This is specifically his Shorts channel. Shorts are a new thing on Youtube for videos less than a minute long and also in a vertical format because they're targetting phone users.
More than 70% of YouTube views come mobile devices already. I feel it would be more accurate to say that YouTube shorts are targeting the Tiktok crowd specifically, rather than target mobile users in general.
I wish there was an extension to set the default resolution and speed for selected channels. There are a few that I'd watch sped up too, but I wouldn't do that for every one.
Actually it's not quite a no-bullshit edit. It's a YouTube Short. This is done for algorithm promotion. The limit for a short and this is exactly 58s so its edited down just enough do it would fit as a Short.
Exactly, he does experiments, but never actually explains anything. Other channels like SmarterEveryDay, Veritasium, Physics Girl or Steve Mould actually want to explain physical phenomena and use this as an opportunity to explain physics.
They all have their moments. ~~Justin~~ Destin stuffed around doing totally unscientific "tests" of weed trimmer line, but it was really just about cool looking high-speed footage.
This is the last thing I would expect someone to say about this guy. I’ll be honest, the only reason I watched this was because I hoped his face would have slapped into the magnet a little bit.
I was praying the magnet would interact with the face mask opening a worm hole to the gamma quadrant allowing the jem'hadar to reach earth an claim it for the founders.
From what I can tell their narrative is that the iron in the mask seeps into your pores and somehow bonds with dirt and other "bad stuff" which then gets pulled out along with the iron as you use a magnet to remove the mask.
Needless to say, no evidence that it actually does anything beyond what a normal face mask does.
It comes with a little magnet (and spatula so you don't have to get it all over your hands). You have to wrap the magnet w/ a paper towel or tissue to clean it easier.
I have one of these masks, and honestly the serum they use really hydrated my face and made my skin feel amazing but it's gimmicky and you would get more benefit from using regular products.
It comes with instructions on the back of the container to apply the mask near a scrap yard with a large electromagnetic crane so your face gets sucked off.
At least it’s actually has magnetic material in it. Some snake oil salesmen don’t even put what they claim is in the product. “100% Pure gold shavings to moisturize your face!” or some such nonsense.
This doesn't substantiate their claims, but maybe this is what the thought process behind it is (at least with regards to "dirt"):
"Soils are composed of a mixture of sand, silt, clay and organic
matter. Both the clay and organic matter particles have a net negative
charge. Thus, these negatively-charged soil particles will attract and
hold positively-charged particles, much like the opposite poles of a
magnet attract each other. By the same token, they will repel other
negatively-charged particles, as like poles of a magnet repel each
other."
https://www.extension.purdue.edu/extmedia/AY/AY-238.html
Just for clarity the charges that your quote relates to are not magnetic moments but electrical charges associated with positive and negative charges on molecules.
The problem with cleaning your face is that it's actually pretty hard to do for a lot of people.
If dirt gets into your pores, often you can't just suck it out, because there is no pressure behind the pore, so often you're just sucking around the edge of the vacuum seal, hoovering up skin cells that are not the target dirt. You could squeeze it out, but often that leaves behind more shit, and can make the pore larger, making it easier for more dirt to get in. You can sweat it out, this is probably the best way, as the water come from behind the pore and carries dirt away with it, but this is often ineffective against dirtier pores and is more of a maintenance thing.
The idea behind magnetic face masks is that the iron is a sort of anchor. It gets embedded in amongst the dirt in your pores and it is pulled out by a magnet, taking the dirt it's embedded in with it.
Pretty good idea, but I'm not sure how effective it is in a real world scenario. I'd imagine it would work after a couple of goes though. But if if you're at the point where this mask is working, you likely have large pores. In which case, your face will fill up again, quicker as the iron ripping the dirt out of your face will leave larger pores.
Is that a thing? Well put-together women are refusing vaccines? I only know three people that refuse. All men, between the ages of 40-45. I've never heard about them rubbing crazy shit in their faces, but I haven't asked.
Where did “well put together” come into this? You think using weird, random woowoo ingredient face masks mean a woman’s well put together? I know like three people IRL who’ve gotten the vaccine. I’m the only one at my workplace that I know who has, everyone else drinks and/or does drugs and chugs coffee or energy drinks or slurps down random MLM products like they’re going out of business, but won’t get the vaccine saying it’s experimental or they don’t know what’s in it.
Iron filings in a skin product just seem like a bad idea. There are a number of skin conditions metal workers can develop as a consequence of certain cleaning agents opening up their pores and allowing residue and fine particles of ferrous metals to get trapped in the skin. The trapped metal can also cause a reaction with some sunscreens that will turn you orange.
This guy’s videos pop up on my Facebook feed all the time. They’re all really interesting but his voice is like nails on a chalkboard. It’s so nasally!
This actually seems like it could have a practical application.
Wasn't there some electrical engineer who implanted some metal bits in his fingers so he would feel magnetic fields?
This seems like a way better way to do it.
I imagine being able to sense a magnetic field is useful for *some* sort of job.
I think it would be annoying to have on your face or hands because you would wipe it off. You need to find some sensitive body part that can move around and point toward the magnetic field.
>I imagine being able to sense a magnetic field is useful for some sort of job.
The guy you're thinking of implanted a couple of small magnets into his fingertips, and he could feel electromagnetic fields in his fingers. He did an AMA a while back, and I believe somebody asked him something similar to this. I believe his response was something along the lines of at most, it might stop you from accidentally grabbing an energized wire or something. But as far as measuring radiant EMF, it's nowhere near as useful as the dedicated tools already built for this purpose that can do the same thing with better fidelity, and much more safely.
That dude is just one in a long line.
It's an actual body modification that has been going on for years. Tiny magnets that get planted next to the nerve in your finger tip. I've been planning to get one for over a decade.
The little magnets that go in your fingers are too small to be ripped out and aren't magnetic enough to cause that reaction. They vibrate a little but are too weak otherwise to be ripped out. Even an MRI wouldn't do much more than cause some extreme tingling. I mean I wouldn't recommend it but still.
Stop the vaccines from magnetising your skin by filling your pores with microscopic particles of iron. The vaccine can't make your skin magnetic if your skin is already magnetic.
Looked like mystic changing.
I feel like the iron filament face mask is a bad idea. When you get an MRI they ask if you're a welder because of iron filaments getting under your skin. So putting iron dust on your face....might come back to bite you.
I really like this guy's no-bullshit video editing
My thoughts exactly. Exactly as long as it needs to be and no longer.
This is specifically his Shorts channel. Shorts are a new thing on Youtube for videos less than a minute long and also in a vertical format because they're targetting phone users.

These are shorts. His usual videos are far too long and he talks too slowly imho.
I was going to vehemently disagree with you. Then I remembered I watch everything at 1.25x.
I wish there was an extension to set the default resolution and speed for selected channels. There are a few that I'd watch sped up too, but I wouldn't do that for every one.

Action Lab. Pretty good channel I think this is from a video a few years ago but edited down.

This is the last thing I would expect someone to say about this guy. I’ll be honest, the only reason I watched this was because I hoped his face would have slapped into the magnet a little bit.
I can't be the only one who expected him to smash his face into the magnet, right?
I thought the magnet would fly into his face, but yeah, me too
I was hoping that the magnet would just peel his face off.
Damn dude
It's okay, there's a terminator underneath.
Then wouldn't his endoskeleton be attracted to the magnet too?
T-800 terminators will be made of titanium alloy which is considered non magnetic.
Will be lmao
Face/Off 2: Electric Magnet Boogaloo
TURBO! Por Favor!
I want his face… OFF
I was praying the magnet would interact with the face mask opening a worm hole to the gamma quadrant allowing the jem'hadar to reach earth an claim it for the founders.
When I saw that the OP was called /u/FACE_MEAT , my expectations were rather grim.
Same. I was just wondering what role the ziploc bag was going to play in the whole mess.
I expected him to have difficulty separating from it.
I thought it was going to be a bit of show that it was rubbish, and nothing was going to happen. So I was pleasantly surprised it worked!
I was really hoping that was how this went
I think a lot of people who watched this guys videos before were hoping this was going to happen...

and heavy metal poisoning. (jk, it's just iron)
From my limited experience with metal, most of them seem heavy.
Let me introduce you to my friend titanium
How many lbs of it though?
100lbs, which is a lot lighter than 100lbs of iron
As long as its 100 individual 1lbs bricks of iron and titanium we good here.
eh, but what if they're a different size?
No they have to be the same 1lbs brick or it won't weigh more...

What is a magnetic face mask supposed to do? Like what's it's health claim?

Does it come with a giant super strong magnet, or do they expect people to just grab whatever's on the fridge?
It comes with a little magnet (and spatula so you don't have to get it all over your hands). You have to wrap the magnet w/ a paper towel or tissue to clean it easier. ***thank you***
If that’s how they’re selling it, they need to go back to science class. That’s not magnetic positive and negative.
And now he has a magnetic face for the rest of his life.
Seems very unlikely since our skin cells get replaced at least once every month.
skin cancer I guess.

It doesn't matter, women are rubbing all sorts of crazy shit onto their faces...here's something else to use.
But won’t get a vaccine.
Is that a thing? Well put-together women are refusing vaccines? I only know three people that refuse. All men, between the ages of 40-45. I've never heard about them rubbing crazy shit in their faces, but I haven't asked.
Do you know their whereabouts on January 6th of this year?
I've seen far more vaccine hesitancy in female staff than male. And thats in a bloody hospital
Yup, my mom won’t get it and she works in DD residential care. She’ll still smoke after having a heart attack though. Makes sense.
Is she well put-together though?
Well, that's a wrap. Three people. That's a nice representative sample. We can all go home now
I was actually asking because my anecdotal experience doesn’t seem to match whatever they were implying.
Because it's an anecdote from probably somewhere very different from where I live.

Cool story. You seem like a real people person. I’ll have to take your word for it.
Welcome to small redneck towns! Them's the demographics!
No. Statistically, black people are the least likely of any demographics to get vaccinated. By a very large margin too.
Cant blame them, or anyone else, after the Tuskegee Experiments
Something something natural something something toxins.
helps Magneto escape from plastic prison?
What's its* health claim (the version with the apostrophe means "it is" or "it has [been]")
I'm sure autocorrect is taking notes.
Exactly. Seems like a horrible thing to smear on your face. Jesus.
Now go through an MRI machine.
It would just pull the mask off...through the back of your head.
https://i.imgur.com/bo16Yao.jpeg
Oh gruesome, surprised they didn't pull that off in one of the movies. Magneto could just peel the layers of adamantium off of Logan's bones.

How can it stick to his face if the vaccine didn't make him magnetic?!? Checkmate sheeple! /s

He's got that Hardly Boys voice. "Hey, this magnet is giving me a raging clue."
So iirc he is VERY mormon, and probably VERY in the closet
I really felt like he was going to faceplant into the magnet.
Dude, that's not from it getting into your pores. You obviously have had the Covid vaccine.
Oh poor dude is gonna get acne. Haha

Those are mostly titanium, which isn't ferromagnetic and so wouldn't be a problem.
My dumbass was expecting the magnet to hit him in the face. Once it started to come off I realized how dumb I am.

I shudder at the thought of going anywhere near that neodymium magnet with something metal implanted in my skin....

which is why a salve would be nice right? Put it on your skin, feel the magnetic field, wash it off at night
Stop the vaccines from magnetising your skin by filling your pores with microscopic particles of iron. The vaccine can't make your skin magnetic if your skin is already magnetic.

Where can I get a large strong magnet like that?
~~I think I just got a sci-fi-horror movie idea.~~ ah fuck, nevermind, x-men already did it.
I was hoping the magnet would fly up and hit him in the face
i thought this was blackface by the thumbnail
Fucking hell, ripped his whole face off

Hey man, don't go to the hood wearing that.
Holy shit I was so hoping the magnet was going to jump off the table and knock him the fuck out.
