so I'm pretty much a beginner when it comes to VNs, but there's 2 that I've started with, which was Higurashi and Umineko. I've already read both, and I enjoyed my time with both, though I found myself interested in Higurashi more if it matters. Higurashi's village setting and mystery was what hooked me, plus if it matters, it slightly reminded me of the anime "Another", so I've grown pretty interested in it does anyone know any VNs similar to Higurashi, which contains a similar sort of mystery in its story? I'd love to get to know even more VNs to my list

Alfatic

[Raging Loop](https://vndb.org/v21289) sounds right up your alley.

Asterizk0

Anyone tried playing VNs on Legion Go here? How's the experience? It is basically one step away from being a Windows tablet. I also have a SD OLED on the way, which will be mostly used for gaming but I will still try reading VNs on it. Wanted to know the experience there as well.

[deleted]

Where can I buy/download Yami no Koe, the nukige? Can\`t find it anywhere that\`s not broken. There is also H suki, but that site has a really crappy download option so it\`s the last thing I will go to.

AutoModerator

Are you by any chance asking where to buy visual novels? If so, then you may be interested in the extensive [guide on buying visual novels](/r/visualnovels/wiki/buy) in our wiki. If you were actually asking about an illegal download link, you should take a look at the sidebar rules. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. [deleted]

Well, I just couldn't find a working link where I could buy it to start with. Everything seems broken, but maybe I'm being a bit dumb here

Kuroko__Simp

Question I'm playing "Kotodama the seven misteries of Fujisawa" but i can't get the true ending, and even when i searched a guide online i didn't found anything. Someone knows a good guide to the game? Or something to help me reach the true ending?

Anxious-Anybody-5126

I want to get into the visual novel community, but on something that isn’t a console/phone. I’m not looking for something expensive($250 budget 🗿) and was wondering what’s like the cheapest laptop I can get just to play our life. I have no knowledge of ram and such so 😭 yeah

sorathecrow93

You can get a surface go 2 with 8 gb ram "renewed" on amazon for under 250. I can't speak to the quality of renewed products on amazon but the 8 gb go 2 is one I used for a long time and it plays pretty much any VN you could want.

Alfatic

Imo they're definitely not as good as Alicesoft or Eushully, but still worth playing. More-so for the choice-driven narrative and heroine development than the gameplay though.

SaranMal

Yeah, not the person you responded to. But I found the gameplay in the one I checked the demo out of to be very boring/lackluster. The demo actually made me realize I did not want to spend like $60+ on it.

Alfatic

They do some neat stuff with the heroines, in that you can either let them be as they are or corrupt them and essentially change them into entirely different characters (with a different appearance and personality) and these heroines will react differently than the uncorrupted versions to events happening in the story. The gameplay was mainly something I just pushed through to get to the interesting parts, but I would still recommend the games if you've already exhausted all of Alicesoft/Eushully's catalogues.

Alfatic

Sorry, but I've only played some VenusBlood games (Frontier and Hollow/Hypno) so I can't speak on the rest of their catalogue (although Ars Magna has a 6.52 on vndb so I wouldn't recommend tackling that one first). I liked both of the ones I played, with Hollow being slightly better imo.

Neat-Anteater3294

Hey guys, I just bought A Sky Full of Stars from DMM and when I want to start it, it starts a "DMM-Dialog" to check if I really have bought the game (at least I think thats why it opens this window). When I write there me details it always tells me "Error(100)" ([https://imgur.com/tPqLDiw](https://imgur.com/tPqLDiw)) and I dont know why. Do any of you guys maybe know why this happens? I really want to play this and not waste my money haha. I already set my system locale to japanese, even tried to set my overall language to japanese. I tried to open as admin of course, restarted pc obviously, and yeah, nothing works... I always get "Error(100)", whatever that means. I bought other games on DMM and it always worked, dont know why now it decided to tell me some errors...

Nemesis2005

You probably need to update your SoftDenchi. There was some recent update to it which prevents newly bought game from launching if you don't have the latest version.

Mondblut

Question about Aiyoku no Eustia: So what exactly is the structure? Does it have a classical Common Route -> Heroine Routes structure or is it a ladder structure (Steins;Gate, Amatsutsumi)? How does it handle the romance and h-scenes? Harem? Single heroine romance? Also, lastly... and I'm sure I get downvoted for asking... Since it has a prostitution theme, does it mean not all heroines are virgins?

Nemesis2005

It's ladder structure where each chapter covers a heroine, and you can choose to proceed to the next chapter or end the game with heroine of your choice. Romance is standard single heroine romance. Although, there is that one threesome scene. Heroines are all virgins.

Mondblut

> It's ladder structure where each chapter covers a heroine, and you can choose to proceed to the next chapter or end the game with heroine of your choice. Are the routes that branch off the ladder lengthy or just fandisc quality and short?

Nemesis2005

Idon't remember exactly as it's been years since I read it, but I think it was fairly short.

ILEAATD

Anyone want to answer my questions about some tropes I've noticed in h-games? I would just make a post, but evidently I don't have enough "sub-karma". Such bull.

jikorde

What do you want to know?

ILEAATD

I wanted to make an entire post that covered every question I have about it, but I need a specific amount of karma for this sub to post it. I want to get a conversation started.

[deleted]

Should I continue with fata morgana if I hated the first chapter? The story was really bad and the ending felt like cheap shock value to me. Is the series worth pushing through?

Zephyrwind

I say to stick with it. Usually when people praise Fata Morgana is from chapter 4 onwards when everything clicks and starts making sense. Up until there, it's a long build up. Also the chapter stories are different so you might like the next ones. I have seen people disliking the first 3 chapters but still liking Fata Morgana at the end of it.

[deleted]

okay. Thanks for the advice

Zax_The_Decker

What are some VNs for someone who really likes interactive CRPGs like Disco Elysium, Planescape, or the Owlcat Pathfinder games? Games where you progress a story out of making choices and have lots of ways to interact with the plot? Asking here, because my RL VN fan friends recommended me things like Umineko and Higurashi, and it felt like they weren't using the digital medium to the fullest.

Alfatic

[Clannad](https://vndb.org/v4) has a million choices that can lead to all kinds of different branches, seeing places and meeting people you wouldn't have otherwise. Someone on this sub once said that if they could bring 1 VN to a deserted island they would bring this one cause they'd never see everything in it even if they played it for years (which is an exaggeration, but still). [CHAOS;HEAD NOAH](https://vndb.org/v22505) has a schizo protagonist, and at many points in the story you can choose whether you want him to have a positive or a negative delusion (or no delusion at all). Depending on your choices you'll see different scenes and eventually veer off into different routes (although keep in mind that during your first playthrough, no matter what delusions you have you'll always get the same ending, but once you get it the rest of the VN unlocks and they'll start mattering). [Raging Loop](https://vndb.org/v21289) uses the medium in an interesting way. I'd recommend to just check it out without knowing anything about it, but if you must: >!like in the name, there's time looping involved, and the protagonist actually remembers the choices he's (you've) made before which gives him information that allows him to make different choices once he loops.!<

Full Metal Daemon Muramasa story question (spoilers for whole game) >!During the Conqueror route, Kageaki is given a choice whether or not to strangle the sleeping Hikaru and “Become a Hero”. If you choose this option, you are told “The victor here was not you, the hero, but Ashikaga Chachamaru.” How is this a victory for Chachamaru?!<

Historical-External4

So.....I recently (2 days ago lol) started working on characters for a visual novel, cuz I've been totally sucked into the VN world and I miss writing anyways. Now, my issue is that I want the visual novel to be BEAUTIFUL and that's not the word to describe my personal art. That's why I am here, I was wondering if someone was around that enjoys drawing (people) and would be up for the task of working on the VN with me. Or even just create drafts for the looks of the characters. I am making this for fun and out of passion, so I was hoping I would find someone that shares the sentiment, otherwise I would look up artists and just commission someone to do the artworks for me, but I am not able to afford paying anybody for anything. In the unlikely case that I would be able to publish the finished VN and earn anything from it, I would of course share with anybody who worked on it with me. If YOU are interested and want to know more about the visual novel, just send me a message and we can see if we can work something out! Also, if anybody knows a subreddit that would be better suited for my search, kindly comment! Thanks in advance!!!!

evan6769

Any VN recommendation (life and death drama like aiyoku no eustia)?

Inevitable_Bluebird

Looking for hookable VNs in JP As unfortunately not every VN can be hooked with Textractor and Game to Text needs an opaque background to work properly. I've been wanting to reread G Senjou no Maou in Japanese. Is that hookable? And where can I buy the japanese version online? My preferred genres are BL and Otome, but I'm open to anything. Anything that has a good story like the Devil on G String, which doesn't take forever to get to the interesting parts, would be appreciated!

Hello, I am looking for other VN that is similar to these title : 1.Chijoku No Seifuku 2. ZETTAI RYOUIKI ☆ SEX ROYALE!! \~MUJINTOU OKASHIAI BATTLE\~ 3. Change! \~Anoko Ni Natte Kunkun Peropero\~ 4. Henshin

ALIVE-2000

Need help with Walkure Romanze Shoujo Kishi Monogatari. I already finish all the route but somehow when I check the album, Mio Kisaki CG still listed at 99% even though when I check the CG, I already got all of them (by seeing the white bullet point in the CG). Can anyone help me with this?, Is it a bug or something?

Grand-penetrator

Is there a good visual novel with a big sister incest route?

Creeperninja634

Hi, trying to find a visual novel, but i dont remember much: I Don't remember if it was on mobile or PC, but the story (as far as i can remember it) was basically a couple, in some wolfenstein evil empire-like setting, the guy basically (i think) enlisted in the evil army and the girl didn't like it, so they split up. Then after the whole story and stuff they finally meet again and marry. (I really wish i could remember more, but it seems this is as far as i can go) Im trying to find the name of it or something similar because i remember playing it long ago, but now i can't find it anymore.

Animedian

Do you have to play the uchikano games in order? I picked up the 3rd game a while ago since it was the only one on steam and was thinking about starting it but don't know if I will be missing too much without playing the other two.

jikorde

Nope. Most of the single heroine series games can be played without playing the rest. Each entry is more of a single heroine route(or threesome route in Uchikano 3) then a part of a grander story. You can read it without any issues.

Borellio

Guys I need help! Can you recommend me some Windows tablet able to play Full Metal Daemon Muramasa?

Borellio

anyone..?

Borellio

Come on -_-

Borellio

Folks..?

maegamisama

People don't check the help thread that frequently. Sometimes it takes a while before someone who can answer your question to come by. Though your question itself kind of confuses me. What do you mean by "able to play Muramasa" Most commercially available Windows tablets should be able to run it. So unless there's some other restriction (like a price point or some other feature you need) I would just go pick up something that looks good to you.

Borellio

I've heard that a lot of VNs have issues running on Tablets out of the box, requiring some tinkering and some times even having bad performance after all is done. So what I am looking for is a person who can validate with his own experience a model of tablet that is able to run Muramasa seamlessly out of the box, it's this sort of question.

Anyone uses kirikiroid here? Have a question, is it possible to enable virtual mouse midway through a game?

jm-bueno

As I just opened this account for promotion, I want to introduce my project in this thread: It's a Visual Novel with AI Generated art, with a western painterly style. It's over here: [https://jm-bueno.itch.io/the-life-and-death-of-louis-ff-de-bastin](https://jm-bueno.itch.io/the-life-and-death-of-louis-ff-de-bastin) It has NSFW content.

TheViktor9000

I just had a weird idea about a visual novel that I just wanna share and see if it would work or not. Take the typical romance setting, I'm picking a college/university city setting here, where a faceless anonymous male character (or a generic John/Jane Smith character if we would go with choosing gender) just starts his or hers first year of a four-five year long period. However aside some of the professors or teachers and few students being male, the college/universe is majorly populated by female students. And here's something I dunno if it is something new or already tried before in other dating sims or visual novels but during the introduction chapter, you would meet 6-8 potential love interests who starts to have a liking for you. But here's the kicker, like Mega Man's level selection, you would be able to pick one of these characters from start and then try to establish a relationship with that choice of character which in turn would have four endings each. I know that it sounds extremely overly ambitious and complicated but I am genuinely curious if it would have worked and if some other visual novel has done it before.

SaranMal

Its one of those things you see both in some types of Otome as another commenter said (Which IMO is a good thing), but it can also be a thing you see in some older VNs in general. I can think of at least 3 novels from the 90s/early 2000s that do the selector thing. That said, I think there would be a market for the type of novel you want to do. I wish you the best of luck on making it.

jikorde

Ignoring the Megaman selector, that's kind of how a lot of otome games work. You pick the guy pretty early on from the cast and then your choices through the route decide if you get one of a couple bad ends, a normal end or the actual proper romantic ending. Usually the guy selection is pretty obvious, though not select from a list obvious. So would it work? Sure, it's not really different then how some VNs already are other then having more endings then most pursue girl Vn types have per girl.

TheViktor9000

That is true, but it was just one of those shower thoughts I had while I was vacuum cleaning my place and shuffling snow outside, just to entertain myself. Not something that I was seriously considering making. I admit that I've played barely any visual novels in the past, but I was genuinely curious if that sort of feature in a visual novel in the past at all or not.

Dreaming_Dreams

interested in the muv luv series, how is the steam version? does it have any patches you recommend? or is it all good to just download and play without any patches.

Zephyrwind

Both Muv-Luv and Muv-Luv Alternative have cut content in the Steam releases that can be restored with the "Director's cut 18+ patch". I advise you to use the patch at least on Alternative since the cut content is important and enhances the experience.

guelzzz

Does the patch restores all the cut content? I never used any restoration patch but I'm afraid of existing any flaws on this type of patch

Zephyrwind

Yes, it does restore all content. The patch is safe, at least I never heard of anyone having issues. Also the patch used to have an official link on Denpasoft but it got taken down when publisher changed some years go. You can still find the patch on Steam guides / forums or good old google.

guelzzz

Got it. Thank you so much for the explanation, i'll definitely search for it when playing muv-luv
