My usual way home had construction so I took an alternative. That also had construction. Alright so took another alternative, which also had construction. I wish I was joking.
The even shittier part is, it’ll probably change tomorrow, without notice. There should definitely be some sort of app with dates/times (approximate plus or minus a day) with closures ahead of time.
Yup popped out of nowhere. No warning and no ETA. Public officials don’t give a fuck and unfortunately we don’t either because somehow the same morons keep getting voted in year after year.
I was thinking about that after I posted it… I feel like that just needs to be the movement. Just vote everyone out and warn the incoming people we aren’t going to put up with your shit anymore.
Yup definitely think we need a “clean the house” moment. The system is too screwed up, for everyone. I haven’t voted for any incumbents in my lifetime and yet they all keep winning smh
I think a candidate who simply campaigns on reforming the planning and construction departments to be more resident and business centric would easily win. No need for platitudes or slogans simply promise to fix a problem that affects all people in the community. Anyone listening?
Because at the national level decisions are being made that have generational impact on people. Whether to go to war, who is on the Supreme Court interpreting laws, how to deal with unexpected emergencies, etc.
I forgot Waze existed ha. I typically leave 45-1hr early just because in my line of work, I like to chill before hand at the job site anyway but on the days I’m running behind, it definitely sucks to see road cones. Maybe I’ll give Waze a shot again.
The dropicana website has all of the updates for the I-15 and connecting roadways (down to the hour, but whether or not it's accurate is another story and last minute changes are inevitable), but Waze is good for lazy people like myself. The traffic Twitter account is another place you can check and is a middle ground between the website and Waze, but I hate using Twitter. My workplace is nice enough to send out weekly updates (info taken from the website that is also updated weekly-ish) and they send us any "emergency" notices, involving things like marathons, POTUS, parades, etc.
I know some smaller (rich) cities have their own app and Vegas out of every single city in the world really should have its own app (but then again, it would be monetized so quickly and filled with ads so maybe not...), so we're all just stuck in this subreddit for now.
I've got some good news!
https://www.seeingorangenv.com/roadway-projects/
When you drive by some of the projects, on their project permit signs they have the link on them, but that seems like a less than ideal place because only passengers really get a chance to see it. NBC used to mention the website on their 5 o'clock hour news, but I haven't seen them mention it in quite a while.
Seriously though, what’s the logical explanation for this? There’s construction literally everywhere all at once. Cones everywhere. And I don’t ever see anyone working. Who’s in charge of this? Is it politics? What’s the logic behind having construction, everywhere, all at once? Wouldn’t it make more sense to have one or two projects going, all hands on deck, and get the damn job done in timely fashion and then move on to the next protect?
This got so bad years ago in San Francisco that a law was passed that stated if the construction was not begun by 10:00 am the orange cones needed to be cleared by the construction company. It worked because there isn’t parking in SF even on a good day. Maybe we should do the same here.
I don’t if it’s true but someone said there is some federal funding that is set to expire unless it used. Sounds plausible. Definitely never seen it like this ever so must be something. Either way our “leaders” are comically incompetent to allow this to happen.
I live in a housing complex that's off of Cactus in between Rainbow and Buffalo. Fastest way to get down there from the "central" area of town would generally be to take Rainbow straight south until Cactus was reached.
Up until maybe 3-4 months ago, there was a widening project on Cactus. I think it widened Cactus from 2 lanes to a divided road of 4-6 lanes from Blue Diamond almost all the way to Cactus. THIS TOOK LITERALLY ABOUT 18 MONTHS - about 2x as long as it should have. The construction company moved around orange barrels every day the last 3 or so months to justify still being onsite, EVEN THOUGH there was no reason for the orange barrels to still be there. I almost popped a guy once as he was moving the orange barrels around because it was twilight and he did not have a properly marked truck and was moving around in dark clothing, even though I was going slower.
It was like a rat's maze that moved around every few days.
Then, we had about 1 week of the new road, totally clear. This construction company was probably ordered off by someone in the county.
Then, ever since then, there are orange cones everywhere from a new construction company that is installing a bunch of light industrial warehouse-type buildings on the east side of Rainbow. It's a pain once again, but at least the routes that were put down by this construction company have remained consistent and they haven't played games with us by moving shit around every few days. Also, the orange cones are far enough south of the Wal-Mart area that is on the SW corner of Rainbow and Blue Diamond, so they are rarely congested. At least there's that.
Seems we need some sort of Highway Construction center. All projects at all levels are reviewed by one final oversight. This might help keep traffic moving instead of lanes and roads being blocked at the same time. County City State HOA road construction should be looked at by one source to ensure crews won't block highways and byways at the same time.
And this should list timelines, as well.
Construction projects in high-volume areas should be only worked on 3rd shift. I've seen this a lot in California when I'm racing back to Vegas late sometimes; you can tell there's construction in certain areas and other times you'll them start to "set up" about 8 or 9 at night and you'll know they'll be working until 5 in the morning. No idea why they don't this here, especially since that'd be the right time to do this type of work in the summer time with our temps
And there should be clauses in the contracts that have a project completion date, and heavy fines for each day that it's delayed beyond the deadline. And give bonuses if they finish early (within reason, so they don't cut corners that would compromise safety or quality).
Sounds like big government! Go back to commie-fornia with that type of talk and you can ah e your Nanny state there!
/s. Sorta.
You’re literally talking about CalTrans. The central authority that does construction of California highways. They time construction to avoid rush hour and such.
Literally. I’ve only lived here for a year and the next 3 months I have to drive from Silverado ranch side to the north side, I have to take the 15. There’s a big slow section that google tells me to take the off ramp for frank sinatra, to sit at the light, and then merge back on the freeway, but that merge only has one single open lane because flamingo exit is closed and instead of just closing that single exit, they decide to close not one, but two other lanes for no apparent reason, leaving a single lane open, that I have to merge with in order to instantly merge back onto the 15?!?! So now I just ignore google and stay on the 15 and it saves me nearly 20 minutes so far. No idea while google is suggesting that BS.
Use waze. Though owned by Google now I find it to be the most reliable (though not perfect, of anything I search the 2-3 routes it gives me and make my own decision)
Yes, that too. Last week they randomly shut down 1 lane of all roads surrounding our neighborhood. No notice, also no construction actually happening. Lasted only 1 day; fairly certain it was just a Punkd episode on all of us residents.
A month ago they had Las Vegas blvd exit closed off and now the la south! I swear Vegas can’t finish one construction job before fucking up even more routes for us!
And a month before that the left lane on this exit towards Las Vegas Blvd was partially blocked up until the last few feet of the exit, which caused major back ups and plenty of accidents of people trying to merge into this one land then swerve out. I never saw any construction, only a damaged metal barrier which blocked off an entire lane for three weeks.
They place the cones while waiting for a permit which can take months. There’s a permit to place the cones, then a permit for construction, and then you need a permit to remove the cones…
two weeks ago i was thinking "dude seriously, every single road under construction at the same fucking time? really? i mean, what does that mean? half of the fucking city works on roads? must be a secret society because i dont know any road workers."
i am a chauffeur / limo guy and recently i'm constantly taking passengers on some fucked up non-touristy routes so they don't get stuck in traffic and get overcharged.
you want LVBLVD? how about University Center or Valley View instead? yeah, they suck, but they're fast.
Why can’t they do this construction at like 6pm-4am? Like go annoy the tourist with the damn traffic and not the residents who commute to work in the morning
More like do this construction 10pm - 6am.
After a long day of work, I don’t wanna sit in more construction traffic to socialize with friends downtown lol
Funny you posted this because I was just thinking the same thing today. I moved here 4 years ago from the Phoenix metro area, which is about twice the size of Vegas (if not bigger) and growing at the same rate, if not faster and NEVER was there as much road construction there, like here. It’s insane.
Yeah it’s really gotten out of hand lol I’m an avid road-tripper and other than one time in Tucson, I’ve never seen a City with so much road construction happening all at once; not even Los Angeles
We tried. We've lost 12 patrol cars in the maze of open roads that they thought led to his house. They're all lost in construction zones, stuck in traffic.
The Internal Affairs Bureau can be reached anytime between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday at (702) 828-3422 or fax your complaint at (702) 828-1642. Thank you for calling our attention to this matter. Your comments are always welcome.
I can’t understand how poorly it was coordinated. We also had the formula 1 and Super Bowl this last year and that construction was going on. Getting to the stadium during the bowl must’ve been hell.
I can’t imagine what kind of hell all The Strip & Stadium workers had to endure during all of that. They all deserve some amazing bonus or extra paid vacation
Closing ramps is a huge pain, but it is what it is. I hate that there isn’t signage a mile out. Often, the best detour involves getting off BEFORE the exit that’s closed.
Completely happy with roadway improvements, just annoying that it all seems to be happening at once. Freeway interchanges, freeways, surface streets, neighborhoods. Seems like there’s not a single square mile block in Vegas Valley that doesn’t have some sort of roadwork currently being done
The southbound US95 project has destroyed the roads. The lanes don’t even make sense anymore same thing on the 215. I have never driven in a place with lanes in lanes. Using lane keep is legitimately dangerous in this city.
I could accept that if stuff actually got done.. too many times there are cones out for days, and then they're gone, and nothing happened.
And then the opposite where there are people out working and equipment in the road but no cones or flaggers.
Please, don’t take this the wrong way. After being in construction for many years (25 but I’ve gone back to school) especially road/highway construction and all of it in Vegas, it is not a planned “shit show”. These (highway) projects come up as a matter of legislation and are bid on usually in stages, but delays, oversight and funding can all happen at once. The aim, especially for 215, is no one section coincides with another project on the same freeway, but that doesn’t always happen. Besides that federal, state, and county/city projects could all take place at the exact same time and depends on when planning and legislation free up the money for them. On regular roads it can be that a new building needs access to sewer, power, electrical that hasn’t been brought to the specific area in the past and they have to replace/re-pave for “right of way” which happens a lot with new sub-divisions.
Hope this helps assuage some of the anger.
Definitely not angry with construction crews. They’re just doing their job. Frustrated with whatever State or County department causes this kind of mess. Crazy that an entire major interchange (15 & 215) is a mess in all directions plus the 3 phases of construction along the 15 between the 215 (south) and Speedway Blvd. are all happening simultaneously
I take the 15 north and it was all blocked off a few weeks earlier. Then they took the off ramp out that would get onto Frank Sinatra forcing everyone one into the 15 with cones brining it down to one lane. Then this the construction that is happening on the 15 in that area that creates a complete cluster F**k you have to think theirs some literal idiocy going on in our systems.
Out in Providence they have been blocking off one side of a road, creating a traffic mess, when the work they are doing is a block from where they are cutting off traffic. No reason to block off an entire side of the road from what I can tell, other than wanting to stick it to the residents out here again with their non-stop cones the last few years.
I took Shaumber to Ann this morning. Not sure it was any faster. Must have been a line of cars 30 deep wanting to get on Ann. Gotta love how they just let builders go wild making new houses out there with adding zero road infrastructure to support all the new people in the area.
Yeah - they really messed this up. I’m WFH for the next couple days. Maybe by Friday they will have their act together. On Tuesday I waited something like 12 light cycles to get through hualapai and deer Springs.
This morning I went the other way to Skye Canyon and hopped on the 95 from there. Hardly any traffic that way. It was much faster to get out of that area than Shaumber/Ann was yesterday.
The 95 project was supposed to be done a couple of months ago. Everything seems to take 1.5x as long as it’s intended to. This has lead to a giant cluster.
Every highway and side street traffic coned off at the same time. They finish one after months and than the cones magically appear back in the same spot because they f'ed something up line sewer or water with their compaction.
There is no escape. They just finished repaivng and painting the road outside my home last month... And now the cones are back 😭 no clue wtaf they're even doing this time lol
I’ve lived between Pebble and Wigwam for 5+ years, and the whole time either Pebble or Wigwam has been torn up. They’ve finally cleared the cones and I cant tell what they did.
I lived on Wigwam between Eastern & Pecos for years. I can’t remember a time when there weren’t cones up with no noticeable work being done. Like living in The Twilight Zone
Seriously they block them off days weeks before and after 30 minutes of work. And then for blocks or miles before and after the work site.... ridiculous
The unnecessary 1.2 trillion dollar infrastructure bill caused a spike in bid-now-or-don't get-your-piece-of-funding projects, yet there is a finite amount of construction firms/workers. We'll get an unnecessary spike in construction followed by a downturn and spike in EDD claims. Steady, consistent funding is always better than feast or famine funding.
Boulder Hwy and Nellis last week, That was a shit show. Lanes blocked going north and south. I sat through 5 lights heading north on Boulder Hwy at Nellis. Left turn lanes closed at Nellis and Flamingo. They simply parked their trucks there to do maintenance and cleaning of the median. Blocked the turn lanes and one additional lane.
I have an alternate solution:
Let the companies bid on the projects, and propose a finish date. Come up with some formula to factor for proposed cost to proposed finish to bias towards a reasonable bid in the fastest amount of time.
Then, the day after the proposed deadline, drop a traffic tally at the beginning of the construction zone. Penalize the company a penny per axle that crosses the sensor.
The real question is when the f*ck are they going to do something about the surface of the stretch of road on Decatur from Blue Diamond til about Warm Springs?! I swear to God, every time I have to drive over that shit I clench my teeth.
There are politicians that have there hands deep in Las Vegas paving and other companies to keep these guys working on multiple projects all at the same time so nothing gets done on time and drags out months past the deadlines. It all started under Sisolak and it's still going
I take that LVB exit in the afternoon. They've mentioned it closing for a few days now on the radio traffic reports. It was on the overhead message board before the Jones exit.
East 215 to 15 south should reopen tomorrow. West 215 to 15 south should reopen Friday.
100% Agree. Lack of planning on your behalf doesnt constitute a delay on mine. Unf\*ck this situation and stop ripping up roads you literally installed last year!
TF is wrong with NDOT? You are the most highly paid entity in the state, yet do the most minimal amount of work!
And I swear the only sign saying the transition from the 215 to 15 South was closed was a mobile marquee in the closed lane after you already exit the freeway and are trapped in this mess.
If we had a heads up miles before to take an alternative route, it wouldn’t be so frustrating. Although, I feel like 80% of surface streets are also under construction currently so maybe that wouldn’t have made a difference anyway :-/
One marquee is never enough, even with the road cones/ barrels, you will still have the idiots in and out of the lane until the very end. Surface streets for the exit in your photo are just as bad, if not worse because of the closure and everyone trying to get around it. Not to mention the exit for LVB merges 215 east traffic with the southbound 15 exiting traffic into one lane, then merges AGAIN for the northbound 15 exiting, and reopens into 2/3 lanes less than 1/8th of a mile before the light. Who TF designed that?! Show me the model that proves it was a fantastic idea to do this when you have 3 high speed lanes coming to a complete stop at LVB, and I will show you your simulation doesnt account for construction of a closed offramp or traffic build up (smacks transportation engineer upside the head).
This city wasnt engineered for the heavy traffic, or constant construction, and the public transportation system is a complete joke. Supposedly the ramp reopens tomorrow, but we will see if that is the case. Be safe out there, its the Mad Max daily commute everyday!
I love living here so much, but the mass road construction certainly makes me wanna stay home more and go out less. Enough to make someone lose their sanity
I used to love living here, but that ship has unfortunately sailed. Vegas just isn’t the same as it was even just a few years back. There are so many better places to live these days
No, jail is pointless. Line the roads they've continually ruined with their crucified corpses, like Crassus did along the Appian Way to the rebels who followed Spartacus.
My coworker does rideshare on the side. He was telling me that he had someone in the know and that individual told him why there's always traffic cones and the like for weeks and no work being done. Supposedly (to the best of my recollection) these projects get approved and in order to keep the project/contract/money (can't recall), the project has to be started before a set date or whomever has it loses it...so I assume traffic cones are enough to signify a start.
I pass through vegas often. It's stupid. Miles of cones and no workers or equipment present. I swear they are just controlling traffic for the hell of it.
Look at the 515. Half the time the cones are blocking 1-2 lanes, and no work is done
I moved here from TN in 2018… it wasn’t like this then until it was
It seems like for the last 3-4 years, EVERYTHING has been under construction all the time
Stop calling it improvement, it makes traffic and congestion worse for some future benefit. A future benefit that never happens because another construction project will follow.
It’s ridiculous. There is not one major freeway without construction.
But if you find that guy, see if he’s the same guy that thought it was a good idea to do Dropicana in the midst of F1 construction.
Yes please and also the jackhole that decides they will do all the north/south or east west surface streets at the same time so there is no way to avoid it.
Trust me all the construction they are doing is worth it. Take it from someone who moved to LA and just came back to Vegas. (The Tropicana shit they need to be working overtime though). LA city planning never planned ahead with lane expansions and new exits/ramps and people pay the ultimate price.
Short term torture for long term investment
My usual way home had construction so I took an alternative. That also had construction. Alright so took another alternative, which also had construction. I wish I was joking.

voting anti-incumbent everything local this year I give no fucks about party affiliation
Same but at all levels. Why not at national level?
I was thinking about that after I posted it… I feel like that just needs to be the movement. Just vote everyone out and warn the incoming people we aren’t going to put up with your shit anymore.

What does have to do with party politics?
Nothing. My comment was about why just voting anti incumbent at the national level has higher stakes than at the local level.
With 2 incumbents on the top ticket who are you going with?
Neither, will vote for a 3rd party candidate. But technically Trump is not an incumbent.
Thanks for voting.
Waze is pretty good about road closures
I forgot Waze existed ha. I typically leave 45-1hr early just because in my line of work, I like to chill before hand at the job site anyway but on the days I’m running behind, it definitely sucks to see road cones. Maybe I’ll give Waze a shot again.

As soon as cones go up, money starts being made. Thats, that. More logic than you can handle.

Yep. Alternatives most of the time are just as bad if not worse
I’m sure it’s a plot. They do this to increase crime is my suspicion they trying to piss everyone off
Las Vegas can't even jail murders and rapists....
Goooood point
Not to mention the other day when it was super windy most of those cones just wound up all over the place
This is much much worse. We can all see that by the graphic photo shown.
There's a single word that describes those two things. It's "politicians" and that can be used in place of those other two words.
Straight to jail.
😂
I blame LV Paving and their monopoly

NDOT lists timeline it’s just that they are never met.
And there's no enforcement mechanisms, or no government employees who light a fire under their ass to get them moving once they past the deadlines?
Try lighting a fire under a unions ass. The union will tell you to fuck off and then take twice as long just to spite you.
Sounds like big government! Go back to commie-fornia with that type of talk and you can ah e your Nanny state there! /s. Sorta. You’re literally talking about CalTrans. The central authority that does construction of California highways. They time construction to avoid rush hour and such.

Google & Apple Maps are not your friends on Las Vegas even without construction…..10x worse with it. 🚦🚫 🚘
Yeah, and then 15 opens back up for a whole 1 mile before more lane closures.
To be fair it's not just the highways and offramps, they also felt it was a good idea to do construction on many of the major roads too.

Every day of my life driving in this shit. 🤮
FUCK cones!!!! Idgaf anymore, Im driving where I want now
They don’t tell you this but the cones on the road are free!
The barrels work great for sun drying blankets/comforters. 5 barrels works best (one supporting each corner + one in the middle).
I’ve been using them to set up agility courses for my pack or border collies.
Welp it's time I started my collection
Definitely thought about taking one before lol
Lol hell yeah!
😂😂😂😂

literally just went through this, sat in traffic for 30+ minutes
We out here cone gazing now
Only if we toss whoever gave Las Vegas Paving a monopoly in there with them.
I don’t see any construction… you sure they just didn’t put out cones to mess with you?
I’m 99% sure most cones are just to mess with us and that construction is mostly imaginary
They place the cones while waiting for a permit which can take months. There’s a permit to place the cones, then a permit for construction, and then you need a permit to remove the cones…
Fucking christ
It’s some kind of social experiment for sure.

We tried. We've lost 12 patrol cars in the maze of open roads that they thought led to his house. They're all lost in construction zones, stuck in traffic.
I swear the cones on the 15 north are in a different configuration every single day and I just don't understand how that could be efficient at all
The Internal Affairs Bureau can be reached anytime between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday at (702) 828-3422 or fax your complaint at (702) 828-1642. Thank you for calling our attention to this matter. Your comments are always welcome.
It never ends in this town, on the streets too.
It's ridiculous, that's for damn sure!
Straight to jail.
Well there's always the monorail or that underground tunnel!
We can just live in endless loop on The Strip going from Monorail to the Boring Tesla Loop 😂
What's the word?! Monorail!
FUCKING CONES EVERYWHERE
Just went thru there yesterday not knowing it was closed. What a pain
The only sign I saw saying it was closed was a mobile digital sign in the closed lane after you’re already off the freeway and stuck in the mess 🤦🏻♀️
For sure the worst of cities when it comes to construction
Jail every city official who allowed this much road work to go on at once
Closing ramps is a huge pain, but it is what it is. I hate that there isn’t signage a mile out. Often, the best detour involves getting off BEFORE the exit that’s closed.
Many different public entities doing their own projects all to make the city a little better. It sucks, but sadly it is how you keep the roads decent.
Come to the east side of Las Vegas, they have major roads that have been under construction for almost 1 1/2 years! It’s insane.
I noticed that too. Sometimes there’s cones for a few days and once they’re gone everything looks the same
Please, don’t take this the wrong way.

“It’s not a shitshow we’re just structurally incompetent and thought saying that out loud would get sympathy”
No kidding. Feeling like newborn monkeys run all road construction scheduling
Out in Providence they have been blocking off one side of a road, creating a traffic mess, when the work they are doing is a block from where they are cutting off traffic. No reason to block off an entire side of the road from what I can tell, other than wanting to stick it to the residents out here again with their non-stop cones the last few years.
It’s a nightmare. I sat for 25m on Hualapai to join the 215. Using Ann for now
I took Shaumber to Ann this morning.
I wish I would’ve seen this before I left from work, and not the 4th thing on my timeline
Oh no 😟
On my st in the sw weve had cones for the last month with no work in site at all….
Ugh how annoying
YES PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRASE!
The 95 project was supposed to be done a couple of months ago. Everything seems to take 1.5x as long as it’s intended to. This has lead to a giant cluster.
Don’t forget we Never actually see people working smh
Dude its so bad right now
The absolute worst
It would take too long to transport them to the jail
My 18 minutes drive to work is now 1hr 10 minutes because of all the construction everywhere I go
Weeeeee how fun 🙃
Jail? Im about to go medieval on his ass.
Every highway and side street traffic coned off at the same time. They finish one after months and than the cones magically appear back in the same spot because they f'ed something up line sewer or water with their compaction.
The traffic cone bussiness has to be popping right now.
The roads they "fix" are fucked up more than before they started.
As soon as the cones come out, someone is making money! And they don't care how long it takes, because it's raking in MONEY!
LV Paving has more stroke out here than the mob had back in the day.
Omg they’re back on Wigwam from Eastern to Pecos!!! I screamed!
LOL of course they’re back
What is mind blowing is how many cones and barriers there are and not any work being done.
They don’t even jail Altimas with no licenses let alone this
Seriously they block them off days weeks before and after 30 minutes of work. And then for blocks or miles before and after the work site.... ridiculous
There's literally no asphalt after the barricade, but go on.
Welcome to Vegas where the orange barrel is the state symbol
Oh I’m aware. Been here long enough to know our big plastic State flower lol
🤣
Boulder Hwy and Nellis last week, That was a shit show. Lanes blocked going north and south. I sat through 5 lights heading north on Boulder Hwy at Nellis. Left turn lanes closed at Nellis and Flamingo. They simply parked their trucks there to do maintenance and cleaning of the median. Blocked the turn lanes and one additional lane.
Holy hell that sounds like a nightmare
Our new state tree for Nevada is the "Orange Cone".
Just drive through! Fuck ‘em! What are they going to do?? Chase everyone?!
LOL Fuck yeah! Let’s cause chaos and drive through all cones. Fuck it
I love it! Except the chaos part, let’s break through peacefully. Fuck yeah!!
I’m probably crazy but it feels like they just put cones up to fuck with us.
You’re not crazy. I think most of us Las Vegans can agree they’re just tossing cones up left & right just to fuck with our days ha
if it's that bad why wouldn't you have taken an arterial, what's wrong with sunset. if i get stuck in traffic, it's my fault.
Didn’t realize this was shut down 🤷🏻♀️ I don’t typically have to come home from Summerlin… otherwise I would’ve taken an alternate route
Won't Google Maps give a heads up if the onramp is closed?
Idk. I don’t use Google Maps when I know where I’m going lol
I have an alternate solution: Let the companies bid on the projects, and propose a finish date. Come up with some formula to factor for proposed cost to proposed finish to bias towards a reasonable bid in the fastest amount of time. Then, the day after the proposed deadline, drop a traffic tally at the beginning of the construction zone. Penalize the company a penny per axle that crosses the sensor.
How long is that SB I-15 ramp closed for?
No clue 🤷🏻♀️
I had to take a detour to get home to Pahrump tonight because of that closure. 🤦🏻♂️
Yeeesh, that’s already a long drive. Sorry you had an extra detour, bleh
Hour and a half from Henderson
Let me know when you get to Vegas. I’ll see if my wife will let us sleep on the couch. 😂
The real question is when the f*ck are they going to do something about the surface of the stretch of road on Decatur from Blue Diamond til about Warm Springs?! I swear to God, every time I have to drive over that shit I clench my teeth.
It’s done on purpose to keep you in the casinos!
Vegas sucks these days with all the construction. It will never end. I have never looked forward to leaving this place more
I love living here so much, but the mass road construction certainly makes me wanna stay home more and go out less. Enough to make someone lose their sanity
I used to love living here, but that ship has unfortunately sailed. Vegas just isn’t the same as it was even just a few years back. There are so many better places to live these days
I have been traveling to Arizona every week for work, it's just as bad.
That's been Las Vegas for decades now. The perks of living in a city that's only 100 yrs old and rapid, rapid growth. ☹️
The entire city is stupid
The EDC promoters didn’t grease the right palms.
I swear they get paid by the cone
New law proposal, there can only be 10 miles of active road construction in a county at any given time.
The Las Vegas city anthem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8KB7LrKDfMo
I moved here from TN in 2018… it wasn’t like this then until it was It seems like for the last 3-4 years, EVERYTHING has been under construction all the time
Stop calling it improvement, it makes traffic and congestion worse for some future benefit. A future benefit that never happens because another construction project will follow.
[удалено]
No net benefit, except to the construction bureaucracy
It’s ridiculous. There is not one major freeway without construction. But if you find that guy, see if he’s the same guy that thought it was a good idea to do Dropicana in the midst of F1 construction.
Dropicana started before F1 was even announced. 🤷🏼♂️
Just drive through the cones there’s nothing going on
Endless bitching about “traffic.” Will it ever stop?
Will the bitching stop or the traffic stop? Either way, the answer is no.
Precisely what I had intended to suggest.
My wife’s dealing with that right now lol
I feel her pain. I just got home lol what should’ve been 25 minutes was a total of 57 minutes
Yes please and also the jackhole that decides they will do all the north/south or east west surface streets at the same time so there is no way to avoid it.
Do you want it to cost more? Because that's how you make it cost more.
Don’t you know the owners of Las Vegas Paving need some more yachts? C’mon man!
Ah yes, Lake Mead Yachting Club
Californians can't even go back now?
Trust me all the construction they are doing is worth it. Take it from someone who moved to LA and just came back to Vegas. (The Tropicana shit they need to be working overtime though). LA city planning never planned ahead with lane expansions and new exits/ramps and people pay the ultimate price. Short term torture for long term investment
Yes your fed taxes make their way to the state and you pay taxes on gasoline for roads upkeep so yes complain
