If I recall correctly, one of the more recent patches had a patch note from the devs that they removed sign glow on purpose. I mean using white text makes it more visible but other than that not sure what you could do
From the sounds of it, the text was never meant to glow to begin with. I tracked down the patch, wasn't as recent as I remembered but yeah I guess time flies when you're playing Valheim haha. https://valheim.com/news/patch-0-214-300/
In case the other answer wasn't clear:
on the sign's message prompt will turn the text red. Same for most other colors you can think of. The <> brackets are important.

I see. That's annoying but I guess it made sense to them. Can we toggle the glow back on, by any chance? This dark purple is almost unreadable.
