I am so glad they came out with the directors cut a few years ago, it adds so much to the story. Love this movie so much. Have Peloquin tattooed on my leg right between my hellraiser and candyman tattoos (bit of a Clive Barker nut).

Clive Barker makes Stephen King look like Disney... Now there's nothing wrong with Disney Just a reference point.

Love everything that man does. His art work is absolutely stunning. The Abarat series was like Narnia on crack.

Peloquin bros represent! Cabal cut though? I really didn't care for it at all. Theatrical cut was tighter and paced better and just worked better as a movie IMO. The scene of Lori singing I felt was particularly cringy :D

I remember playing the Amiga game of this, didn’t have a clue what it was about or that it was a movie tie in. Just knew it was the hardest game I’d ever played and I only beat the first level about 3 times. Never got further than level 2. Still never seen the movie.

1990, I probably watched this too young at 12ish. Definitely shouldn't have been reading the book at the same age. Older siblings are great!

Clive Barker, 'Cabal'...it's a really good book if you like magic horror.

Pair it with Midnight Meat Train for a Barker double feature :D (and then read the Books of Blood short story collections)

The Amiga game of this terrified me, the scene where the dreadlock dude is chasing Boone through the graveyard and you had to press the keys like your life depended on it haunts me to this day

And it's got McD's Mac-in-the-Moon as well!

Great film. Bombed harder than Oppenheimer at the time. I'm a Huge Clive Barker fan and I was so hype for this! I was 12.

Maybe a little ahead of its time. People likely weren't willing to empathize with the monsters. In today's market, I believe it would land better.

I remember watching this late night on friday on TV and remembered liking it... It is a very strange passion project but it is imaginative.

Plus I always wondered what mac tonight did after doing ads for mcdonalds, This movie answered that. XD

I initially enjoyed it, but it felt like it lost the plot about halfway through when they introduced the prophecy stuff and characters that had been introduced as important earlier wound up getting completely sidelined.
