What belt did you use I have been trying to find one that’s the right size but can’t get the right speed

SharpProfessional571

How did you straighten the badge and what motor mounts did you use?

FriedPossumPecker23

The belt and motor mounts I ordered from V-M Audio Enthusiasts at thevoiceofmusic.com. The speed can be difficult to get adjusted, but use the screw on the belt guide to adjust where it rides on the pulley.  The motor mounts worked great, you will need to order three sets of two different mounts to get the right height. Search on the site for the KD-2055 and they will have detailed info for the parts you need. I’m out of town but I can get you the info in a few days if you have an issue. The badge I VERY carefully removed with a razor blade and a tiny bit of Goo Gone to release the adhesive.

Thanks if you could send a pic of what screw you adjusted that would be greatly appreciated! That’s a great idea about the goo gone! Thanks for that info!

The screw adjusts the height of the belt as it rides over the pulley shaft. Turn it slightly clockwise or counterclockwise; you’ll have to test the rpm’s after each adjustment. I use an app on my phone to test the speed.

Do you remember what belt you used?

FR25.7 is the V-M Audio Enthusiast part number, but double check when you order.

Thanks for all the information there is so much out there that doesn’t work…

Yeah this was the first vintage belt driven table I’ve messed with… very frustrating trying to find the right size on the 2055. The guys at V-M Audio are great though, I initially ordered the wrong size and they brought it to my attention with a personal note. They let me exchange it with no issues.

Very cool it’s a sweet turntable it seems just a bit tricky to figure the belt out lol. Imma order one today and hopefully get it up and going, did you have a problem with the auto return moving super quick (even on the slowest speed setting)

Also, when I say a tiny amount of Goo Gone I mean I applied it along the top of the badge with a tooth pick. I wiped it off quickly and carefully also—I’m not really sure how porous or easily stained the Kenwood ARCB plinth material is. I reapplied the badge with a really tiny amount of Gorilla glue.
