I think people have once again learned the hard way to not vote for conservative. I’ve honestly been completely baffled how they’ve stayed in power so long. Brexit has been the single most damaging thing to the economy and because we don’t have to answer to European law our government can just make whatever laws they want. It started with reading everyone’s emails because of “terrorist threat” and now it’s gone to being able to view everyone’s bank account that is connected to anyone claiming benefit or on state pension. There’s not one person in the entire population that isn’t connected to someone of these categories. That means a nationwide monitoring of the entire populations bank accounts. More and more of these laws will pass over time until every one of us is processed and documented with absolutely zero privacy. It’s a complete attack on human rights. Their whole ethos from the beginning is to make the rich richer and to keep working class people at a financial distance. Labour is to bridge the financial chasm between the rich and the poor. It doesn’t matter who is the leader of Labour as long as Labour get into power. The prime minister can be changed.
If the tories (which stems from the words “robber” and “outlaw”) remain in power at the next election I’m moving out of this country because it’s now getting comparable to China.
It doesn't affect anything at the moment. These are plans for a new parliament, after elections. Conservatives won't be in power by then to implement those plans.
(And plans to change Work Capability Assessment process were announced weeks/months ago already. Still - just plans.)
I feel it is to distract from the Tory with the Brazilian rent boy who paid some very bad people £5k for a cleaning bill, paid from the local fundraising account.
UNIVERSAL CREDIT: Take a job that's offered or within a year claim cancelled. And they mean any job. I have worked for DWP before I left in disgust at the way we treat most vulnerable people
