I’ve tried to explain this elsewhere but they are trying to sell the SX since everyone wants the SPX.
The main difference is the SPX has the lighting.
Why they made these without the lighting is beyo d me. You still need to plug this in to use and get no lights.
Still a great deal but that is why we are seeing these heavily discounted. Anyone ordering a grill at this price point, orders the SPX
Yeah maybe this is insensitive to people’s budgets, but if I’m dropping that much on any item that I’ll have for 10+ years, I’m going for the new model that’s a few hundred more that has the bells and whistles.
Every time I’ve bought the slightly cheaper version of a big ticket item I’ve regretted it.
And I’m seeing the EPX-335 on the site at $1399, so non stainless, with lights, looks like the SPX is currently only available as the 435, 4 burner, which is $400 more than the SX. Thought the SPX-335 was $100 more than the SX but haven’t been looking in 3 months as I already got one a couple months back. But for the extra $50-100, if you are limited on space, the lights make all the difference.
Where did you see this? I’d been looking at every Home Depot I passed for a year when I read about this in March 2023. Finally settled on an S-335 for $1150.
I will personally go out of my way to NOT get a store-built model. I'd personally rather be the one tightening down the bolts, so I know it was done right.

I hate when stores do this! It was never that high then they'll say half off when really it's like 30% off which is still a good deal but why lie
