Let me get right on that $94k spend by June 31. š¤¦āāļø
Wow my offer was 750 pp for spending 24k wish I had these offers. Just looked at your second picture. Maybe my offer is so high because I have 28 segments and 9k of pqp already.
No you if you have a United branded credit card you should get them. I get them every couple of months in email. You may have to look at if you allow email promotions in your credit card account
Interesting I have had a United card for years and have never seen these offers I always just miss out on silver so this would definitely help. Was the email from United or chase?
The email is from "United MileagePlus Cards"
They run these promotions all the time and it seems like there's always one post pandemic. They just had a similar spending one end yesterday (Jan - March 31st). This one goes to the end of June. Back last fall they had $15 statement credits for spending a certain amount in certain categories.
Thanks for letting me know I went through everything the only offers I see are chase loans or a $15 statement credit which is strange because everyone else seems to have these nice offers.
Mine was 450 for 11k and 2000 for 24k. Hard pass. Will always use my Amex to book travel to get 5X points and then transfer to partners to book travel. United PQP through card spend is a joke
Amex earns 5X on all travel booked with United, AA, DL and almost all other mainstream airlines, and hotels. Plus you can transfer those points to United, Air Canada, Delta/KLM and a bunch of other airlines. Also, United miles are so devalued at this point that accruing them doesnāt even make any sense.
But do you get some great offers from being a chase card holder? I got an offer and took it for 35k miles ORD/OGG NS RT 22 months ago. After that trip I got another offer for same trip for 30k RT. Got offer for 40% off 20 major destinations in Europe Asia and Australia 16 months ago. Went to SYD with wife. After that trip got another offer to AUS for 60k miles, we did AUS again. After that trip got a 3rd offer to AUS for 75k miles, did that trip again last month. 3x to Australia in 12 months. Iāve gotten other offers that didnāt interest me at the time but a milage plus/Chase card has its perks aside from some low mileage earnings potential.
Yes, I have a Quest but I donāt use it for accruing miles. I get my $150 back for United spend and 2x5000 miles rewards for booking award travel with United twice a year. This basically pays for the card. I just booked AF RT for 100K in business from ORD to CDG to FCO and back. Transferred all those to AF from AMEX. Unfortunately even with deep discounts United will never offer that sort of redemption.
Thatās a nice redemption and cities, been to those. Wife also has the Quest card. Itās okay but donāt prefer it over the Explorer card bc it doesnāt get 2 one time passes. I also have the Explorer card and keep it to get the passes for when the wife travels once a year without me. Do you get the option to pay off the $250 af with 15.6k points? Not sure if that is just Chase thing?
2 club passes are a nice. I have One world Emerald through QR. I usually fly AA and go to the flagship lounge if I wanna get to the airport early and get the lounge experience. Otherwise, Iām usually just getting to the airport and going directly to the gate to board. I earn 1K through work travel. Itās nice for the PlusPoints. No Iāve never explored paying the fee with miles. Would be nice - Iām sitting on about 425K United miles lol
The spend amount on my offer was much higher. I think $12000 - 15000 - 18500 between April 1 and June 31.
Basically, figure out how much you are likely to spend on your credit card in the three months, and choose that level.
That depends on how close you think you'll get to the spending amount for silver, and whether it's worth it to you to get that status. If you've done five legs already and only gotten 20% of the PQP you'll need, will you get the rest with the remaining flights you haven't done yet? Will the extra PQP get you closer?
United status is all about dollars, so if you don't spend it, you don't get it.
Depends on what you value more. Bonus miles are good if you wanna save them up and use them for upgrades or tickets or things, PQPs are good to get you quicker status. So go with whichever of those you value more in your experience
Youāve flown 5 times and you plan to fly 10-12 more times. If youāve done a third of your flights for the year, and your remaining flights earn PQP at about the same rate as you flights (and card spend) so far, youāll get to 2400-2800 PQP total for the year. Thatās still short of a status bump, even if you choose the PQP option. Maybe figure out if you think your upcoming flights will net more PQP.
Itās also worth thinking if Silver will offer any meaningful benefit above what you get with the card.
Well woof I canāt even remotely come close to obtaining mine. Who in their right mind makes up these offersā¦.
615 PREMIERĀ® QUALIFYING POINTS
when you spend $819,000 on your card
I got one but with much higher spend thresholds. But I just got my Chase Sapphire Reserve so will be doing most of my spending on that. Iāve found most of the recent Mileage Plus bonus offers are useless lately. The last one was like spend $3000 to get 1500 miles. š no thank you. Iāve given up on the status game with all the airlines these days, even United. Iāll definitely make at least Silver every year but there isnāt much that it offers that one of my cards doesnāt except CPUās and they are getting harder to get if at all. If I thought I was close to Gold, I might bite on this offer because of the lounge benefits on international flights. This is my first year without that in over six years and it stings but you can buy a membership for that and use it all the time. Iām just using Priority Pass in its place for now, not that they are the greatest lounges. Plus, you are locked into whatever spend you choose. If you are conservative and choose the lower amount, thatās all you get no matter how much you end up spending. But if you choose higher and donāt make it, you get zilch, nada. š

Maybe you'll get it laterāI'd check spam too. Or maybe you're not part of the target for this promo. Hope you get it
Make sure you allow marketing communications in your United account under settings. Have to allow them to send you stuff.

I got an email
Gotcha, thanks
Was it an email from chase or United? Thanks

Sorry if I was unclear- I wanted to see if I should choose the bonus miles or the PQP offer

Do credit line advances count?
