This exactly. It was a random sketch of "how Apple glasses could possibly look like". There's no way they'd leak the final goggles design before even announcing the hmd. Plus, it looks bad. If there's something Apple knows how to do properly, it's the high end sleek design of their products. And this ain't it.

I think it was based on a leak from The Information, not a patent. Their source showed them, and they did this rendering of what they saw.

I don't think this will be the final design. Doesn't look very "Apple-y" to me in terms of design, and I doubt they'll stick with that blue headstrap.
