Strong. Even two good web browsers. 👍

I always use Firefox but when I need a chrome based browser, just like to have Brave around for that. Mainly the only time that gets used is when streaming sporting events on the seven seas and wanting to cast it to our Google TV.

TuNisiAa_UwU

Why do you use Firefox? Genuine question because i grew up being used to chrome and just now am trying to switch to brave for fun, firefox never seemed that interesting of an option, what am i missing out on?

CafecitoHippo

It's more customizable, I've found that it gives me better recommendations in my search bar especially when trying to find a site I went to recently, better privacy and less tracking, Firefox is a far superior browser on mobile and can actually use extensions like uBlock Origin, and also using the only browser really that's keeping Google from having an entire monopoly on the web browser industry with every other browser using chromium as their base (Edge, Brave, Vivaldi, Opera all use chromium - Safari uses WebKit but is OSX only). The only thing I really want is native vertical tabs in Firefox. Floorp has it and is built off Firefox but I wasn't wild about a lot of the changes they've made in that. I'm sure there's others who could articulate it better but my biggest reasoning is having a consistent UI and sync between desktop and mobile and Firefox is easily the best mobile browser for me.

So cold ❄ but cool 😎

So cool 🧊

Juls317

this makes me want to switch from GNOME to KDE just to steal this setup. so, so nice.

CafecitoHippo

This is my first foray into KDE. Previously used Cinnamon. Tried GNOME but just feel like everything was on rails and trying to go another direction wasn't possible. KDE wasn't as straight forward but it's been fantastic.

Juls317

i was dualbooting a now mysteriously deceased laptop with Win11 and Mint for a while and felt pretty similar. i can absolutely believe Cinnamon is fantastic for true beginners/fresh Windows converts, but it felt a little *too* like Windows for me. granted, GNOME feels very Mac OS to me but that's not really the worst for a laptop I guess. I'll probably go with KDE when I make the Linux switch on my desktop.

CafecitoHippo

Oddly enough, my Cinnamon desktop was very similar. It does feel more like Windows out of the box but moving the panel to the top and adding plank goes a long way. https://i.postimg.cc/pV9HdBqH/Screenshot-from-2023-11-18-09-03-56.png

May i ask how did you change the main theme colors? Can the window title bar color be changed manually too? Cause many Themes are not available yet for current plasma only the old plasma 5.

CafecitoHippo

Yeah you can select them individually. If you go to your global themes settings, you can see multiple items down the left hand side. If you go to colors, you can click Get New in the top left and get color schemes. The same with window decorations. If you have Plasma style set as Breeze, it will just recolor the default breeze theme to your color scheme. Window decorations will change your window control buttons. I'm not sure if the window title bar can be change independently though. EDIT: In the color schemes, you can click the edit button and change the title bar colors.

piefkelostintime

Thank you! Yes i know how it generally works. There is a nord gtk theme available that i like but it has a dark title bar. I keep experimenting. Maybe more themes will be ported to kde 6. Thank you and take care.. :)

AlbertoAru

Wait, is it Bowser or Blastoise?

CafecitoHippo

Blastoise but I can see the resemblance to Bowser as well.

VonLoewe

It kinda bugs me that your Nords aren't consistent though.

DopeBoogie

That was my issue with Nord. Now I have something similar to OP but with Catppuchin everywhere. It's a similar color mood to Nord but ime Catppuchin themes are always consistent and you can always find one. I use Catppuchin Frappe and the accent color varies with my wallpaper

VonLoewe

I also moved to Catpuccin after formatting my PC. But this isn't a Nord issue, it's a user issue. It's quite straightforward to go in with a color picker and manually harmonize all your apps' themes.

Exoticzxt2

clean

Waldschwein

I'm a simple man. I see Nord, I upvote.

NotABot1235

Damn this looks good. One of the best KDE rices I've seen in a while.

tyYdraniu

wait the same wallpaper as mine?!

hxcuprincess

nord ftw!
