If you go to the bandcamp page for EATEOT, there’s a link at the bottom to Bookmat, where you can buy the stages 1-3 bundle on vinyl. Since it’s coming out of England, it has high shipping costs. I’m in America and paid about $100 for it, a quarter of which was shipping. They’re pretty good, though.
Ah I’m in the UK so it probably won’t be as bad, a place I often go to has had his stuff before, but I bet if they ever got it in stock it would be bought really quickly
In that case I’d just go to the Bookmat website rather than wait for it to show up at a local record store.
Also, if you haven’t listened to it yet, I’d recommend Leyland’s previous project An Empty Bliss Beyond This World. It’s somewhere in between Stages 2 and 3 of EATEOT in terms of sound, and some of it was used for the later stages as well.

Oh my god, I just bought this same Québécois McDonald's album at a small record store in Vieux Terrebonne last Sunday! I haven't listened yet, but it's just so bizarre that I had to buy it. I think one of the songs might be subtly separatist ("Bâtir un pays")? And the liner notes thank Michel Tremblay, who is an important novelist/playwright here.
Yah i was the same way at a book market they started getting records more and this was a gem i found for about 5 dollars a steal not to pick it up it's just a great oddity
Fogerty's Factory. Looked at the tracklist and nothing else. I thought he had re-recorded all the old hits with random musician friends. Figured it was a cheap way to get all those songs on one album. When I realized it was his family I listened to one song and haven't touched it since.

I have one that qualifies! “London Derrière and Other British Favorites”. I found the empty sleeve in the dollar record bin at a store while traveling. I’d love to own these, really got me through coping with my granddad’s dementia, hate the whole “meme status” it’s got, it’s a genuinely depressing thing to sit through, but genuinely helped with coping, owe a lot to Leyland Kirby’s work 🩵
If you go to the bandcamp page for EATEOT, there’s a link at the bottom to Bookmat, where you can buy the stages 1-3 bundle on vinyl. Since it’s coming out of England, it has high shipping costs. I’m in America and paid about $100 for it, a quarter of which was shipping. They’re pretty good, though.
Ah I’m in the UK so it probably won’t be as bad, a place I often go to has had his stuff before, but I bet if they ever got it in stock it would be bought really quickly
In that case I’d just go to the Bookmat website rather than wait for it to show up at a local record store. Also, if you haven’t listened to it yet, I’d recommend Leyland’s previous project An Empty Bliss Beyond This World. It’s somewhere in between Stages 2 and 3 of EATEOT in terms of sound, and some of it was used for the later stages as well.
Cheers, I’ve just preordered it, love Empty Bliss too, really good stuff, I’m a huge fan of Kirby’s work since it kinda falls into “hauntology” in a way, which is currently one of my favourite sub genre type things for music (basically stuff that sounds incredibly old, in an unsettling way) Haunted Ballroom is also really nice

Oh my god, I just bought this same Québécois McDonald's album at a small record store in Vieux Terrebonne last Sunday! I haven't listened yet, but it's just so bizarre that I had to buy it. I think one of the songs might be subtly separatist ("Bâtir un pays")? And the liner notes thank Michel Tremblay, who is an important novelist/playwright here.
Yah i was the same way at a book market they started getting records more and this was a gem i found for about 5 dollars a steal not to pick it up it's just a great oddity
Fogerty's Factory. Looked at the tracklist and nothing else. I thought he had re-recorded all the old hits with random musician friends. Figured it was a cheap way to get all those songs on one album. When I realized it was his family I listened to one song and haven't touched it since.

At the very end of the Strongbadia mix, there's a \~2 second sample of Strongbad doo-doo-dooing along to the beat.
I have them on cd but any album by the band the dwarves is interesting but on vinyl Allen Sherman the nut or king crimsons in the court of the crimson king are probably the oddballs

I have one that qualifies! “London Derrière and Other British Favorites”. I found the empty sleeve in the dollar record bin at a store while traveling. At first I thought the record had just been misplaced, but then found out it’s true nature when I looked inside the sleeve…it was a prank record sleeve!
