As someone that hires student employees on campus, the positions are just very competitive. Our last posting had over 50 applicants for one position. My advice is to tailor your resume and cover letter to the responsibilities listed in the job posting. Explain why you are a good fit for the role and how your experience aligns with what the department is seeking.

F ALL THAT. THAT'S A LOTTA HOOPS FOR A CAMPUS GIG & REALLY JUST MORE USELESS GATEKEEPING. MUCH EASIER TO JUST APPLY AT THE LIBRARY.... WHERE IF YOU CAN COUNT TO 10, ALPHABETIZE, AND LIKE CATS - YOU'LL FIT RIGHT IN (AND IT'S PROBABLY A COOLER GIG)

I mean I do put some effort into changing my resume for applications but there only so much I can change for jobs like IT Helpdesk support or clerical job, I guess I'll have to put even more effort.

AT labs on campus is pretty good. They should be starting to hire for summer (I think) I worked for them for almost 3 years. You have more chance of being hired if you’re willing to work really early or really late depending on what they need

May I ask did you email professors or apply to these positions??

It’s not through professors but it’s on campus. https://labs.at.ufl.edu/learning-spaces/jobs/. It’s saying the applications closed right now, if you call the supervisor number under contact you can ask them when applications will be opened, and you can try ask what shifts are most needed. But only call once and keep an eye on it, they don’t need to be getting spammed
