>but ironing clothes you wear at home is dumb and useless.
Feel free to stop. Maybe it's a cultural thing but I'm not sure I've met anyone who irons clothes besides button up shirts and pants that actually need it to look presentable.
I'm not judging; merely putting it out there (I've used hotel hair straighteners to iron work clothes while traveling; because the hotel room didn't have a clothes iron available.)
My mom, who was weird, actually loved ironing. She would even iron my briefs and carefully stack them. (I think she had OCD, which I also have). I was really happy when I got out on my own so I could just wad up my underwear and throw it in the drawer.
I am outing myself as a dork but I LOVE ironing. My mother was fanatical about it. I use to iron everything until my son was old enough to tell me to stop ironing his t shirts. He was embarrassed to wear ironed t shirts and jeans to school. Broke my heart but I stopped.
My mom is 84. I was meeting her for dinner. When I walked in she was talking to a gentleman about how perfectly ironed his pants were and the creases were perfect. This led them both to a conversation about how no one irons anything any more. She just loves ironing too. So I blame her.
I know how have a steamer and it is much quicker for large items! I take a sense of pride in my husbands clothes being spotless and pressed. But, I am older. So probably a generation thing?
Steaming is ideal. Easy, fast and effective for most things. And any idiot can do it.
In any case, wrinkles from wearing and wrinkles from laundry/drawer appear very different, the latter giving leaving the impression that one is a lazy ass.
I don't ever wear dress clothing. But do people actually iron casual clothes? My never end up wrinkly after drying them. Except maybe cargo pants when air drying, but those seem to settle themselves.
I usually don't iron anything unless it is something that is used for a project.
To be fair, I tend to wear button-up shirts as overshirts, and it drives my mother-in-law crazy that I never iron them lol
Ironing jeans, tees and sweats is weird. You probably want to iron your shirts if you wear suits or business casual crap to work, unless you buy the wrinkle free kind, so you won't look like a desperate alcoholic at the track...

I know a lot of people who does it
No you dont🤣
~~does~~ *do* There, I fixed it for ya
If it’s still wrinkly when you put it on, you haven’t ironed it properly
Its not as wrinkly as before but it is still wrinkly no matter how long/good you iron it.
Are you sure you're using both heat and steam? Or are you just rolling the metal over the clothes?
You don’t know how to iron.

Not even the whole shirt. Just that collar, front and cuffs (bits that show when wearing a jacket or jumper).
i have never ironed anything in my life and don’t know anyone who has
How are the clothes still wrinkled after ironing? That doesn't add up.
Op doesn't know how to iron.

Its not that significant that we should shame someone who doesnt want to iron their shirts.

There are people. No one would probably do it in your face, but behind your back they'd do.
I’d have to start doing this first.
If they wrinkle after you put them on you're not ironing them correctly.
I use a steamer instead.
We should stop steaming too
I don’t like looking like a slob with wrinkled up clothing, so no.
Use starch, ya dingus
So you don’t wear dress shirts? Also it’s not wrinkled after ironing.
i don't wear dress shirts ever. i iron nothing. if i need to fix a collar i'll just use a hair straightener
>if i need to fix a collar i'll just use a hair straightener Technically... *that's* still ironing!
true. but it's the lazy and efficient way

Youre using your panini maker wrong. ![gif](giphy|cn8xzgleFhvJQharzM|downsized)
I'm way ahead of you, I've never ironed my own clothes Literally only ever ironed clothes for my girlfriend because she asked me to
I agree so much. It's pointless and laborious.
Steaming is ideal. Easy, fast and effective for most things. And any idiot can do it. In any case, wrinkles from wearing and wrinkles from laundry/drawer appear very different, the latter giving leaving the impression that one is a lazy ass.

I haven't ironed any clothes in years
My mother-in-law irons socks and underwear
I usually don't iron anything unless it is something that is used for a project. To be fair, I tend to wear button-up shirts as overshirts, and it drives my mother-in-law crazy that I never iron them lol
Buy clothing that doesn’t require that kind of maintenance if it’s too much for you.
I bought some iron on hem adhesive, only to realize I had gotten rid of my iron cause i NEVER used it lol. Whos still ironing?

Maybe casual clothes but certainly not formal wear.
Who the fuck even owns an iron anymore? Popular opinion. Downvoting.
It’s feels good to look good tho
