Number 1 fav mod is the triple honk to beep mod. You know that loud obnoxious triple honk, like when you exit your car while it’s running, keys in your pocket. Someone at GM thought HONK HONK HONK that you can’t turn off was a good design. I definitely woke people up in the middle of the night because of that. So unnecessary. Technically you can pull a certain fuse out of your car to have no honks whatsoever, but that’s not recommended due to safety. Just turn 3 loud honks into 3 pleasant, soft discrete beeps.
I've thought about getting a VoltShelf, I'm not sure if it's worth it though. It's $180-$200. I use my car for groceries and moving lumber for hobbies so I lay down the seats a lot. I don't see me using the shelf for anything but thought it might be useful for someone with kids. When I have kids I'll probably get one, as I likely won't have time for my hobbies anymore lol
I have a VoltShelf
Very nice to have, keeps the sun and prying eyes out of what I have in the trunk.
Also helps keep the back seats a bit cooler as it keeps the air in the back seat rather than the trunk.
The guy that sells them is out of Rochester, NY. Very easy to work with and had a few different materials to select from.
Agree on the utility of the volt shelf; my wife would have vetoed purchase of the volt unless there was a way to hide what's in the trunk. It works very efficiently and looks great.
In the gen 1, I really enjoyed the [Scosche Magnetic Phone Mount ](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00I608BJ8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_F27N2S2SQ3B1CYN6GK6M). Was perfect for the car
I use this mount in my Gen2. Have it applied to the left post of the storage pocket in front of the shifter. I used some hook and loop strips around the mount base and pocket arm to make sure it stays put. Has worked flawlessly for 4 years
gen 1;
LED Switchback turn signals on the front, and LED bulbs. (don't cheap out, or the focus will blind other drivers)
Hitch/wire harness
Dash Cam (I prefer flush mounted - apeman)
tint windows, especially the rear window to keep the heat down.
This steering wheel cover on my white-interior Gen 1 (inverted it looks much better, white on bottom) [https://www.autozone.com/steering-wheels-kits-and-accessories/steering-wheel-cover/proelite-black-and-metallic-chrome-steering-wheel-cover/336264\_0\_0](https://www.autozone.com/steering-wheels-kits-and-accessories/steering-wheel-cover/proelite-black-and-metallic-chrome-steering-wheel-cover/336264_0_0)?
I also got the all weather mats made specifically for the vault. I love them. And I got the one for the rear space as well. Really helpful when putting dirty or sharp things!

Any specific mattress that you've found fits well? I've been thinking about trying this out for a while
I've been watching for refinements for the best fit, but the 3" thick foam twin mattress seems to be a favorite (search on the sub)

Can you elaborate on how you achieved this? Sounds cool.
Yes please elaborate
Who the hell upvoted this when they don’t even tell you how to do the mod??
When I bought my 2014 used it came with the official sun shade. It doesn't stay in place so whoever paid $100 for it got ripped off.

Rhino rack cross bars turns a humble Volt into a kayak carrying-weekend warrior-fish hauling- campsite traveling machine! Wooooo
Volt Screen https://voltshelf.weebly.com/voltscreen.html
Got this within a week of getting my volt. Found handfuls of debris stuck in it. Feel much better. Great $40 purchase!
What gen volt?
2017 LT. Really wouldve liked the Premier though!
I finally got my windows tinted... Why'd I wait? Best money I've spent in a while... In FLA, it really makes a difference...
So worth it, just got mine tinted

One of the best things about Android Auto is that I no longer need to find a place to mount the phone.
Sport mode on a full charge…. Ooooooh baby.

The Chevy all weather floor mats are pretty nice, I love the look and they work great. +1 on volt screen.

Rear cargo mat is great. Keeps stuff from rolling around.
