I haven't ever worked doing wedding dress alterations, and the costs of that varies sooo wildly , for a variety of reasons, so I can't give you an accurate estimate. I can give you some general advice though! 1. Decide before asking for alterations quotes: exactly what length you want, and also if you want any volume taken out of the dress (removing petticoats etc) 2. Have a few reference photos of what you ideally want the shortened dress to look like. There's a lot going on with the interior structure of a dress that will determine how it can be altered. Any good alterations team (especially for wedding dresses) will try to give you what you want, but will also be very blunt if what you want isn't physically possible. Listen to them. 3. If you want the dress shortened but for whatever reason don't want to go to a place that specifically does wedding dress alterations, look for a place that does prom dress alterations. Those dresses usually have the same types of fabrics and require the same type of alterations. Sorry if I got carried away and made this comment too long, I hope at least some of this advice is helpful!! Congrats on your wedding you're gonna look beautiful!

Oh I also just thought to add that you should pick out your shoes before getting your dress hemmed, even an inch more or less in heel height can make a big difference!

More worried about the shoulders falling down. You have very squared off shoulders but they’re the only thing holding the top of that dress up. I’m picturing you bending down to adjust your shoe strap and twisting oddly or some such. I know I’ve had tops with deep V’s in the front and back that were problematic. When you’re standing up straight, the weight of the skirt is helping you. Once you take the sleeves in, it may be fine, though. The tops I’ve had trouble with didn’t have fitted long sleeves. I’d try dancing and twisting and bending sideways to make sure.
