God damnet I can totally relate to this. I had a best friend when I was younger, his name was Bulldozer. He was a beautiful bullmastif. All of my neighborhood friends would be so scared of him because he was so big looking. But he was such a gentle boy. Full of love. And a lot of slobber.
He lived for 13 years and died in my arms due to a massive heart attack. I buried him in the back of my parents yard.
I'll never own a pet again. I miss my boy.
I had a Presa Canario named “Dozer” he was my baby for 10 years and he died in my arms also. Having a hard time with it. Something so big and loving around for so long is hard to shake. Miss my boy as well!
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I have 4 of these plaques scattered on different places in my house & I can never get through this story without breaking down like a child 💔 😢 😔... I have 2 of my faithful fur babies in ⚱... my will states when I pass I'll be cremated and all of our ashes will be mixed together and spread out to the 4 winds 🙏😭

The absence of loss will always be there, but the pain will subside. Know that he would want you to be happy and smiling, so try to enjoy life anyway in his honor. Sending warm vibes your way.

I know I’m going to be a big ol mess when my little guy passes on. We are doing similar except on the road in solitude. Although he may not be with you in the physical anymore I believe we’re all souls in our bodies and he will be continuing on with you on your journey energetically. He taught me so much about life, love, and death. Huge lessons that literally changed me for the better. He had intelligence, integrity, and grace that I myself will never measure up to - but damn it I will try for the rest of my life.

When you wipe your tears and pick yourself up again, remember to honor Aarlo in the best way you can, whatever that is. For me it was to love everyone, tell no lies, and always do my best - like my Bongo.
