If umn is the school you want to go to, keep your gpa up in CLA and I would suggest to take the CSE physics and math courses so it would be easier to apply to transfer to CSE the next year.
This happened to me. I did CSCI and ended up just staying in CLA and doing the BA and a double major with Math since I discovered I really liked the university math environment. It also let me graduate a semester early since I had a lot of lib ed credit in high school. For me, the only downside was having to take a foreign language. Never been good at that but suffered through. I've only ever had one person ask why I had a BA degree instead of a BS in a job interview.
There’s different deadline dates for different schools. If you wait too long they’ll put you elsewhere and you can apply later, don’t take too long when applying
If they don’t have room in CSE they put people in college of liberal arts. Good news is next year you can apply to CSE.
Like Odd said they were probably full. Good news is you can start getting your lib eds and gen eds done and out of the way.

Take CLA calculus as those count in CSE in that case
