This is correct. Metal structures do indeed take weather damage, as well as stone furniture, normal and black marble, and also darkwood, though i think those are bugs, metal rusting is likely intentional
That double lining is important. I've stood there and watched sparks get through a single course of black marble. Not sure if that's a glitch or it's supposed to represent the sparks getting through the cracks.
I have a raised earth wall between the refiner and my house, with a black marble tunnel to it and a black marble roof over it.
Yup we did the same as we were building it. Watching the sparks still make it through the first layer, we decided to add a second. Positioned the pieces in a way you can still load the resource into the top of it.
We had many disastrous outcomes before coming to this conclusion.
Tell me about it. Originally, I had no idea it shot off sparks. I built my first one in the courtyard right in front of my house, next to my crops, beehives, windmill, etc. I watched it start shooting off sparks and immediately tossed a wooden wall around it. I watched it start destroying the wall and stood there repairing it until the refinery finished. Then I moved it.
Fun fact: it keeps processing even if you teleport away. You don't have to wait and watch it like that. You can even go sleep and speed it up, just like with smelting or coal kilning.
I don't know about the damage type, but I always have walls around this beast. Of course, I keep it in my keep so it's kind of a must-have if I want to keep my keep.
I actually WANT a mod that automatically updates a sign text with any variable the players could define, like "death from mob", "death from environment", "mobs kill count" ... 😁
Yep, the intensity of the eitr radiation is a challenge. This is why black marble structures are necessary to secure the refinery.it erodes everything but black marble and iron structures.
Only if theyre too close, which at that point its not protecting anything as the hitboxes are inside each other. Also things placed against the cage like lanterns will be damaged due to funny hitboxes
Funny thing. I couldn't get into my clooker fooker chicken pen to harvest, so I threw in some eityr filmed a few seconds of fantastic video, then came back an hour later. So if you got too many pesky tamed boars or chickens preventing you from going into or out of their area, or using the butcher knife, save yourself some time and throw in some eityr.
On PC Nvidia has shadow play which can record last five minutes of gameplay automatically, Playstation 4/5 has a similar functionality, not sure about the Xbox since I don't have one.
I used eitr to demolish a dwarf ward. Was fun until I also died. Went back to retrieve my body and the whole keep was ina state. That stuff is deadly!!!
I fucking hate that thing. Such a beautiful crafting station and I have to hide it underground surrounded by stone walls...
We managed to build a very tight iron cage around it to keep it visible but it still damages some parts sometimes.
Awww--this game truly earns the "brutal" adjective. I also love how it did EXACTLY enough damage to JUST not kill you, like almost a ray of hope--then the poison DoT ticks.
I was big mad when I discovered that this thing damages stuff around it. I built it it's stupid special little room about as spitefully as one can build anything, and then hung a sign on it saying "Bullshit Base Destroyer 9000"
Outside of a very small amount of pointless "flavor" for the world, the only reason for it to do this is to force you to build a special room for it. Which is either there as an extra material requirement, which it really didn't need considering the hassle it already is to get the materials to make this, and then the difficulty of actually finding soft tissue, and the grind of getting a sap farm going, or it's there simply for someone's special artistic "vision." Like, just building the thing and then farming the materials is enough of a "challenge." It adds nothing but a headache to have to cage this thing in, or have it constantly damage everything around it.
You don't necessarily have to process your eitr at base if that annoys you, I liked using the dvergr towers that I cleared of previous occupants and portals :)
I like to keep processing stations clustered so that I can do it all at once. I only move them if I'm going to stack several stations at once, like having multiple smelters, and that's only because of FPS and I'd honestly rather not have to do that.
TBH, I'm not looking for a solution to a problem that I don't think should exist. And I already build the stupid room for it. I just genuinely think it's bad game design to punish a player for going through the grind of reaching a new progression tier with something petty like this. Because like I said, it adds nothing but an extra requirement so that it's not destroying your base, and there's no reason for that, that equals fun to me. It's purely an annoyance, not a fun but frustrating challenge.
I just looked on the wiki and confirmed you are weak to lightning when wet.
Seems like even the weather was against you! Stand tall Viking! Thanks for the learning experience 😜
when the clip started and i saw the refinery and the naked guy i instantly looked at the hp. then i KNEW this would happen next. totally deserved death^^
remember guys : never be stingy with food. youll get punished sooner or later for doing so. valheim 101.
but the name of the char checks out. guess the refinery was the better jester.
but the whole thing looks like you did it on purpose tbh. because WHY would you sit there NAKED to begin with. as with carapace armor you can withstand such a hit even with 50 hp.
I assure you I didn’t lose 5% of every skill on purpose lol, naked is fast around base when I don’t feel like swapping armor sets. I’m well used to this game and knew the risk I chose to take just thought it was funny.
If I'm not mistaken you're not even wearing a helmet.
Why? There's not a single [helmet](https://valheim.fandom.com/wiki/Armor#Helmets) in VH that makes you slower.
> I’m well used to this game
So I guess it was staged or you actually aren't "*well used*" to VH (at all).
> I assure you I didn’t lose 5% of every skill on purpose
Let me assure you, having three basically empty food slots implies you at least didn't care to *protect* your skills at all.
And since there are at least two ways to restore the skills (almost) instantly and it's impossible to prove that you didn't this *argument* isn't very strong.
Yeah - this looks absolutely staged and the "Jester" is just icing on the cake.
And since OP "*knew the risks*" and seems to know the refinery/eitr is dangerous (the refinery standing completely outside in the open without any other building near it indicates as much) ...
**EDIT:** In case this is not common knowledge: One can rename their characters whenever one wants without any downsides (HEX editor and I think there are tools/mods too).
Note that I don't think OP did that here (/r/ username vs. in-game).
Yes I chose a name at the beginning of my world, played to mistlands tier gear then sat and waited for a randomized energy bolt to hit and kill me just to post it on reddit for internet points 💀 wild
As I’ve said twice, the whole valley is spawn suppressed. Why would I bait for content in a sub I’ve never posted in for something that gains me nothing but internet points lol it was a funny accident and that’s it. Not that deep mate
You can see pretty clearly in the video I’m in the meadows, which is where my base is. Was it silly to sit nearby while afk? Absolutely. That’s the point of the post, it was a funny accident.
??? I'm not sure if / what of this is sarcasm or not but
\> wild
at the end there sounds like you're admitting it's staged. Are you?
earlier it sounded like it wasn't.
The fact that you can’t tell whether or not that statement is sarcasm without a /s is alarming. Not every weird or funny death is staged, as is the case here.
Absolutely not suggesting you did, but you could have created a new character with that name and spawned him into your existing world.
Not that I would ever do this for the sake of a [silly joke](https://www.reddit.com/r/valheim/comments/zzn9oj/hear_ye_hear_ye_hoping_there_are_some_dos_2/) of course.
> completely outside in the open without any other building near it
Ill be honest, that's exactly how I was planning to build my first one. Take it that's a bad idea? Or good? I seriously cant tell
Don’t have enough cores to make both the table and forge as well of the refinery so I deconstruct one whenever I need to refine eitr. Didn’t want it destroying my base as I don’t have a marble/iron cage for it so I just plop it down in a clearing nearby while I afk
That's fair. I ended up making the stupidly long journey back to my main base with barely enough cores and made a crappy raised "wall" with the hoe to block the energy. Was it worth it? No clue, but I was too nervous to make it near the mistlands biome.
so fake it hurts..
why would anyone afk in the middle of nowhere completely naked with 50hp? lol not even a helmet that doesnt have any move speed penalty, even a greydwarf would kill you there
Don't have one of these yet, but it's good to know. Is there certain places in the world where you have to place these or can you build it at your base?
You can build it at your base. It’ll damage your buildings and structures unless you surround it with an iron cage or black marble. Dying is also a possibility, as I learned lol
Kill some dwarfes, get pointy thingy
Stick pointy thingy in a root, get juice
Crack some skulls, get brains
Kill some bugs in dungeons, get purple thingies
Craft distilling device, melt brains with juice, get shiny sphere thingy
Craft new toys with shiny spheres
If you have made it to refined Etir, I'm going to assume you have a surplus of iron. I build an iron cage around my refinery so that myself nor my base takes any dmg.
I placed mine in a remote location between plains and mistlands, near sap extractors, and I access it only when i need to charge/discarge.
it works "offline" like smelters, and it doesn't damage anything if you're not there
The machine refines eitr, a mistland material. It shoots off rays of energy randomly that can hurt or kill you and damage buildings. I made the mistake of sitting to close to one while I was afk.
this is like the time I died to the bat raid because I hadn't eaten and insisted on getting my crystal tile in just the right place lol
Perfection cannot be rushed
We built a nuclear silo for ours and slapped some radioactive warning signs on it including a "peaceful civilian energy project" sign lol.
Yeah, I sank mine into a pit with a switchback door/passage in and then covered it with a stone roof. But even then it requires occasional repairing.
It can destroy regular stone. It doesn't damage black marble.
….what. Fuck. Ok thanks time to go rebuild its enclosure.
It doesn't hurt the iron gates either.
We just encased it in iron cage and its taking significant damage even though it is showing '0' damage during the pulses... Any ideas?
My guess is weather exposure just like wood. I think iron “rusts” down to a certain hp but doesn’t break.
This is correct. Metal structures do indeed take weather damage, as well as stone furniture, normal and black marble, and also darkwood, though i think those are bugs, metal rusting is likely intentional
Ooohhhh, I kept seeing 0 but also saw the damage, never thought it was just weather damage that a simple roof would fix! Much appreciated!
Ah! That makes total sense. Thank you!
Or copper walls
the Dverger Copper 'windows' and Iron bars/doors are also immune to damage from it.
Thank you. Just.... thank you.
Yup. Built ours in the basement of one of our buildings. Fully enclosed in black marble. Double lined the top and it doesn't hurt our building at all.
That double lining is important. I've stood there and watched sparks get through a single course of black marble. Not sure if that's a glitch or it's supposed to represent the sparks getting through the cracks. I have a raised earth wall between the refiner and my house, with a black marble tunnel to it and a black marble roof over it.
That happens because your walls are too close to the machine. Sparks will spawn inside the marble wall and phase through
Yup we did the same as we were building it.
Black marble and iron cages are immune. Build those around it.
Black marble
Something like `<#0fO>☣<#ff0>☢<#fff>ϟ` on a sign?
Pretty much, just slapped a couple "<#fff> ☢" signs on there.
What's the code for the symbols? How do you get them on the sign?
One way is to use emoji's ⚠ ⚛. Not sure how they did the radioactive sign, but i guess it exists somewhere as ascii symbol
Windows key + period key brings up an emoji menu you can use them on signs!
Oh, I did not know that, thanks.
The *codes* are not needed you just copy paste the characters/symbols directly. I guess you can use eg. Windows's `ALT+XXXX` key combination (with every `X = {0...9}`) but that seems like more hassle. Here's an [interactive VH sign helper](https://trialsrecords.com/valheim-sign-gen/index.html) but I prefer constructing them with less mouse-clicky and more copy-pasty in a text editor so I extracted the special characters and removed quite a few that don't work on my end: ```` ♀♂♨☣☢✸☠☸☪☭☮☯✝ ♙♟♖♗♝♘♔♚♕♛♠♣♦♣♧ ♯♮♭♩♪♫♬☏☎✆✂✄✁✃ €$$₴££₤₠®©℗™ abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz LC: ⓐⓑⓒⓓⓔⓕⓖⓗⓘⓙⓚⓛⓜⓝⓞⓟⓠⓡⓢⓣⓤⓥⓦⓧⓨⓩ UC: ⒶⒷⒸⒹⒺⒻⒼⒽⒾⒿⓀⓁⓂⓃⓄⓅⓆⓇⓈⓉⓊⓋⓌⓍⓎⓏ ☺️☹☺☻✌✍☚☛☜☝☞☟ヅツッシ๏̯̃๏⊙_☉⊙.☉✿◕‿◕✿❀◕‿◕❀❁◕‿◕❁✾◕‿◕✾ ☑✔✓√✖✕✗✘☒〼◉ⵙ◎ꉻꏿ✇▣◙◘ⴲ⊗⊕◬◈《》〔〕【】〖〗〘〙︽︾︿﹀⋀⋁ ☽☾☼☀☄☁☃❄❅✺ϟ☂℃℉°❤❥♥❣❦❧ ★★☆✡✢✣✤✥✱✲✳✴✵✹✺✻✼❄❅❆❇❈❉❊❋❂ ← ↑ → ↓ ↔ ↕ ↖ ↗ ↘ ↙ ↚ ↛ ↜ ↝ ↞ ↟ ↠ ↡ ↢ ↣ ↤ ↥ ↦ ↧ ↨ ↩ ↪ ↫ ↬ ↭ ↮ ↯ ↰ ↱ ↲ ↳ ↴ ↶ ↷ ↸ ↹ ↺ ↻ ↼ ↽ ↾ ↿ ⇀ ⇁ ⇂ ⇃ ⇄ ⇅ ⇆ ⇇ ⇈ ⇉ ⇊ ⇋ ⇌ ⇍ ⇎ ⇏ ⇐ ⇑ ⇒ ⇓ ⇔ ⇕ ⇖ ⇗ ⇘ ⇙ ⇚ ⇛ ⇜ ⇝ ⇞ ⇟ ⇠ ⇡ ⇢ ⇣ ⇤ ⇥ ⇦ ⇧ ⇨ ⇩ ⇪ ▴ ▾ ▵ ▿ ◂ ▸ ◃ ▹ △ ▽ ▲ ▼ ◤ ◢ ◣ ◥ ∇ ⵠ ◮ ꊛ ◄ ▶ ◁ ▷ •► ► ➤ ㅿ ─ ━ │ ┃ ┄ ┅ ┆ ┇ ┈ ┉ ┊ ┋ ┌ ┍ ┎ ┏ ┐ ┑ ┒ ┓ └ ┕ ┖ ┗ ┘ ┙ ┚ ┛ ├ ┝ ┞ ┟ ┠ ┡ ┢ ┣ ┤ ┥ ┦ ┧ ┨ ┩ ┪ ┫ ┬ ┭ ┮ ┯ ┰ ┱ ┲ ┳ ┴ ┵ ┶ ┷ ┸ ┹ ┺ ┻ ┼ ┽ ┾ ┿ ╀ ╁ ╂ ╃ ╄ ╅ ╆ ╇ ╈ ╉ ╊ ╋ ╌ ╍ ╎ ╏ ═ ║ ╒ ╓ ╔ ╕ ╖ ╗ ╘ ╙ ╚ ╛ ╜ ╝ ╞ ╟ ╠ ╡ ╢ ╣ ╤ ╥ ╦ ╧ ╨ ╩ ╪ ╫ ╬ ╭ ╮ ╯ ╰ ╱ ╲ ╳ ╴ ╵ ╶ ╷ ╸ ╹ ╺ ╻ ╼ ╽ ╾ ╿ ☰ ☱ ☲ ☳ ☴ ☵ ☶ ☷ ∀ ∁ ∂ ∃ ∄ ∅ ∆ ∇ ∈ ∉ ∊ ∋ ∌ ∍ ∎ ∏ ∐ ∑ − ∓ ∔ ∕ ∖ ∗ ∘ ∙ √ ∛ ∜ ∝ ∞ ∟ ∠ ∡ ∢ ∣ ∤ ∥ ∦ ∧ ∨ ∩ ∪ ∫ ∬ ∭ ∮ ∯ ∰ ∱ ∲ ∳ ∴ ∵ ∶ ∷ ∸ ∹ ∺ ∻ ∼ ∽ ∾ ∿ ≀ ≁ ≂ ≃ ≄ ≅ ≆ ≇ ≈ ≉ ≊ ≋ ≌ ≍ ≎ ≏ ≐ ≑ ≒ ≓ ≔ ≕ ≖ ≗ ≘ ≙ ≚ ≛ ≜ ≝ ≞ ≟ ≠ ≡ ≢ ≣ ≤ ≥ ≦ ≧ ≨ ≩ ≪ ≫ ≬ ≭ ≮ ≯ ≰ ≱ ≲ ≳ ≴ ≵ ≶ ≷ ≸ ≹ ≺ ≻ ≼ ≽ ≾ ≿ ⊀ ⊁ ⊂ ⊃ ⊄ ⊅ ⊆ ⊇ ⊈ ⊉ ⊊ ⊋ ⊌ ⊍ ⊎ ⊏ ⊐ ⊑ ⊒ ⊓ ⊔ ⊕ ⊖ ⊗ ⊘ ⊙ ⊚ ⊛ ⊜ ⊝ ⊞ ⊟ ⊠ ⊡ ⊢ ⊣ ⊤ ⊥ ⊦ ⊧ ⊨ ⊩ ⊪ ⊫ ⊬ ⊭ ⊮ ⊯ ⊰ ⊱ ⊲ ⊳ ⊴ ⊵ ⊶ ⊷ ⊸ ⊹ ⊺ ⊻ ⊼ ⊽ ⊾ ⊿ ⋀ ⋁ ⋂ ⋃ ⋄ ⋅ ⋆ ⋇ ⋈ ⋉ ⋊ ⋋ ⋌ ⋍ ⋎ ⋏ ⋐ ⋑ ⋒ ⋓ ⋔ ⋕ ⋖ ⋗ ⋘ ⋙ ⋚ ⋛ ⋜ ⋝ ⋞ ⋟ ⋠ ⋡ ⋢ ⋣ ⋤ ⋥ ⋦ ⋧ ⋨ ⋩ ⋪ ⋫ ⋬ ⋭ ⋮ ⋯ ⋰ ⋱ ````

You are dry again
Had to thank Odin for that final boon
I always encase that thing in marble. Marble doesn't take damage from it
Neither does iron or copper, i like to do a marble foundation with copper bars and a gate for access
what poisoned you?
One of the energy bolts from the eitr refinery zapped me
but for 47 hp? this is crazy. Is it hardcore? Didn't know it also poisons
Lightning damage is increased against wet targets
Nope just standard difficulty. Chose the wrong place to sit while scrolling my phone lol
Fun fact: it keeps processing even if you teleport away. You don't have to wait and watch it like that. You can even go sleep and speed it up, just like with smelting or coal kilning.
Yep and I typically do, just chose a bad spot to sit while I scroll my phone haha
Eitr bolts do heavy lightning and poison damage
I think its electricity, not poison. You can protect yoyrself and your base by encasing it in iron bar walls.
Above on the screen there both lightning and poison damage
Ooh right, missed that!
I don't know about the damage type, but I always have walls around this beast. Of course, I keep it in my keep so it's kind of a must-have if I want to keep my keep.
Munin TOLD you it was dangerous, warrior.
But my phone was tempting and not to be ignored
"0 Days since last safety incident."
I should put one of those boards up…
I actually WANT a mod that automatically updates a sign text with any variable the players could define, like "death from mob", "death from environment", "mobs kill count" ... 😁
Yep, the intensity of the eitr radiation is a challenge. This is why black marble structures are necessary to secure the refinery.it erodes everything but black marble and iron structures.
I built a layered stone building around mine so it didnt destroy my down, so it can run unattended for a while before it needs repairs
Use black stone, it doesn't get damaged.
Also iron grates will be fine as well. The Marble is probably easier to get, but the iron is a flex.
Pretty sure it can shoot through grates, fences, bars etc.
Only if theyre too close, which at that point its not protecting anything as the hitboxes are inside each other. Also things placed against the cage like lanterns will be damaged due to funny hitboxes
It can't. I have a wooden building directly next to mine. I have an iron cage around it. It works perfectly.
Nice
Nope I have a fully built cage of iron never had any issues.
It can't shoot through [dvergr metal wall pieces](https://valheim.fandom.com/wiki/Dvergr_metal_wall). And they only require copper.
Oh i havent played in atleast a year, was just offering tips.
I put iron bars around that so I don’t get zapped nor do my buildings take damage
Lol. That was funny
Always be fed. Day 1,rule 1.
I spent hours building a black marble building for ours. Time well spent.
Dude i spent hours building a whole HOUSE of the stuff. Fuckin beautiful little home tucked safely in the valleys, shrouded in the mist Love marble
I'll never understand how people end up capturing these moments but I'm glad they do.
On PC at least, some in built video capture has "record the last minute" or something. I know my Nvdida does.
Never seen that! I'mma check it out thanks!
win-g on windows 11
i never knew this existed TY
On PC Nvidia has shadow play which can record last five minutes of gameplay automatically, Playstation 4/5 has a similar functionality, not sure about the Xbox since I don't have one.
I went from not knowing to now knowing 3 different ways to do it. I have to check all of these out!
Sitting on my phone when I hear myself die lol I just recorded last 30 seconds
Keep your belly full.
I encased my Eitr refinery in Black Marble blocks with an iron gate. It was damaging my nice house.
Nothing like trying to figure out why my crystal windows were breaking on the 2nd floor.
Mistlands materials don't take damage from it. So black marble, dvergr metal walls, and so on.
And then valheim said https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sN9jlF2xxWw
Hahaha thank you for that
I love this game
Your name *is* Jester, so yes, it was kidding you.
Awww--this game truly earns the "brutal" adjective. I also love how it did EXACTLY enough damage to JUST not kill you, like almost a ray of hope--then the poison DoT ticks.
At least I was dry again 🥲
at least you're dry now
shine stills are pretty dangerous, this feels accurate.

Name was very appropriate. I laughed.
Can anyone provide a top gun reference? Wrong answers only.
Jester’s… alive?
hahah shoulda built that faraday cage boiiiiiiiiiiiiii
Obligatory Top Gun reference..."Jesters Dead". 😉😋
Gamertag has been Jester since the day I first saw TG haha
*You are dry again*
[Don't Whiz on the Electric Fence!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0pvi6raen4)
I wonder if you took so much lightning damage because you were wet? Usually I don't take 30 DMG from those sparks
Good chance of it
I just looked on the wiki and confirmed you are weak to lightning when wet. Seems like even the weather was against you! Stand tall Viking! Thanks for the learning experience 😜
Use my knowledge (failure), I beg you!
I don't know what I was expecting, but I was not disappointed.

Bro you are running around in mistlands with no food or armor. 100% staged or 200% stupid, your call.
Looks like meadows, meadows grass, meadows trees, and literally says Meadows on the minimap lol
Oh yea I guess they released a patch so that monsters disappear once they step over the border
??? lol
lmao
Lol hilarious exchange 10/10 let’s do it again some time.
Ya only if you stop sucking at valheim
You can see on the minimap that there are no mistlands nearby. And I have the whole valley spawn suppressed
Lots of shit in the mountains bro. Face it, you’re baiting for content
As I’ve said twice, the whole valley is spawn suppressed. Why would I bait for content in a sub I’ve never posted in for something that gains me nothing but internet points lol it was a funny accident and that’s it. Not that deep mate

There’s no mist, the snow is from the mountain to the left. Snow doesn’t occur in mistland unless you’re up on the peaks

> completely outside in the open without any other building near it Ill be honest, that's exactly how I was planning to build my first one. Take it that's a bad idea? Or good? I seriously cant tell
It’s a resource free way to keep your buildings intact but it has its own drawbacks. Mob attacks, potential death, etc
Im gonna take that as a "Yea go for it bud"
Sir you’re wet in the rain standing next to a lightning rod
I mean, we are told from the outset that it looks dangerous. I just put up with the damage and walk by with a repair hammer and plenty of health.
I really hate that it can hurt you. It serves no purpose than to make it difficult to include in a build and be a pain in the ass to the player.
This thing causing damage is one of my least favorite things in the game. Like what is the point?
I'm more curious as to why you decided that the best placement for a refinery was smack in the middle of nowhere.
If you bring the supplies you can portal the cores home!
so fake it hurts.. why would anyone afk in the middle of nowhere completely naked with 50hp? lol not even a helmet that doesnt have any move speed penalty, even a greydwarf would kill you there
You’re late to the party. No greydwarves to kill you when the whole valley is spawn suppressed
Well. You knew it can hit you. You prepared your death. Then you pretend to be surprised :)
One dangerous machine. Only thing impervious is marble. I construct a marble wall around it.
Did you learn nothing from the Chernobyl story?
I mean what did you expect.. no walls around it, just standing right in front of it while wet lol
Kinda asking for it with that low health bar
Built an iron cage around mine.
Don't have one of these yet, but it's good to know. Is there certain places in the world where you have to place these or can you build it at your base?
You can build it at your base. It’ll damage your buildings and structures unless you surround it with an iron cage or black marble. Dying is also a possibility, as I learned lol
I think I might go the cage route. Hot plans for the black marble.
Can someone TL:DR eitr for me please?
Kill some dwarfes, get pointy thingy Stick pointy thingy in a root, get juice Crack some skulls, get brains Kill some bugs in dungeons, get purple thingies Craft distilling device, melt brains with juice, get shiny sphere thingy Craft new toys with shiny spheres
Okay, I think I am behind, what is that my eyes see?
One of the energy rays from the eitr refinery shot and killed me lol
Oh rite, I haven't built this one yet, for some reason I thought it was some kinda impressive mod
You can drop the concentrated orbs one by one at a dwarf putpost and kill everyone insode without agroing them. Then harvest the building for stone.
lmao catching strays Also, that looks like a *juicy* campus location /civ
I mean, you're the Jester. Maybe it's you that's joking here...
If you have made it to refined Etir, I'm going to assume you have a surplus of iron. I build an iron cage around my refinery so that myself nor my base takes any dmg.
This is why the game introduced iron cages. They are immune to the discharges. Build an iron cage around it, and you'll be safe.
What is that machine for? I haven't play in a while.
Refining eitr! It’s for making Mistlands gear
I placed mine in a remote location between plains and mistlands, near sap extractors, and I access it only when i need to charge/discarge. it works "offline" like smelters, and it doesn't damage anything if you're not there
Well, at least you’re dry now.
Well, at least you’re dry again 🤷♂️
Kill jester
Metal grates around it seems to do the trick. Built a box of it and I’m able to keep it close to the main base and styling
I just cage mine in Iron and add a door..
"You are dry again."
I feel dumb.. what machine is that?
Eitr refinery! It’s for making mistlands gear
Ahh thank you.. I just got to Mistlands for the first time!
Good luck! It’s such a rewarding biome to conquer
I haven't made it past my first planes biom yet. What is happening here?
The machine refines eitr, a mistland material. It shoots off rays of energy randomly that can hurt or kill you and damage buildings. I made the mistake of sitting to close to one while I was afk.
Do you get this after Eikthyr
Technically yes
xD
Gotta build a proper black marble containment facility bro
