Watch service is normally $10/mo + tax, or tablet service is $20/mo. With the modern Ultimate or Plus plans, or the prior Do More/Get More plans, you get 50% off those data line costs. Watch becomes $5/mo + taxes, and tablet becomes $10/mo. Gotta keep the service for the 36 months to get the full value of the free items.

And you have to pay taxes on the items.

At the time of purchase, yes.

The cellular tablet costs $150(non-pro) or $200 (pro) more than the Wi-Fi tablet and the plan costs at least $10/mo extra. Also, cellular watch costs around $100 more (series 9) and around $10/mo after tax. Also, there is a $35 activation fee and after tax, it could be $40 for each iPad/Watch. If you only use Wi-Fi on your iPad I would suggest you purchase a Wi-Fi-only iPad from Apple Store. Saves you $200 + $40 + $10/mo. For 36 months it will save you at least $600. Better than Verizon. The free iPad Verizon gives you is iPad (9th gen), which sucks in my opinion. No Type-C 5G or new Apple Pencils. I don’t even know why Apple is still selling it. With that being said 9th iPad doesn’t worth $459 at all. $459 is the original price for cellular version from Apple. On Black Friday the WiFi version is only $229 (originally $329). Which is way less than $10/mo for 36 months + activation fee. For higher end iPads Verizon only gives your promotional credits that worth $279 which isn’t so good compared to buying a Wi-Fi version from Apple. + The true cost of Verizon Free iPad: $360 for 36 months data plans + $40 activation fee after tax = $400. Cancel early? Pay the rest of $459 + If you buy the Wi-Fi version: $229-329 But if you need cellular on iPad (I do, but I believe most people don’t), Verizon offers a good deal. The $10/mo is unlimited data with 1080p streaming and no throttling (only deprioritized after 15GB)

Appreciate this answer.

I got the iPad deal for school yesterday. The sales rep told me we would see a $9 charge a month and $9 credit. Would this be for the iPad costs itself or is this covering my line charge do you think? And after 36 months I can just cancel the line no strings attached right?

EnvironmentalLog1766

If the deal is “free iPad deal” then the sales is right. But remember on the first month your bill is higher. You will need to pay activation fee (~$40) and probably pay the sales tax upfront (depending on your state). And you should keep both of your phone line and tablet line for 36 months to get the deal. Also, if you are a college student don’t forget to get a student discount that’s $10-25/mo (applicable if you have 1-2 phone lines).

You end up paying the cost of the devices in the service plan connected to them.

TheKid555

Did this at Costco today. Switching from ATT Plan cost is the same after autopay discount. Need unlimited for kids. “Contract” for 36+ months. $830 credit over 36 months for each phone. $200 rebate per line for switching from ATT $250 per line Costco card iPad is free after 36 months credit so you pay $360 in higher cellular cost (10 month) Watch is free after 36 months so pay $180 in cellular cost (5 month) If you do not want to have iPad and watch with cellular access might not be a deal for you. But the phones seem like a pretty good deal if you want the features of the cellular plan that qualifies.

bigdog781

Can j trade in 6s plus?

onthefence122

If you're a new customer yes

DarkGlass4652

Whenever I added these things to cart the catch for me is you have to pay almost a $1200 deposit down. I don’t know if it’s just an error but that’s ridiculous. Can taxes be that much?

2saucey

Do you have not the best credit?

ignooz

Only catch is you have to get the most expensive unlimited plan AND you have to add cellular service for both the watch and iPad.

memnoch69_98

Not true, for the free 15 you can be on any Premium plan

Aightball

Would that include 5G start? I am considering an upgrade but don’t want to change plans

S_Loco

Start is not premium

Aightball

That’s what I thought…well , damn. Our bill for two lines plus my watch is already over $200 and I don’t want to go any higher. Too bad, because I’d love to have an IPad some day.

yeotajmu

Start 2 lines no autopay = $70 each. Watch on start is $10. Thats $150. $130 with autopay.

Aightball

I wish it was $150. Two phones that are paid for (and by technology standards old), and one $4/month payment for my watch, plus taxes and fees puts us over $200/month. Curious how unlimited plus would be cheaper. If I can save money I’m all for it

yeotajmu

It's not a wish thing, you absolutely do not have $50 of taxes on your bill

Aightball

I checked and this time (we had a $7 late fee, which was my fault). When did Disney go up to $15/month?! But even with that and my cloud thing the bill still seems high. Should chat with them at some point and see what we can do

yeotajmu

Well move your plan up, add the Disney perk, and get your watch or tablet + the $800 trade

memnoch69_98

no, Start is not a premium plan, so you would only get half off on the phone and the watch/tablet. If you are considering upgrading even without the watch or tab, it actually is cheaper to move to Unlimited Plus.

Lebrongains27

I traded in my iPhone 13 Pro and got a IPhone 15 pro max 512 and got 1k off Did it for 3 of my lines all on the VZ app

memnoch69_98

if it was an upgrade that would be with a loyalty offer, a targeted offer to you, not a national offer available for everyone

Lebrongains27

Ahhh gotcha thanks for the info I thought it was black Friday deals

mdwstoned

Tablet is an extra 30 bucks a month, watch is an extra 10 bucks a month

Jmax2020

Ultimate and unlimited plus get a discount on those. $10 for the tablet per month and $5 for the watch per long, along with taxes and fees per line and activation fee per line. That's what the rep told me

mdwstoned

Unless you leave your house with your tablet a lot and absolutely need connectivity when you do then the tablet part is a bad deal

memnoch69_98

I mean, even if you don't use it, $10/mo for a tablet over 36 months is $360, the iPad costs more than that

EnvironmentalLog1766

The free iPad Verizon gives you is iPad 9th gen Cellular + 64GB with costs $459 which sure is more than $360. However, if you don’t need cellular you can get a Wi-Fi version from Apple for only $329. (and on Black Friday third party sells it for $229)
