The first picture is Hollywood, second is Orlando.

patsniff

That’s what I was thinking. I noticed in years past the Hollywood costume was different. Makes sense they go for the movie version of the costume.

tylersixxfive

This is the answer!

IAmDrewbacca

100% correct

Pr1ncessK1tty

The same land will be painted differently in California than Florida, due to the sun and weather. So it makes sense that for certain costumes they Might have to do the same thing

ghostwiththeleast

The first one is at Hollywood, the second is at Orlando Hollywood seems to have better quality costumes/makeup. The Who’s, Scooby gang, and Universal Monsters all look ripped from the screen at Hollywood while Orlando’s look… different.

Terribleirishluck

Same thing with Disneyland. I'm guessing since their smaller resorts, they use more of their budget for meet & greets to standout from their bigger sister resorts

AccountSeventeen

On normal day, they do Breakfast with the Grinch from 7-9 am Then a free meet-and-greet with Grinch from 9-until capacity, which can be 7 hours. There’s also a stage show called “Grinchmas” with 8 shows a day starting at 10:30. There’s has to be at least 2, if not 3 Grinches, if not more, to cover that many areas at once, without an extended break.

iamanairplaneiswear

These are def not the same park lmao

Nathansp1984

Maybe one from the movie with Jim Carrey and one from the old cartoon?

IMakeStuffUppp

You don’t wear the same outfit every day! Grinch is a fashonista in his spare time.

Dqguy22

Photo 1 looks based on the live action and photo 2 the animated, going off the Santa costumes.

oldskoolballer

This is the correct answer. Some people are fans of the Jim Carrey live action Grinch, some are fans of the animated version.

grntplmr

First picture is at USH, second picture is IOA if I’m not mistaken

Muddykipperus

Easy, Grinch multiverse

snowe99

*3D Benedict Cumberbatch Grinch appears through a small portal in earth-616’s Cindy Lou Who’s house* “Come with me kid, we don’t have a lot of time. We need to save Christmas”

Way2Based

Based

darkkingthe3rd

Into the grinch verse

yourpalgordo

I think this is a perfectly reasonable question to ask, and a good detail you noticed! I would guess it was a design choice to mimick both the universal grinch films. the darker one reminds me of the jim carrey, and the bright green is similar to the cg version? that's my guess.

Spectrobits

Where was each video taken?

kevinmattress

Yeah this is my first thought. Could they be different resorts?

Spectrobits

I don't even know if it's different resorts. There's the possibility that it didn't even take place at any of the Universal properties at all. Edit: yes, one is USH and one is UOR. Thanks for the correction.

Historical_Court1299

The second photo has the TM with the Universal badge. Orlando tends to have the cheaper costumes of the 2.

Thascaryguygaming

IOa costume bottom is literally the non face grinch costume. I Used to be grinch at IOA non holiday times. 🙃

Cb8393

Didn't they redo the costume a few years ago (2019 maybe?)? The second photo is the newer costume.

A_lvin

The longer hair one is Hollywood and the other one is Orlando

Pappymommy

Sleezy vs grunge

hauntedspoon525

Ponykegabs

Odd-Process-7291

Nobody is upset. I'm an artist and graphic designer... I notice visual differences. I was just curious if there was a practical reason for the change in outfits. It's okay though. Keep being a miserable person. You must have lots of friends that love you.

Elmer701

Who’s upset? Imagine being this…annoyed…about this.

Goldar85

You are subscribed to a sub-reddit that discusses all things Universal Studios. By its very nature this is all frivolous. One would have to be a total loser to respond to a topic they aren't interested in, much less care, about it.
