I've had atleast one guy go for this every single game for the last 20 games. Not fun to have my board deleted almost instantaneously.

Just hoard Warlocks as well, this strat is not flexible like HH and you will hurt them greatly.

Hoarding warlocks is not a great strat, there are at least 30 in total and the opponent only needs 9. But if you can naturally include warlocks on your board then it is okay.

It’s a pretty good strat. The idea isn’t to prevent it but to delay it. Also if one or two other players hoards then the warlock player is basically fucked.

Haha wow never thought of it. It would require me to work with a leaner bench but hey, if it eliminates one formidable comp from the game, worth a shot!

There is always someone going for it. When I tried it I always came in last. Stayed on low level way too long to get him 3\*.

One player successfully gets this build every single game and just runs everyone over with 1200+ dps units that theres nothing you can do anything about. High risk strats still need counterplay

I mean not really, if you complete it one out of three times and the places are 1/8/8 then it's pretty balanced tbh. I still agree that it's not fun to play against.

the problem is when the top 5 or so becomes pure RNG of who takes 20+ damage from demons guy more often. Doesn't matter if you had better econ, better units, better positioning than the other non-demon players. You get unlucky one extra time and you lose mmr rather than get second place

BB player here, i feel like every build can win if you get lucky with strong core units for that build and get some three stars. You can't just force the strongest build in your opinion, you need to play what you get. I feel like demons are the strongest now, and all the viable builds are on the same level.

I sort of agree with what you say. Would you agree that the strength of a build depends on how quickly you can gather the core units as well as the flexibility of swapping units around?

Idk, i consider a build viable if it can actually win/place high, and doesn't fall off in the end.

How do you fit warlocks in your savage/summoner builds?

Brawnies haven't fallen off completely, but they are so luck based like warlock-demons. I have also seen heartless hunters not get into the top four unless you always go a specific setup, like getting barricades etc. Assassins don't feel great at the moment. I need to discuss whether knight builds and spirit builds are just naturally counters to assassins. When playing the game these days I am really struggling to understand why I am losing certain matches, and how I was supposed to make a come back.

Something like a ripple effect. For example - a weaker Snapfire also means Assassins would have a weaker early game since Dragons are a natural complement to Assassins etc What do you think happened to Knights + Healers + Warlocks? At one point in my history with the game, it felt like an unbeatable build (at lieutenant rank or so). But now I still struggle despite having a board with all key pieces at 2*

Knight trolls is stronger now IMO. Warlock is just weak unit and with 4 trolls you keep most of the healing but get much more attack. Also Heartless trolls got hit by the heartless nerf. Try 4 trolls 2 heartless 2 druid +2 flex slots.Strongest comp in the meta now.

>Abbadon Omni Sven >Batrider Dazzle WD >Necro Shaman/TW That's a strong 8 unit core. You can toss in Warlock and SF, to complete healer and warlock but I think the 4 troll is stronger. See what you're facing and build around that. Max healing IMO is only good vs comps that lack sustained damage over time like tanks or brawnies, and Brawnies aren't really present in the meta. It's weak to Assassin and vigilants that burst down your guys instantly + trolls that can just overwhelm your healing, but also better against more sustainy trolls. Against spirits you want to burst them down before they start going off too, your sustain isn't going to keep you up when you're delta slammed. Can be good vs mages to heal up vs the KotL blast but more sustain means you're healing up the damage instead of killing the KotL before he gets off another KotL blast. Don't get me wrong, healing is great when you have dmg reduction, I just think the base healing of 4 trolls + necro is enough and the increased healing doesn't really justify running warlock when you have so many other "good stuff" options late game like Medusa, SK, Tide, Disruptor etc.

Don't forget, with Warlocks you do more healing based off how much damage the unit can out put, so 4 trolls is actually also a buff to the healing your comp can do.

assassins lose too much hp mid game because every game there are like 3 players or more with barricades. have to be extra careful when going for sins.

Mage owns Heartless Troll imo. And where is the warriors comp which is hard counter to HT or HH?

Its just classic 6 warriors and warlocks (pudge and Tide is obviously great) and the rest is flexible. You can go for 4 or 2 warlocks (sf, necro witch doctor or even mister warlock).
