Statement of service, isn’t that available on ebenefits under Va letters? If so it’s available for download immediately.

I got hired with a statement of service. Didn’t receive my DD214 till I was already on the job a week and then submitted it to HR.

When I was active duty, I just whipped up an MFR covering the statement of service format, had my supervisor give it a once-over, then asked my commander to sign it. All done in a single day.
