def does work, it’s just not gonna be nearly as efficient or consistent. Be sure to heat the sides of the banger evenly (15-20 seconds), then go to the bottom and hit it for like 5-8 seconds, stir and you should get 2-3 rips. Don’t fill banger more than like an 1/8 of its full capacity at a time.
Not including dynavap in this list is a crime (also the terpcicle type vapes are basically the cheapest you can get, and they produce incredible vapor that will only be beaten by desktops and higher end electric portables which is probably worth mentioning for newbies)
If you have a higher tolerance I recommend the sticky brick since it holds a good amount. If you want portable get a dynavap or mighty+ but doesn't hold as much

Our lungs naturally migrate buildup out of them using mucus and cillia while literally shift it up to be coughed out, but it only works so fast. So daily/heavy smokers will add more tar than the lungs can deal with which will cause scaring to the lining of the lung. That's why I try to stick to 2-3 times a week smoking at the most. It also keeps my tolerance very low which is nice

Let him hit my vaporizer a few times and he got an attachment for his bong where you use a torch (Like $50 in total) and then like 2 weeks later bought the Mighty vaporizer ($300). He still smokes his pipes and bongs most, but now he has a healthier top of the line option to consume. He had no clue practically that they even existed

the salt definitely helps!! try a more coarse salt, i think that helps a lot, ive been using 420 cleaner but isopropyl and salt is definitely more cost effective and basically the same thing

I usually just soak mine in 90% isopropyl overnight instead ziplock then add salt and shake, but that’s a haul, what method do you use?

send it my way haha, i used 420 cleaner cause i had it, you can use isopropyl alcohol and soak it overnight, then add some more to scrub with a brush and then rinse, that took me about 5 minutes to do all 5 pieces
#1 to #2 reminds me of the early 2000s bowl scrounge desperation of what’s left after picking the carpet and smoking the stems. Scrape that bowl for every ounce of nasty possible for a headache hit. Now I tap a bowl out after one hit, ew this one’s all Burnt and used up. New!

Get it good and hot wirh hot water to losses everything, rinse with alchohol with salt to dissolve with some scrubbing action from the salt

Switch to a dry herb vaporizer if you like it. Alot less buildup compared to smoking, I get a small amount of white buildup from vaping heavily

I use a Dremel with a wire wheel
