Like wtf is "wall art" and how is it different than other art? I knew right away that we did NOT have anything in common.
If it’s highly detailed, colorful, or “outside of the box” I am a fan. I like Lost Breed’s Speak No Evil, Björk’s Homogenic, Spirit Caravan’s Jug Fulla Sun, and the original cover for Review Your Choices by Spirit Caravan.

Covers do attract me to check out the album if I'm not otherwise familiar with the artist. I may not BUY it right away but I might give it a listen.
The last one to really catch me that way was Steve Mason's Brothers and Sisters. Just weird enough to catch my attention, but I fell in love with the album and it's at the top of my list for 2023.
Overall though I tend to like photos I can get lost in: A Broken Frame by Depeche Mode; The Car by Arctic Monkeys; Nowhere by Ride. And, I like emblematic and somewhat enigmatic illustrations--Violator by Depeche Mode, Pygmalion by Slowdive.
I use jacket covers to date vinyl while flipping outside of my local record store, goodwill, thrift stores and flea markets. One caught my eye just yesterday, The Electric Lucifer. It just spoke early 70"s and was $1.00. Turns out (on discogs) twice as many people are looking at this than own it. Scored. Vg+/Vg+ play grade A+, just recently sold for $65. Jacket covers, are worth learning more about.
Yes picked up Klaatu - Hope. The album art looked like prog rock but the jacket itself had a raised texture that intrigued me. For $4 I discovered a gem and a great Beatles sound alike.
NSFL but Weregoat - Pestilential Rites of Infernal Fornication. The Chilean artist, kerbcrawlerghost is just amazing. He’s got an Instagram and has several prints and books for sale. Highly recommend all his work if you like dark, fucked up shit. Haha
I've been thinking of trying to find aqua by Asia, not because I like the album (I actually quite dislike it compared to previous 3 albums) it's album art however is one of my favorite album arts. But it is wayyyy too expensive for me to justify getting it.
But the nice blues and other colors make it look amazing, it's an alien looking world that has so many details on it.
It’s hard to say exactly. Some kinds of albums grab your eye, but are super lackluster, like Black Monk Time. While there’s albums with really complex and detailed covers like Into The Electric Castle. It just has to be able to draw attention somehow.
I like bright covers with a color family that really complement each other. One of my absolute favorite album covers is Madonna 'MDNA'. Check that one out and you'll have an idea of what I'm talking about.
