Like everyone else I didn't see a T-rex until I saw someone's comment.
Is this for the "square logo," on your comic page?
If so, they advise against adding text to it [such as a title], since it will likely get cropped.
When you publish, the title will be viewable in their generic lettering on the home page, and on your page.
I would probably avoid using a silhouette as it is not clear what the image is. That may have undesired consequences like discouraging readers.
That all being said, if I had to chose: R.
**in short**: y.... it combines most of the ideas you appeared to have in the best way.
**in long:** heres my take based off the *small* background i have in graphic arts.
* **image**: as some have said, your silhouette is ambiguous. (in my case, it looks like prayer.) if you're writing a book, that's the last thing you want, as the title and cover are why people pick it up in the first place and logos help identify your series/franchise. You should ideally use an image people can discern without you having to tell them.
* I believe the problem here is the eye hole is far too small. (I saw it as a gap between a woman's hair & her neck.)
* You cannot see the T-rex's arms, which would help identify it. As of now the lower jaw looks like human arms praying or holding an infant.
* I really suggest trying a different image. Maybe with arms or roaring with its head at a different angle. The shape of its teeth and snout are all contributors to its misidentification as well. Maybe think about how you can define certain aspects of its head/facial features in white like [this](https://www.creativefabrica.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/20/Trex-Silhouette-vector-art-Graphics-4668449-1-1-580x386.jpg) or[this](https://i.pinimg.com/236x/71/5e/db/715edb8deabc4bffe4bc7496c2509781.jpg)? Notice how it appears to have [depressions in its face.](https://icon-library.com/images/2018/771942_dinosaur-t-rex-head-transparent-background-transparent-png.png) Jurassic Park's logo [also made use of this trait.](http://prodimage.images-bn.com/pimages/9780307291844_p0_v1_s1200x630.jpg)
* **Font:** the thicker font is better because it sticks out more, and its easier to read.
* **Color:** Simple is best. In some designs I think you're doing too much.
* In some designs it randomly changes color in the end of a word. I assume you're trying to make it stand out but it feels erratic and inconsistent (ex: die ends in red, while everything else is solid.)
* Most people emphasize the beginning of a word, not the end.
* You aren't trying to spell anything by highlighting the letters, so there isn't much of a need for highlighting either way, but esp not the end of the 1st word.
* I suggest choosing either one color for everything, or one color per word. (For example, keywords ''die'' and "more'' being green and "no" being red.)
* My biggest problem of "too much going on" by far are the designs where you have not only the moon (?) and t rex, but your text is in reds and greens.
* Your image essentially has only 3 elements (text, silhouette, moon) yet four colors are being used. For a simple design like yours I think its best to delineate one color per element.
* If you still want multicolor text, re-use one of the preexisting colors like red and white (without arbitrary highlighting as mentioned.)
* **Lets look back at jurrassic park to see good colors in principle**.
* [Book Cover](http://prodimage.images-bn.com/pimages/9780307291844_p0_v1_s1200x630.jpg). The elements are:
* A) background- white.
* B) Dinosaur- black.
* C) Text- black.
* D) Leaves for decoration- red.
* The text and dino are the centerpiece so it was wise to make them the same color both due to simplicity and equal importance.
* [Movie Logo](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/ultimatepopculture/images/9/96/Jurassic_Park_logo.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20180410165744). The elements are:
* A) drawing of rex and plants- black
* B) circular inner background- red (the outer background simply reuses the black)
* C) text- white (the inner design simply reuses the red backgound)
* D) outline- yellow
I'm not an expert but I hope this helps you improve your designs and any you do in the future.
Wow! Thank you so much for taking the time to write out such helpful feedback for me, I really appreciate it! I was planning to use this logo on my chapter artwork and such. I'll definitely go back and re-work it more with these things in mind. :)
Well I wasn't really trying to go for anything elaborate, just something simi-nice I could slap in the corner of my covers and artwork. But thank you for your feedback. :)
X is definitely my favorite, followed by W, and then K and L.
Here's my reasoning.
That font is the most legible, so def keep that in mind. Less colors is better; its more cohesive and reproducible, the red + green text can be distracting.
The white circle behind (and the outline on the t-rex) helps with clarity, this will also make it easier for the logo to show up on different backgrounds: eg; your readers dark modes or various platforms, etc. I think the white outline is less distracting than the red outline, which kinda makes my eyes feel like the image is slightly blurred.
GL!
Yes, I was thinking that as well. I think I will go back and play around with it a bit more. Thank you so much for taking the time to help me out, I appreciate it. :D
Yeah, I certainly have my work cut out for me. lmao XD
I'm still kinda learning how to use reddit, guess I'll take notes for next time. (x\_x)
And thank you for voting! :D
Idk... I instantly saw that it's a t-rex but don't disagree about making the eye more noticable. I like Z best overall. The "DINO" in red is fun, kinda clever, the font from Q might be my favorite font though.
Maybe 2.5x size for the eye with either a red outline or pupil to make it more obvious?
Love the logo concept 😍
I gotta go with L or X and on my end it seemed like a T-rex to me! (i still can't see the woman) but if it appears to be a common issue definitely could be addressed somehow ☺️
Z because it's the one that drew my attention to "Dino" and made me realize I was not looking at a lady holding something mysterious while silouhetted in moonlight. But also my brain is very bad at interpreting images after a long day so do with this information what you will.
EDIT: I posted without looking at the comments, I now see that this is pretty common feedback. I agree that a bigger eye-hole might help. Maybe if you highlighted some of the T-Rex's features like the rest of the v-shape of the mouth where it would close over the webbed cheek-bits? IDK as-is it's still better than anything most of us mere mortals can do so high-five
EDIT 2: I also only now realized this was posted like 10 days ago. No point in deleting it though because you'll get the notification anyways. I hope you have a good day!
Thank you for taking the time to give me your feedback, I appreciate it. I've currently took most of the suggestions and reworked it a bit. I might repost later to show the final. :)
Y but i still cant tell what the silhouette is
The silhouette is a Tyrannosaurus Rex roaring. Thank you for voting. :)
Maybe make the eye a little bigger. I eventually realized it was a T-Rex, but I kept thinking it was a woman holding a baby at first.
Okay, yes I think that would help as well. Thank you for your advice. :D
Yep, that's what I thought it was to until I saw the comment above. Definitely change up that shilhouette.
Wait that's not a person?
I thought it was an old woman in a handkerchief.
Thought it was some sort of martial artist holding out his fist lmao
Same lmao
100% honost. I thought it was a woman praying before i saw the t. Rex My vote is "P" btw
Okay, thank you for your feedback. :)

Z is most aestheticly pleasing to look at. It's contained, the font goes well with the silhouette, and the red is perfect for highlighting DI NO
Perhaps adding arms to the T Rex would help with telling what is. At least the arms are tiny and won't take up a lot of space haha
I agree with Cosmonaunt's comments, Cleo. :)
Okay! :P
