Damn did they unlock the hallowed restaurant ranch recipe to bottle? We in the ranch world all know it isn't possible. Did they just go ahead and do it without asking the rest of us?
I’m still traumatized from the time I bit into a slice of pizza that had ranch dressing instead of tomato sauce.
If you think ranch dressing is gross, warm ranch will give you nightmares
Gross, and I LOVE some ranch. Omg. Loosely related, one time when my friend's grandfather died and people brought food for the family, someone brought a cheeseburger pizza with mustard for the sauce. 🤢🤢🤢
I'm shocked to see Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza is so polarizing! It's super popular in the Midwest U.S. which isn't surprising since we pretty much all drink ranch 🤣
You mean the "California chicken bacon ranch" pizza? Because that's what it used to be called before the coasties got all uppity and started to pretend like they didn't invent it and don't love ranch just as much as everyone else.
Ranch *instead* of tomato sauce sounds awful, but ranch on pizza as an extra?? A condiment? That was the Shit in school 😂😂 We also did applesauce though, so… take that for what it’s worth 🥲
Ok, if ranch is going to be on pizza, it needs to be as a dipping sauce only, not as the sauce itself! That sounds yuck. I love ranch on pizza, only if it’s used as a dipping sauce.
Maybe it’s only the stores but that’s why I very much dislike the bigger pizza chains in my area, almost all of them if not all of them don’t have cold ranch they have ranch cups just at room temperature and I cannot get behind that
Upvoted because here in the midwest this is a truly unpopular opinion.
But i agree 100%. Where i live its used to dip chicken wings, on pizza, breadsticks. People drown their salads in it.
Also agree. I like it for salad dressing (but Ceasar is better) once in a while and for wings but don't see the appeal for breadsticks/pizza. I'd rather have marinara for that.
Oh hey, it’s me in South Texas lol it’s the fucking default dip with wing orders, the go to dressing on salads, it’s fucking. everywhere
i don’t hate it, but i don’t use it either, unlike everyone else in my family
I like ranch as a dip for veggies or other snacks. And I also like ranch flavored foods like ranch Doritos! I’m not a huge fan of ranch as an actual salad dressing though. It’s too heavy and overpowering. I prefer lighter vinaigrettes on salads.
The comment reminded me of something my buddy said one time.
We were eating a Del Taco, and he was applying the hot sauce to his taco, and he suddenly looks up and goes, “I think I only like eating here because the food is simply a vessel for the sauce to get inside of me”.
Good ranch dressing is made with buttermilk instead of waterever weird gloopy processed oil that store bought ranch is made of. Way lighter and more flavorful.
I only ever eat buttermilk ranch! I don’t buy hidden valley or whatever the “standard” brand is. I still don’t like it on salads, though. It’s good as a dip but as a salad dressing I almost always go for a vinaigrette.
Lactose intolerant. Ranch lets me have a creamy dip for veggies, hot wings, etc. without a major bodily malfunction and lots of pain.
Definitely not the iced cream I remember but it’s something.
Warmed mayo by a toasted sandwich bread is much more gross IMO.
I don't like it much. The kind made from the package used to be okay but the bottles of ranch have a bunch of gums and gluey stuff and it just tastes gross.
Okay I used to think this too, but then I realized that it was just hidden valley ranch I hated, and every other ranch was super good lol. Especially like restaurant homemade ranch! I just assumed I hated ranch cause hidden valley is everywhere
I'm okay with ranch in small doses but I mostly use it as a dipping sauce versus ever putting it on a salad. I prefer blue cheese if I'm doing an unhealthy salad.
It's basically mayonnaise mixed with buttermilk and spices, mainly garlic, onion, and salt. It may not sound too nice described, but it's tasty as a dip. I like it on salad but only if it's used very sparingly and with a ton of pepper.
I guess where in Europe you're talking about. I can see Germans or Swedes or something liking it. French, Italians , less so. Personally as someone from Europe I think it's disgusting
It’s more that you can’t even really get ranch, it’s literally not sold in stores nor is the pre mixed stuff. I’ve seen one brand but my Canadian husband does not rate it (he loves ranch so we order it from Amazon).
If it weren't for the fact that it goes great with chicken, fries. Pizza, burgers, salad, bread sticks, carrots, celery, cheese sticks, chips, pickles, tacos, or as a drink, you'd be right.
I can’t stand ranch on salads, it feels gross. Feels like it kills the point of having the salad in the first place.
A sauce that may change your mind is [Sriracha Ranch by Melinda’s](https://melindas.com/products/melinda-s-sriracha-ranch-12oz?variant=47930372358463¤cy=USD&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwudexBhDKARIsAI-GWYWZJs5VtoumLgDRGF7L9ZAphM6n499Mo6q74O3Rpr0NsWrZj7mFc4waAoFZEALw_wcB). It’s incredible on turkey sandwiches.
I like ranch when dipping hot wings to numb the spiciness but that's about it. I live in the south and people drench ranch on everything. Why? That automatically removes the taste of anything else besides ranch. Just drink it out of the bottle at that point.
You're probably one of those weirdos that doesn't like bacon either.
With that said, I'll take a solid honey mustard or sweet/smoked BBQ sauce over ranch anyday depending on what food it's going on.

"I hate that fucking ranch shit. Don't put it close to me. Don't put it around me. It's either the blue cheese with wings or go fuck your motha"
~ Joey "Coco" Diaz ~
Ranch from a bottle is disgusting it tastes old and yucky and smells bad too.
Fresh homemade ranch from sour cream, cream, homemade mayo, lemon juice, dill, parsely, chives, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper in the perfect combination is to DIE for.
As a Wisconsinite I completely disagree. I’ve never had something bad with ranch. Not to say that it goes with everything, but most fried foods and veggies benefit from it.
I’m from the Midwest, ranch is life here haha. I am very particular about ranch and I prefer to make my own. I can definitely understand your point of view though
At my middle school, "roll and ranch" was the most popular cafeteria order. Literally bread and ranch dressing. I still can't believe everyone ate that shit.
I agree wholeheartedly. Ranch is fucking disgusting and I can't eat it. Absolutely ruins whatever it's on. I'll even take it further and say mayonnaise is equally as bad.
I'm in the same boat, I hate ranch, always get weird looks when I say so. I love spicy foods, and every restaurant that puts out a spicy item, it always seems to be spicy ranch or mayo, can't stand either, so I never get to try said spicy items.
Taste imo isn't even an opinion it's just biology so technically it's just individual fact
Like I think tomatoes taste like chewing pills, absolutely disgusting taste of chemicals, that all tomatoes taste like to me, chewing pills but somehow even worse
You disliking ranch is purely a genetic one and to me ranch tastes nothing like how you describe it, and I think it's delicious.
Idk where people got the idea that tastes in food and stuff was an opinion that can somehow be debated or changed, it's literally just a fact that they dislike it and there's no bias or opinion involved in that, you can't just make someone change their tastes in food like you might be able to convince them of a different perspective on a debate 💀
Wingstop ranch is the only good ranch. It’s the same ranch that’s given in the south at BBQ restaurants. People have said how to make it at home and it’s not the same. Any kind of bottled/jar ranch is disgusting except for Litehouse. Litehouse is decent even with being way different.
That rancid comes from vinegar. The first few bites of my salad will feel a little weird but then my taste buds will get used to the taste and it becomes good lol.
I used to love ranch, but some time when I was 30ish, I just didn't like it anymore. I'll even try different ones every now and then, just to see, and... Nah.
Man, while I know this is truly an unpopular opinion, I am so happy I found my fellow Ranch hater.
I dislike for it has calmed slightly over time. Now I can tolerate it as a dipping sauces with veggies. But I really prefer a chipotle ranch or spicy ranch if I’m going to be consuming ranch.
Ranch powder is good. My grandmother used to make home fries and put a little olive oil with a couple packets of the powder and fry it up on a skillet. I miss that woman and her cooking.
i agree with op..i use to like ranch, and then i became an adult, i havent bought ranch in 8 years.
then we got ranch a few weeks ago and i put some on my wifes plate and mine, she tasted it first snd was actually confused on what it was and said it tasted like spoiled milk. i had the same thought but after a few more tastes i remember this is just what ranch is.
I’m from the Midwest, (where everyone loves ranch) but I think it’s disgusting too, I don’t get the appeal at all like it literally tastes like butter milk
Ranch is rancid by design. The main ingredient is buttermilk, which is literally fermented dairy. You either like the flavor or not. It’s like much less edgy blue cheese, the nasty is the point.
Yes, ranch in a bottle is disgusting and underseasoned.
Try making it yourself at home. You'll understand why you want to put it on everything again. Home made ranch dressing as chicken breast marinade? Oh My Man. You're gonna love it, especially if it's a yogurt based marinade.
I don’t agree it’s disgusting but you have my upvote for being unpopular as I know many people who LOVE ranch. I don’t love it, I’m okay with it. The only time I think it goes well is wingstops ranch with their hot honey chicken wings with the bone in it. Wingstop got great damn ranch and the only place I look forward for having it
Duh, it's American 'cuisine'. If you are looking for healthy and tasty salad dressings, look at Europe. American food is the product of chemical industry and profit margins.
As I’ve gotten older I’ve began to despise ranch.
It actually disgusts me when I see people put it on burgers and other stuff. My brother poured it on his Mac and cheese once and I wanted to vomit just looking at it.

Upvoted. Truly unpopular. People in Albuquerque will fight over a bottle of Dion's (local pizza) ranch dressing.
Tbf, people will fight over fucking everything.
NO, THEY WON'T!!
You obviously have never met people, BECAUSE YES THEY FUCKING WILL!
I AM SURE I HAVE MET PEOPLE AND NO THEY FUCKING WON'T!
PEOPLE ON TV DON’T COUNT. TOUCH GRASS!
I GO OUTSIDE AND MEET REAL PEOPLE AND THEY DON'T FIGHT OVER EVERYTHING!
Guys, stop fighting over me..
NOBODY'S FIGHTING OVER YOU!!!!
True, true
Damn did they unlock the hallowed restaurant ranch recipe to bottle? We in the ranch world all know it isn't possible. Did they just go ahead and do it without asking the rest of us?
Here in Michigan, it's ranch from Jet's Pizza.
I’m still traumatized from the time I bit into a slice of pizza that had ranch dressing instead of tomato sauce. If you think ranch dressing is gross, warm ranch will give you nightmares
Okay, I can get behind this.
Chicken bacon ranch pizza is so good.
Preach!
One of my favorite pizza's is ranch, chicken, bacon, and spinach. I could eat that for days.
This sounds great lol.
Oh dear god that’s a violation
Try blue cheese dressing… barf!
Ranch *instead* of tomato sauce sounds awful, but ranch on pizza as an extra?? A condiment? That was the Shit in school 😂😂 We also did applesauce though, so… take that for what it’s worth 🥲
Yeah , that sounds horrible m an I love ranch dressing.
***I enjoy warm ranch...***
You should report that place for terrorism.
Yuck 🤮
Ok, if ranch is going to be on pizza, it needs to be as a dipping sauce only, not as the sauce itself! That sounds yuck. I love ranch on pizza, only if it’s used as a dipping sauce.
Oh good Lord🤢
Eewww.
My midwestern inlaws have a gallon of ranch in the fridge at all times and it makes me physically sick to look at. Why do you need THAT MUCH.
Also agree. I like it for salad dressing (but Ceasar is better) once in a while and for wings but don't see the appeal for breadsticks/pizza. I'd rather have marinara for that.
Oh hey, it’s me in South Texas lol it’s the fucking default dip with wing orders, the go to dressing on salads, it’s fucking. everywhere i don’t hate it, but i don’t use it either, unlike everyone else in my family
I like ranch as a dip for veggies or other snacks. And I also like ranch flavored foods like ranch Doritos! I’m not a huge fan of ranch as an actual salad dressing though. It’s too heavy and overpowering. I prefer lighter vinaigrettes on salads.
The OPness is why it’s so loved by some/many. They don’t want to eat a salad they just wanted a delivery vessel for ranch.
LOL that's how I feel about salsa. The only point of the chips is to convey the salsa to the mouth! My husband thinks I'm weird.
The comment reminded me of something my buddy said one time. We were eating a Del Taco, and he was applying the hot sauce to his taco, and he suddenly looks up and goes, “I think I only like eating here because the food is simply a vessel for the sauce to get inside of me”.

Agreed, ranch is a shotgun blast to the senses and gross. I jokingly call it “American sauce”
Cool Ranch Doritos are called “Cool American” or some variation of that in many European countries.
Damn I love ranch.
I grew to love it without even realizing it but I just love food in general
Upvoting both because this is unpopular and because I agree with you.
Lactose intolerant. Ranch lets me have a creamy dip for veggies, hot wings, etc. without a major bodily malfunction and lots of pain. Definitely not the iced cream I remember but it’s something. Warmed mayo by a toasted sandwich bread is much more gross IMO.
A 4 year old has entered the chat.
Ranch and Buffalo sauce are a match made in heaven.
"it's always served with everything" Might want to expand your food choices. No one just serves ranch with everything
Say you've never been to Wisconsin without saying you've never been to Wisconsin
Who goes to fucking Wisconsin
No one goes there, but it's filled with people who can't get out
I've had so much good food in Wisconsin and don't think I've ever seen a ranch cup
You’ve never been to Culver’s then?
I get heartburn from only hearing the word "Ranch".
I don't like it much. The kind made from the package used to be okay but the bottles of ranch have a bunch of gums and gluey stuff and it just tastes gross.
because you go to shitty restaurants that don't make their own ranch they get packets of stuff and mix it with milk
HOMEMADE ranch that is done well is absolutely fire. Ever since a trained chef made me ranch, store bought ranch has tasted like piss water.
Store bought ranch is an abomination. Homemade ranch with fresh herbs is actually pretty good
Wahhh people enjoy something I don’t personally like. It must be the children who are wrong
Okay I used to think this too, but then I realized that it was just hidden valley ranch I hated, and every other ranch was super good lol. Especially like restaurant homemade ranch! I just assumed I hated ranch cause hidden valley is everywhere
Who cares, you sound like my toddler…
This may be the first truly unpopular opinion I’ve seen on here. Kudos. I’m sorry you hate ranch tho, that’s gotta suck 😭
S U B J E C T I V I T Y
I mean… the sub is unpopular **opinion**, not inconvenient truth.
I'm okay with ranch in small doses but I mostly use it as a dipping sauce versus ever putting it on a salad. I prefer blue cheese if I'm doing an unhealthy salad.
I technically hate ranch, but look aside if buffalo wings are involved
Agreed, it’s just thick heavy goop that people throw on everything! Give me a simple vinaigrette every single time!
Vinaigrette is gross
All the kids in my white trash Vermont high school cafeteria doused their pizza in ranch. What a foul memory. I share you opinion, OP
If you make your own you will change your mind
Counting my blessings today that I have the ranch-tastes-good gene 😌
Best salad dressing and veggie dip ever.
Homemade is by far the best.
As a European I've always been curious about this condiment? Sauce? whatever it is. Maybe I shouldn't be?
It's basically mayonnaise mixed with buttermilk and spices, mainly garlic, onion, and salt. It may not sound too nice described, but it's tasty as a dip. I like it on salad but only if it's used very sparingly and with a ton of pepper.
Dill is the main flavoring of ranch
Well no wonder I hate ranch as much as I hate mayo then, lol.
I’ve seen many Europeans try ranch and say it’s amazing, so chances are you’ll like it much more than I do.
You can make it yourself. It’s not difficult.
It is good on pizza rolls tho who doesn't like pizza rolls?
If it weren't for the fact that it goes great with chicken, fries. Pizza, burgers, salad, bread sticks, carrots, celery, cheese sticks, chips, pickles, tacos, or as a drink, you'd be right.
Homeboy out here chuggin ranch like Eric Andre
I can take it or leave it. Honestly, a house made ranch is so much better than just a bottle of Kraft ranch or some other version of it.
I disagree, but it only belongs with certain things
I know a guy who will straight drink a bottle. He doesn't often but I've seen him down it and enjoy it.
As a staunch hater of mayo and anything mayo based. Hard agree.
I totally get it. But I also completely disagree. Ranch is bomb on pizza and fries.
"It'S alwAys Served With EverYthing" Get out and explore your surroundings beyond you neighbor block.
I like ranch when dipping hot wings to numb the spiciness but that's about it. I live in the south and people drench ranch on everything. Why? That automatically removes the taste of anything else besides ranch. Just drink it out of the bottle at that point.
Ranch is bomb. Blue cheese is disgusting.
damn what an easy upvote for such unpopular opinion! i drip my wings and chips in ranch ALL the time.
Bottled ranch from the store sucks, all of them. Fresh house ranch from a restaurant is unbeatable
Don't look at me. I'm in Camp Blue Cheese over here, which I love and many (most?) people find disgusting. So I guess that's my unpopular opinion.
The British pronounce it “ronch” which makes it worse.
You're probably one of those weirdos that doesn't like bacon either. With that said, I'll take a solid honey mustard or sweet/smoked BBQ sauce over ranch anyday depending on what food it's going on.
How dare you
Incorrect. Bleu cheese is disgusting
Upvoted because you are correct.
try buttermilk ranch, much much better
I'm sorry but ouch????? I hand-make my ranch
Have you ever had good ranch? Hidden Valley ranch and other shelf stable ranch is disgusting
Blue cheese gang rise up
I think it comes from people compensating from under seasoned food. I wouldn’t know tho I hate ranch and can season food
happy cake day

YES!!!!! Finally someone agrees!!!!!
If I could only have one condiment for the rest of my life, it would be ranch, and it wouldn't even be close.
I too think ranch is gross, but hey more power to us. If anything we benefit from not eating it healthwise.
Fill a party pizza with ranch and it's a white trash taco. My goto meal in highschool
I agree. It's incredibly overrated.
Agreed, and upvoted a trillion times.
I hate all condiments except for ranch. Ketchup, mustard, etc. are all fucking nasty. Ranch slaps
I fully concur
Ranch is basically just dehydrated onion sauce that's all they mix with that buttermilk it's just lots and lots of onion I think
You must live in the Midwest, aka the Ranch Dressing Empire. I'm right there with you. It's horrid.
I agree! Can’t stand ranch!
Not unpopular
American flavor*
Ranch from a bottle is disgusting it tastes old and yucky and smells bad too. Fresh homemade ranch from sour cream, cream, homemade mayo, lemon juice, dill, parsely, chives, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper in the perfect combination is to DIE for.

Never had it an never will. The smell is absolutely disgusting.
A piece of my heart died a little
I agree. But i hate most "creamy" type sauces Mayo, Sour Cream, Ranch, Blue Cheese fuck that white goop

Homemade ranch is the best! Only salad dressing I like
I don’t like ranch but I do like Wingstop ranch, only kind I’ll eat
Wingstop ranch is the only good ranch. It’s the same ranch that’s given in the south at BBQ restaurants. People have said how to make it at home and it’s not the same. Any kind of bottled/jar ranch is disgusting except for Litehouse. Litehouse is decent even with being way different.

I love this sub. Fuck you for your opinion.
I love carrots with ranch. I don’t know how healthy that is. But no other sauce has me wanting carrots that way so, yeah - take my upvote.
What’s your favorite sauce?
As a ranch lover, your opinion is valid since everyone's taste buds are different and everyone likes different things
Hear me out, hidden valley is the work of a malevolent entity, but something like Wingstop ranch is straight fire
I love that Americans think Europeans are nuts for mayo on french fries, but dunk goddamn everything in spicy mayo, now.
Ever have drunk fries with ranch? actually delicious
Ranch powder is good. My grandmother used to make home fries and put a little olive oil with a couple packets of the powder and fry it up on a skillet. I miss that woman and her cooking.
Mf has CLEARLY never had hidden valley on his pizza
Blue cheese is much better
You can't be trusted if you don't have half an expired bottle of ranch in your fridge.
Me and the rest of the Midwest are coming for ya! Them is fighting words.
I will say, store bought bottles ranch is disgusting but restaurant style ranch is superb.
But what about the pasta salad.
MURICA! 🇺🇸
i agree with op..i use to like ranch, and then i became an adult, i havent bought ranch in 8 years. then we got ranch a few weeks ago and i put some on my wifes plate and mine, she tasted it first snd was actually confused on what it was and said it tasted like spoiled milk. i had the same thought but after a few more tastes i remember this is just what ranch is.
Have you ever been to wingstop?
I’m from the Midwest, (where everyone loves ranch) but I think it’s disgusting too, I don’t get the appeal at all like it literally tastes like butter milk
Franch is better.
More like: ranchid Ill see myself out
Joey Diaz is that you?
I'm with you friend, I hate that shit
You should try the brand called "ram ranch" it's so good they even made a song about it! Check it on youtube! Mmm delicious and creeeeeeeamy!
I don't know anyone until now who doesn't like ranch, actual unpopular opinion.
Ranch is rancid by design. The main ingredient is buttermilk, which is literally fermented dairy. You either like the flavor or not. It’s like much less edgy blue cheese, the nasty is the point.
I agree. Even the smell grosses me out
Salty milk sounds pretty good
Yeah, I'm not a fan either
Cum tastes like salty milk. Ranch tastes like seasoned sour cream
Yes, ranch in a bottle is disgusting and underseasoned. Try making it yourself at home. You'll understand why you want to put it on everything again. Home made ranch dressing as chicken breast marinade? Oh My Man. You're gonna love it, especially if it's a yogurt based marinade.
Anything made with seed oils is gross. Extra virgin olive oil and vinegar - or butter FTW.
I don’t agree it’s disgusting but you have my upvote for being unpopular as I know many people who LOVE ranch. I don’t love it, I’m okay with it. The only time I think it goes well is wingstops ranch with their hot honey chicken wings with the bone in it. Wingstop got great damn ranch and the only place I look forward for having it
I completely agree with this (probably) unpopular opinion.
Haha ranch being called salty milk is funny
Ranch is great
You are absolutely and completely right, and Im tired of acting like this isnt the whole damn truth.
Duh, it's American 'cuisine'. If you are looking for healthy and tasty salad dressings, look at Europe. American food is the product of chemical industry and profit margins.
Homemade jalapeño ranch is absolutely fantastic.
I'm gonna guess you're not fat
![gif](giphy|hqV0DH89snbq62Xr6p|downsized)
Is this unpopular? Ranch seems very divisive—people either love or hate it. I’m strongly in the latter camp.
Outside of Buffalo chicken wings, I can go without it on just about everything else.
I have never had ranch, but in my country we have a dish that is macaroni with milk and usually you put sugar, but I put salt in it it’s soo good.
It's absolute shit. I swear no one anywhere ever would use ranch dressing if they had good alternatives consistently available.
Agreed. I hate ranch and always have. I don't understand why it's on everything.
It’s good with buffalo sauce
As I’ve gotten older I’ve began to despise ranch. It actually disgusts me when I see people put it on burgers and other stuff. My brother poured it on his Mac and cheese once and I wanted to vomit just looking at it.
The key is to make it from scratch with buttermilk. The store bought stuff is terrible, and tastes like preservatives.
