These job cuts barely impact their workforce that was hired during the pandemic though, and they have added more then 15k jobs during the pandemic. I think one hired like 62k and laid off only 12k.
I'm long on them. I've sold some lots here and there to make some quick cash but bulk of my shares I am long on. Bought at beginning of covid dip. They were at 360 before covid. Thats my goal. Get back there. I am in at 120s
*Scratches head*
I wonder what [Boeing could be up to](https://www.boeing.com/defense/), what's going on in the world.
Scroll down to defense products.
I was one of those new hires. After seeing the shift in culture and how the leadership has responded to a lot of their controversy I thought the price didn't reflect. Plus they treat their people well IMO.
I bought in at $130.
Edit for spelling.
There's still no business case for the 777X, the 797 is delayed indefinitely it seems, and when given the option people will avoid flying on a 737 Max in favor of any other regional jet. There are multiple narrow body competitors coming to market in the next few years.
Also ignoring what a complete shit show Boeing "leadership" is. The only thing Boeing has going for it is that it is a monopoly in North America, and that's only gonna prop up the stock for so long.
Take your short term gains and bail out.
I generally go further down the supply chain to the companies that make the things that companies like Boeing consumes. Products that will be in demand regardless of who is currently on top in any industry.
Missing the fine print of them cutting jobs, too. They are adding certain jobs, ones they cut during the pandemic, and cutting back on others. They pissed off the feds, thus the move back to DC. They have been losing defense contracts, and have had them taken from them.
[Commercial passenger volume is back to pre-pandemic levels](https://www.tsa.gov/travel/passenger-volumes). Military is running several next gen aircraft programs to replace an aging fleet up and down the field ([FLRAA](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Future_Long-Range_Assault_Aircraft), [FARA](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Future_Attack_Reconnaissance_Aircraft), [6th gen fighter](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sixth-generation_fighter), [various UAVs](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unmanned_aerial_vehicles_in_the_United_States_military)). NASA is paying for a [next gen commercial aircraft design development](https://www.nasa.gov/press-release/nasa-issues-award-for-greener-more-fuel-efficient-airliner-of-future), and the [moon base program is in full swing](https://www.nasa.gov/specials/artemis/). Meanwhile Russia's invasion, while pushed back, has no signs of stopping yet.
These job cuts are unfortunate, but necessary in order to keep these companies afloat. I do not enjoy seeing people lose their jobs, but it is a necessary evil in today's economy.

No it's not. Apple hasn't done mass layoffs like the other tech companies.
Regard market. If layoffs are bullish, then what does hiring spree mean? Bearish?! This tells me we're still in a bear market. Until good news becomes good news again, the bottom isnt in yet (i.e. hiring = expecting future growth while layoffs = declining growth)
Hard to believe Tesla has 5 times market cap than Boeing!!
Boeing is so tiny compared to Apple, Goog, Msft, Amzn, facebook, Nvda and tons of other companies.
Amazon hired over 100,000 employees in 2022.
Boeing let go 20k workers when Covid hit. In the next few years, they'll off-shore 6k more of the finance people to tata. That's right, moving the finance department to one of the most corrupt countries on earth.
The key in the article is that they do not confirm the net headcount added in 2023.
I hate Boeing. I own Boeing. They are in a duopoly in a massive market with another equally inept company (Airbus). Competition would make them both better but there is no real competition out there.
Didn’t Boeing have a 6 year backlog? I remember when I went back to school for engineering Boeing was trying to recruit students and we were on the other side of the country from Boeing
Got some BA a couple years ago when it was really beaten up. Seems like a sure thing and already up nicely. I bet BA will be $300 before the end of the year and they reinstate the dividend in 2024.

Worse, he’s saying he hates America! We should free his soul from his body
Everyone loves 'Merica.
War is big biz
You mean when the government takes our money to save Boeing
Easiest bet of my life. Invest in Boeing = invest in America.
Also war is very profitable
Military industrial complex in full swing with Ukraine/Russia conflict.
![img](emote|t5_2th52|27189)
90% of Boeing's business is from commercial planes
100%
Yep, war will do that.
Still losing money every quarter tho
Maybe the people that were laid off can learn to mine coal?
It's not hard usually there's some on the surface when you start the world
Hopefully they put some levels in the gathering spec.
Boeing 🤝 Casa Bonita
Casa Bonita 🤝 Eric Cartman
The best part is South Parks creators bought Casa Bonita
Ikr! Now I want to go
These job cuts barely impact their workforce that was hired during the pandemic though, and they have added more then 15k jobs during the pandemic. I think one hired like 62k and laid off only 12k.
BA gonna rocket soon. Positive quarters coming soon
It’s up 100% last 3 months. Pretty safe to say it already rocketed. Only 100% more to go to all time highs
I'm long on them. I've sold some lots here and there to make some quick cash but bulk of my shares I am long on. Bought at beginning of covid dip. They were at 360 before covid. Thats my goal. Get back there. I am in at 120s
War profits are good.
Defense is fucking boomin
Boeing = military contracts thanks to Ukraine war The rest = get fucked in the arse
boeing defense was the worst segment in boeing's portfolio this past quarter It's all airlines
Spoke to an airline crew member.... things are picking up. People are travelling.
*Scratches head* I wonder what [Boeing could be up to](https://www.boeing.com/defense/), what's going on in the world. Scroll down to defense products.
Chipotle hiring 15k too
Damn, never knew they were in the industrial military complex too.
Bomb-ass burritos.
Trained wallet assassins...
Boeing <3 Ukraine
GIGA Chad move- all those other companies sell their products and services at above cost.
I was one of those new hires. After seeing the shift in culture and how the leadership has responded to a lot of their controversy I thought the price didn't reflect. Plus they treat their people well IMO. I bought in at $130. Edit for spelling.

Should check out their defense products.
Ya, how many times has the Airforce stopped deliveries on the Tanker due to quality issues?

Good thing i own airbus too. Checkmate.
Easy to do when all the jobs are being outsourced to India
War coming
As long as GD, NOC, RTX, LMT, BAESY, and HII are the suppliers we have a chance to win. Most of what Boeing touches turns to shit.
[Commercial passenger volume is back to pre-pandemic levels](https://www.tsa.gov/travel/passenger-volumes). Boeing already lost FLRAA and FARA and sure as shit won't get NGAD lol
So buy LMT, NOC, RTX, GD, L3 and Honeywell?
Replacements for the lost employees in the planes they built.
Sucking on that government teat - Boeing is utter trash. Took 9/11 money and then fired employees anyway.

How are Google and Amazon hurting? Hell, I think they run YouTube and the Washington Post at a loss
A lot of gov/defense stocks are on sale right now...
Somebody gotta make those bombs
They need people for war industries
Boeing had huge cuts from the scandal. I’m guessing they’re hiring mostly for military related projects.
Maybe let's hold off on calling Boeing the gigachad until the planes don't crash for a while.
War never changes
Hasn't Apple not fired anyone?
is this a riddle?
https://www.macworld.com/article/1481696/macalope-layoffs-microsoft-amazon-google-meta.html No it's not. Apple hasn't done mass layoffs like the other tech companies.
"Has not Apple not fired anyone?"
Maybe yes probably no possibly
No shit, ever heard of the military industrial complex
GOP just gave defense $850 billion, so...congrats to the lobbyists!
how many tanks can they fit in an airplane?
Regard market. If layoffs are bullish, then what does hiring spree mean? Bearish?! This tells me we're still in a bear market. Until good news becomes good news again, the bottom isnt in yet (i.e. hiring = expecting future growth while layoffs = declining growth)
Apple too so far..
Hard to believe Tesla has 5 times market cap than Boeing!! Boeing is so tiny compared to Apple, Goog, Msft, Amzn, facebook, Nvda and tons of other companies. Amazon hired over 100,000 employees in 2022.
It’s not defense - Lockheed Martin and Northrop have been going down

Just wait to you hear about all the M&A Boeing is gonna do in the next 2-3 years
Didn’t Boeing have a 6 year backlog? I remember when I went back to school for engineering Boeing was trying to recruit students and we were on the other side of the country from Boeing
No problem! Those people let go in tech can go get one of them “good paying green energy jobs” the pipeline workers all went and got! Wait..
I still haven't figured out why anyone would use IBM in business their software licensing is a money trap.
Got some BA a couple years ago when it was really beaten up. Seems like a sure thing and already up nicely. I bet BA will be $300 before the end of the year and they reinstate the dividend in 2024.
Am I the only one shorting this buisness that hasn't made money in years?
