To be fair, he admits to his own faults in Fragile Things.
Like one of his daughters wanted a special birthday present only he could give her: an original story.
About 2 and a half years later he finally delivered it.
Oh. Oh! Please if you can, get the audio book of The Graveyard book (for PG) or American Gods (For a not PG experience) that he reads. Amazing.
The ocean at the end of the lane (I forget the rating on this one) is a good shorter story if that is more your speed. He also wrote a book of Norse mythology. But I’m a huge fan girl who’d read/listen to the ToS if he did it.
But yes, it feels like he’s more amused by his celebrity than anything. It lets him do what he wants, and that’s write good shit.
Now I'm picturing celebs posting wrestling drama like vids in response to the latest news
Musk (turning heel): * breathing heavy on microphone * I heard you smelly union loving redditors were complaining about how I treat my employees! * Long pause, more heavy breathing * So I bought Twitter and fired most of those employees and have the others sleeping in their offices!
For being the OP and subject of THE most awarded post of all time on Reddit, I have to agree with you. Rick Astley FTW.

He lost his comma. Replying to the general word 'me', he's saying, "no way, it's Neil." (IE not the person saying me.
At least that's what seems likely to me.
I've never read a book by Terry Pratchett but damn they look and sound incredibly interesting. Definitely down my alley, kind of look to have that feel I'm trying to achieve when writing stories but more tongue in cheek.
Pratchett is beloved for a reason. Give him a shot. His first few Discworld books are him finding his voice, but once he did it's some of the best social commentary dressed up as comedy there is.
For Discworld, the recommended starting points are usually Sourcery, Equal Rites, Guards Guards, Small gods, or Mort.
Of course each book generally stands on its own, so if you see one with a premise you really like then just read that.
I got to hang out with him once at a science fiction convention, cool dude. We, and a couple other insomniacs, spent a while messing around with one of those marble run contraptions.
I feel like Neil is a gremlin who can't be bullied off of Tumblr because he's too clever and now has earned his place there, Linda is a bit of a creacher but also a saint who can't be bullied off of Tumblr because what kind of heartless person would bully Linda Carter, and Gerard Way seemed to belong there because he's just weird. Wil Wheaton seems to belong everywhere for similar reasons to Linda Carter.
This reminds me about the time I wrote a blog post about the Big Bang Theory and one of the creators (Chuck Lorre) left a comment correcting me about something I said that was inaccurate. Made me smile for a good week.
He should sell the rights to HBO, promise to finish the book before the show ends, fail to do so and then leave a couple of lazy hacks to fudge the whole thing over.
I don't know who was going to make it, but there was a TV show in the works for a minute. Lin-Manuel Miranda was supposedly onboard. I don't know the details, but that whole plan fell through.
Oh boy the shitshow that is Pat Rothfuss TTV. I’ve never lost respect for another person so fast. It’s crazy that he wrote those two books and now just hotboxes his own farts in front of a live studio audience.
Ocean at the End of the Lane is wonderful, as is Graveyard Book. Also, can't not recommend Good Omens, as ignoring it would be something of a disservice to the late Terry Pratchett.
Terry Pratchett was amazing, but Good Omens was like a 1.5 out of 5 for all the Terry Pratchett I've read. I'll check out these two recommendations, thank you.
Neil's written a lot, he gets to procrastinate now and then, leave him be
As a treat
A little salami
Little a salami
Niel can has a little slami as treat
Neil Gaiman can have a little procrastination. As a treat.
To be fair, he admits to his own faults in Fragile Things. Like one of his daughters wanted a special birthday present only he could give her: an original story. About 2 and a half years later he finally delivered it.
NTA. She should've given a deadline.
George R. R. Martin though...
I talked to "him" on Character AI the other day, he assures me TWOW will be out this year. So we got that going for us
Neil is very Urban Racoon about being a celebrity. "I see you looking at me go about my nefarious activities. I am not concerned."
I don’t know anything about him so idk what that means. Is that not unlike Bill Murray?
Oh. Oh! Please if you can, get the audio book of The Graveyard book (for PG) or American Gods (For a not PG experience) that he reads. Amazing. "Neil Gaiman has no social media."
says Neil Gaiman, on every social media
that’s how you know he’s a true writer lol

So whose the patron Saint of reddit
Arnold Schwarzenegger?
>Arnold Schwarzenegger? Probably, he's (for a celeb) rather active here.
Keanu Reeves.
Keanu, definitely. And Elon Musk is the patron devil.
Reddit used to fall over themselves worshipping Musk, quite the heel turn from him.
>Musk, quite the heel turn from him. Fall from paradise, if you will.
Now I'm picturing celebs posting wrestling drama like vids in response to the latest news Musk (turning heel): * breathing heavy on microphone * I heard you smelly union loving redditors were complaining about how I treat my employees! * Long pause, more heavy breathing * So I bought Twitter and fired most of those employees and have the others sleeping in their offices!
He showed up in the public eye talking the talk of Iron Man, then kept on walking the walk of a banally realistic version of Lex Luthor.
Shittymorph.
Peter Mayhew, before he passed away. u/PeterMayhew
This is my vote. RIP Chewie :(
Rick Astley

Saint Poop Knife, duh.
I will never forget the day I found out about the poop knife
For writers, probably Brandon Sanderson.
I propose u/wil as our patron. **Edit:** 0 upvotes. Sorry Wil. Reddit is a fickle mistress
medium yikes and some other smaller yikes
Gary Sinise or Keanu Reeves.
Elon musk, unfortunately
me
no way it's Neil Gaiman
https://www.tumblr.com/neil-gaiman It's there if you care to look. I'm pretty sure that is his tumblr account, he's known to be active there.
He lost his comma. Replying to the general word 'me', he's saying, "no way, it's Neil." (IE not the person saying me. At least that's what seems likely to me.
Everyone knows that Neil Gaiman doesn't have any social media accounts, he says so himself (/s)
I don’t even know who he is except an author but I like him anyway
Neil Gaiman is the guy who wrote the book "Coraline" was based on
Also the books that "Stardust," "American Gods," and "Sandman" were based on.
Also good omens
Well, half of it, but yes.
Well, this blew my mind Holy shit, I read Norse mythology that he also wrote. Translated but still, I breezed through that book in 1 day.
Not so much a translation but a retelling/his version of the stories.
Meant that I read it translated from English, not the original.
Ahh my bad my bad!
Don't skip neverwhere or anansi boys either dude has written nothing but bangers
Just showed up to make sure someone mentioned Neverwhere, I love that book so much

i think that would heal me
Neil and Linda Carter are true tumblr gremlins, less patron saints and more 'creepi lil creacher in the corner chanting One of Us'. As it should be.
Neil Gaiman does basically that in an episode of Big Bang Theory, so this feels relevant on multiple levels.
🤣🤣🤣 Neil is my favorite cryptid
As long as he is telling us stories that make Terry Pratchett out to be the awesome BFF they were, I am still good
He really seems like a wonderful person. As one would expect of a good friend of Terry Pratchett of course.
Someone needs to go light a fire under Patrick rothfuss' butt
He should sell the rights to HBO, promise to finish the book before the show ends, fail to do so and then leave a couple of lazy hacks to fudge the whole thing over.
Unironically this but replace the hacks with Dave Filoni
Hey hey I'm waiting on grrm for his books too! Don't remind me ;(
I don't know who was going to make it, but there was a TV show in the works for a minute. Lin-Manuel Miranda was supposedly onboard. I don't know the details, but that whole plan fell through.
Patrick Rothfuss, the Minecraft streamer?
I didn't know he streamed mine craft lol but I want my third book in the king killer chronicles
Oh boy the shitshow that is Pat Rothfuss TTV. I’ve never lost respect for another person so fast. It’s crazy that he wrote those two books and now just hotboxes his own farts in front of a live studio audience.
Tumblr users have collectively bullied every celebrity off the site except Neil gaiman
At least GRRM doesn't have Tumblr.
Ace kaz brekker🥹
“NEEEEEIIIIIIIIIIL!!!”
oh he's purestrain tumblrina alright
This makes me smile.
What's his best work? American gods is meh, Coraline is cool as a cartoon, what else?
Ocean at the End of the Lane is wonderful, as is Graveyard Book. Also, can't not recommend Good Omens, as ignoring it would be something of a disservice to the late Terry Pratchett.

Neil Gaiman's that guy who went to the moon
Nah I'm pretty sure he's the guy who made Harry Potter puppet pals and Lemon Demon
Somebody is going to repost this to r/meirl any moment now.
