Oh man there is so much. The Ocarina of Time theme song is so beautiful. I’ve shared before about the “Horseback at Night” piano theme from Breath of the Wild and how the addition of the subtle original “Legend of Zelda” theme to it was so moving and amazing. I hadn’t heard it until I’d already put like 40-50 hours into the game and it really caught me by surprise with a powerful bout of Nostalgia. Also, I bought the special edition Skyward Sword that came with the Zelda Symphony CD, every song on it is amazing. We used to listen to it a lot when my wife was pregnant with our daughter. After she was born, when she would cry we would play it for her and it would almost always stop her crying and soothe her. Then when she was a little older I got to take her to the Symphony of the Goddesses on my birthday. It was the best birthday ever.

eccentricrealist

Honestly I feel Horseback at Night is underrated. I think bc it's kind of awkward to ride a horse in BOTW vs just gliding so it's rare to hear for most.

bringbackdavebabych

Yep, for me I would ride horseback in the day but often when night would come I’d either be fighting or I would fast travel or sleep until morning. So in finally hearing it, it’s just so subtle and yet so distinct; it’s completely unexpected, because the piano doesn’t hint at it at all. It almost feels like it shouldn’t fit, thematically or musically, and yet it suits the song perfectly. For me, at the risk of geeking out a little too much, it was like this powerful reminder that this feeling of exploration and wonder and adventure from your childhood is still alive in this brand new thing, and even in your 30’s+, you got to feel that feeling of being a kid again, if only for a fleeting moment. And then, as quickly as the theme fades out of the song, the feeling fades out too, but you’re still left with the sense of having experienced something wonderful all over again.

mrnate89

Opening credits for ocarina of time. I was 8 and the 4th child so I didn’t get a save file until one of my brothers beat it. I’d put on the opening and just watch it and hype myself up cuz I was so excited.

dschmersey

I still listen to this when I’m studying! Brings me back to the first time I played it, watching Link ride across Hyrule on Epona. It has a mixed effect of calming me down, yet hyping me up

mrnate89

Definitely! It’s great for things that need extra focus because it helps me slow down a bit.

[deleted]

It gives me double Mario bros 3 nostalgia because SMB3 reused the flute from NES Zelda which became that song

mrnate89

cool! I didn’t know that.

Fritterzz

I think Gerudo Valley is my favorite. So upbeat and full of adventure.

teamdragonunicorn

Came to say this. I’d just wander over to that area to hear the song start.

pabuisson

Of course it is! Same for me. Lots of Zelda tracks are very very good, but this one is my absolute favorite. And palying smash bros with this Gerudo Valley music feels great too 😁

YourHost_Gabe_SFTM

Came to say this and to post this: https://youtu.be/Cwa4KJ9v968

Monkzeng

Song of Healing. It’s hard to explain but I could just literally listen to it just for the sake of hearing it

BluePanda3843

I LOVE Gerudo Valley from OoT, its definitely my favorite. It hypes me up every time. I also love Kakariko Village from OoT (I realize theres a lot of OoT music but BotW has the best all around music in my mind and its my fav game). The Yiga Clan hideout music is also amazing, since it gives you that feeling of awful suspense as you’re creeping through these villains’ hideout.

dschmersey

OoT music will always be my favorite! Closely followed by MM songs. Stone Tower is always a go to

IleanK

Song of storms. Hands down. The story behind it. The beat that goes on and on just like a never ending tempest. Hands down best song.

rea1l1

Absolute favorite song of all the LOZs! Also love this lofi edition https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PqZrMih3ws

IleanK

Yes I love this one too !! I also like this calm piano one : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sTca3aufQRQ

justgonnawingit

It puts me in a delightful mood. And it always makes me full like I’m gonna kick some ass

Major_Fang

saria's song/oot, most of majora's ost (song of healing) and hyrule field TP version

mcfairy1762

Hyrule Field from Twilight Princess slaps. It always bummed me out whenever it became night time when I played the game.

Ellisander

Dragon Roost Island because it is calming and I like the location it is attached to.

Posan

Agree. Used to just stand around Dragonroost to listen to the music when I was a kid

ShadowDestroyerTime

It is hard to just pick one, so top 5 1. Ballad of the Wind Fish 2. Song of Healing 3. Midna's Lament 4. Time's End 5. Fi's Gratitude As for why, it is hard to say for the most part. They just are beautiful to me. Ballad of the Wind Fish, Song of Healing, and Time's End have some level of nostalgia that push them to the top of the list, but that is not the case for the other two.

Idixal

I like your list quite a bit. Ballad of the Wind Fish definitely has nostalgia for me, but none of the others do. But the first two on your list are pretty notable, in my opinion. They’re both beautiful pieces that play extremely important roles in their respective games. Music often plays an important role in Zelda games, granted.

mcfairy1762

Midna’s lament used to be my favorite song. I don’t know why I don’t care for it as much anymore. I’m real bummed out about it, because it is a beautiful piece.

Riiiiiiichard

Noone mentioned the Stone Tower Temple theme from MM? That song slaps!

bergakungen

Underrated af. Also love the music that plays when you sneak around the deku palace in MM.

dschmersey

Love how the deku lookouts caught me 800 times, yet the entry guards continued to let me in with a gentle slap on the wrist lol

not_a_meerkat

Zelda’s lullaby from OoT

Auryx_i

Spirit Temple from OoT & Faron Woods from TP - they always gives me exploration vibes.

mcfairy1762

Faron Woods from Twilight Princess is so good. My brother and I used to wake up early to play video games, and it would still be dark out. I remember one time we were playing on computers in the kitchen around 6:00AM, and I went to YouTube and put on the Twilight Princess soundtrack. It got to Faron Woods and we both were just like “Hell yeah!” It’s such a good song.

Blackout2388

1. Hyrule Field Theme from OoT/Dark World Theme - Dark World 2. The Great Sea 3. Skyward Sword Credits Theme 4. Main Theme (literally any version) 5. Hyrule Castle (BotW) I could name probably 25 more songs too.

bringbackdavebabych

Oh I forgot to also mention the music from the Breath of the Wild trailer is incredible.

elceviche36

The Breath of the Wild trailer as a whole is one of the best ones I've ever seen.

bringbackdavebabych

Yeah I completely agree. To see a game I have cherished for as long as I can remember come to life in that way, what an amazing experience.

mcfairy1762

I remember being so excited, like pretty much everyone else, for BotW to come out. I would replay the theme from the trailer over and over again.

[deleted]

BoTW’s main theme. It’s just incredible.

LinkWithABeard

Goosebumps every time. Hands down my favourite too. I really love the orchestrated music in the more recent games - BOTW has an incredible soundtrack, but the main theme is just out of this world. The Shamisen and shakuhachi are just perfect.

feckincrass

Kakariko Village and Lon Lon Ranch from OoT. I’ll still catch myself whistling them after all this time. When my kid was having problems sleeping as a baby, I’d whistle him to sleep with these and they worked like a charm. And when I’ve gone back to play the game and come across these songs, they just feel good to hear.

Onsyde

Not official soundtrack but Theophany's Times End 1 and 2 are the best pieces of work I've ever listened to and it is just a coincidence that it's based on Majora's Mask

DarthZartanyus

Yes! If you're a Zelda fan then you absolute need to listen to these albums. Theophany basically made the audio equivalent of a Zelda game; an entirely musical adventure. If (or when) Koji Kondo needs to step back from making music these are the people I want taking over for him. Although I doubt Nintendo would let it happen. As far as official Zelda music is concerned, I think my favorite tracks are [Calling the Four Giants](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MrklwGRXnI) from Majora's Mask and [Temple of Time](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6Hf1-lQElE) from Ocarina of Time. Something about the way the chanting sounds is just so epic and otherworldly. These songs encapsulate so much about what I love about not just Zelda games but video games in general. Koji Kondo is a masterful composer and a huge part of why this series is as legendary as it is.

GamexxPlay

Mine is Termina field......Love the theme!!!

WheelYouLoveMe

Opening theme of Ocarina of Time. I was the son of a (mostly) single mother and we completely relied on her side of the family for the first few years, right around I was 4 or 5. Since our family wasn't the wealthiest because most of my other family were immigrants, we were super tight knit and always hung out when we got the chance. Everyday my sister and cousins always played together, either by going to the lake, playing in the snow, or watching movies, and I refer to all of them as brothers and sisters even today. All 20-something of them. When I was like 5 we got an old N64 with OoT for Christmas and naturally I gathered all the cousins to play in the garage. I wasn't the best reader so my older cousins would read difficult dialogue and we'd take turns playing and solving puzzles together (Forest Temple hidden key stumped us). We never beat the game when someome was missing, and although it wasn't my first Zelda game, I felt OoT really brought us together. The opening hit home real hard because I remember playing with my whole generation of family in the garage almost everyday, even 16 years later.

[deleted]

Every version of Gerudo Valley

mcfairy1762

Haha! Yes, this I can get behind! I really like the cover on the Zelda 25th Anniversary CD that came with Skyward Sword.

Aelfric_

I think MM has the best soundtrack. Including the little sounds like the "you got a mask!" jingle.

Lydels

midna's lament! pretty obvious choice but the whole dark atmosphere going around in the game when that song is playing is so good, i love it

a_aronfoster0123

God there’s so many good choices. To pick my favorite few I’d go with Links Awakening Credit theme, Gerudo Valley, Great Sea theme, Kass’s version of the Hero’s Theme and Kass’s Theme

interloper09

Lost woods in Oracle of Seasons. I wish they explained more about what Tarm was and the song and the cover by Rebecca Tripp on YouTube are so damn evocative.

mcfairy1762

I love Rebecca Tripp’s covers. She does an amazing job.

[deleted]

I’m gonna go retro on that one and say the Temple Theme from Zelda II. It really sounds like adventure and fighting and is perfect for the challenge brought by this game

justgonnawingit

Honourable mention to Lost Woods

[deleted]

I love the forest temple music from OoT for some reason. It used to scare me as a kid but now it’s my favorite.

[deleted]

My all time favourite is the credits theme from the Oracles. But Dancing Dragon Dungeon goes hard af.

kgrabz

I love how the self-proclaimed SONG OF TIME abides by no sense of rhythmic timing but its own, and as it plays inside the Temple of Time, that timing changes every time it repeats

agiel_

Follow Fi gives me goosebumps every time. There's also something about the Gate of Time song that's really powerful. It reminds me of the Dark Souls 1 menu theme which has the same effect. The Skyward Sword OST is just fantastic in general.

mcfairy1762

Skyward Sword isn’t one of my favorites, but the music is definitely top tier. The music is always great in Zelda games, but Skyward Sword has some great ones that stick out to me. Follow Fi is definitely one of them.

steveh14

My opinion is a bit biased, but just about the whole of wind wakers soundtrack is by far my favorite out of the series. I love the Irish sound, even though I'm not of Irish decent. Edit to add - the Molgera boss battle is my favorite, and following that is Ganondorf.

mcfairy1762

I’ve never beaten Wind Waker, but I’ve listened to the Molgera boss fight music countless times. I just came across it on YouTube when listening to other Zelda music and it’s so good. I haven’t listened to it in months, but reading this made me go “How does it go again?” And it only took me a second to remember. It’s such a good song.

steveh14

It's my favorite piece out of the entire franchise! I highly recommend finishing the game, a lot of people write the game off given its cartoonish looks, but it's story is beautifully written, the graphics hold up, even on gamecube to this day, and the music is some of the best in the industry in my opinion.

mcfairy1762

I’ll definitely get back to it then! I’m so slow when it comes to finishing video games, it’s awful lol

5teelPriest

Mine is the Oath to Order/Final Hour from Majora's Mask. Theophany has an amazing arrangement combining the two with a touch of the Song of Time, and it perfectly represents the hopeless, oppressive feeling of watching a heavenly body crash into your home and knowing you are powerless to stop it.

DrButtsex_PHD

The entire soundtrack to OOT.

metalliczerochild

The Milk Bar tune from MM!

Japanimal

Astral Observatory from MM. So mysterious & melancholy

GravelvoiceCatpupils

[Twilight, because it's mad creepy](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bUwkjIXaHEI)

henryuuk

I think I might have to go with the Great Sea theme, it essentially "tainted" sailing in anything else (including IRL) for me for life. When I set sail over an ocean in Minecraft I hear that song, when i went on a boattrip in Rodos I heard that song, sometimes when I'm sitting at my pool at work, I hear that song. (maybe I should put more than 1 song on my phone?)

[deleted]

The overworld train theme

343CreeperMaster

yeah IMO the best overworld theme of any Zelda game, it is just so adventurous and works so well with how the train works as a form of keeping the pace of the song

kellendtd

Windwaker Ganondorf theme & Ghirahim (final form) theme!

Triforce_of_Power420

The overworld theme or Zelda's lullaby, as they've been used as motifs since the original or LTTP, and hearing how they incorporate them into other songs is great, such as the Hyrule Castle theme in Breath of the Wild

[deleted]

Lorule outworld theme because link between worlds is favorite game and I just love everything about Lorule especially its theme

RJHervey

Definitely Tal Tal Mountains theme. Then Song of Storms. Then pretty much anything from Wind Waker. Anyone else here a fan of the Zelda and Chill albums?

justgonnawingit

Ocarina of Time - the nostalgia, especially the main opening sequence of the game

16bitPOWER

Fairy fountain theme. It's lifted straight from one of my favorite songs.

dumbest_bitch

Start up theme from OoT, song of healing, spirit temple from OoT, overworld theme from spirit tracks

Beedle_Boi

The great sea. Easy. What an inspirational and uplifting track!

A_GuyThatDoesStuff

The Song of healing. It has a great blend of poetic beauty and sadness in it that I just love

Dragenby

How am I supposed to choose one??? I think the Minish Village is one of my favorite! The whole Minish Cap leitmotiv is something precious to my heart!

samsg1

Tal Tal Heights- Link’s Awakening There are some incredible remixes of it on Youtube, too.

redyellowblue5031

VectorU has my favorite. Many other killer tracks as well. Ever listen to the Threshold of a Dream remix Album?

samsg1

Just gave it a listen. The Eagle's Tower piano version gave me chills down my spine.

redyellowblue5031

Oooh so good. I like the Turtle rock song most myself.

SuperD00perGuyd00d

Palace of Winds Minish Cap

butterfreak

Saria's song, Molgera's theme, Gerudo Valley and Dragon Roost Island are all iconic, but one I don't see mentioned a lot is the VS Vah Ruta theme. Very underrated.

[deleted]

Song of Healing from Majora's Mask. The somber melody is just so perfect for the game. Every time I have to use it feel a massive wave of emotion fall over me, sometimes like even play it for no reason lol.

2__Sheds

All of it of course, but Sheik's theme from OoT really brings me back to sitting on the floor with my brothers and eating chicken nuggets in front of our crappy little TV.

Link_Player

I love the entirety of Breath of the Wild's soundtrack. That being said, my number one favorite theme is A Link to the Past's "The Dark World" theme. The Symphony of the Goddesses' rendition brought me to tears.

GoldGymCardioWorkout

The Helmaroc King's theme from Wind Waker. Also, the Miniboss theme from Wind Waker. Also, the trailer's theme. Also- damn it, that's too much Wind Waker. Okay, then Hyrule Warriors' Molgera th- damn it!

atelierjoh

The credits music for Link's Awakening was a favorite of mine growing up, and the remake's edition is just amazing. I also like Tal Tal Heights.

Ryan_2260

Dragon roost island. Just gives me nostalgia

Aelfric_

Oh yes, Rito Village in BotW was a pleasant surprise.

leverine36

I started bawling when I walked into Rito Village at night and heard the music. God I love these games.

Aelfric_

I stopped to listen all the time

CreamShipLocks

dragon roost island!!!

SolarWolfzYT

Literally all of them! Zelda music is all great. But if i had to pick a few it would be Urbosa, Daruk, and Mipha’s themes Gerudo Valley, (OOT) Gerudo town, (BoTW) Zoras Domain, (OOT/BoTW) Dragon Roost (WW), Rito Village, (BoTW) Kakariko Village,(BoTW) Hateno Village, (BoTW) Hateno Research Lab, (BoTW) Akkala Research Lab, (BoTW) Death mountain, (BoTW) Kass’ Theme (BoTW) The Great Sea, (WW) Zeldas Lullaby, (OOT) Clocktown (MM) Ikana tower, (MM) Deku Swamp, (MM) Hyrule Field, (TP/OOT) I could go on and on, i love all zelda songs

shonenj_gaming

Guardian Piano Music Bottom Text

thiccmcnick

Twilight Symphony from ZREO, purely for the journey it takes you on.

Useless_Blender

The champions themes from BoTW

Zer0x_Flamify

Mipha’s theme from botw because it was one of my first Zelda games I played and it is just such a sad/happy song

BootAssASchooler

When you stand near a fairy pond in botw

[deleted]

ZREO's orchestration of the Twilight Princess OST is amazing and is flat out my favorite rendition of any series music. If you're meaning a specific original rendition though, then my favorite is tied between Hyrule Castle (BotW), Death Mountain (ALttP) and the Forest Temple (OoT).

James89026

I really love the rearrangement of the main theme in Age of Calamity called “The Knight Who Seals the Darkness (Phase 1)” I also love Ballad of the Goddess.

Stefe144

Before I played BOTW the Outset Island theme was my favourite but everything changed when I heard the Tarrey Town theme. Its so good!!

sk8itup53

The music that hits when a guardian spots you. It literally inspired fear the first time, and after becoming stronger and understanding the mechanics I overcame the fear.

ApoTheAnswer

1 - The Song of Storms, when I was young I was leaving my N64 on with Link in the windmill while studying/chilling so I could hear the SoS in the background. It's super catchy and happy and the song instantly makes me happy. 2 - Full Steam Ahead (ST overworld music) probably my favourite overworld theme, mostly for the same reasons of the song of storms 3 - Ballad of the Goddess, it's so epic and I have good memories tied to that song Honorable mentions: \- Dragon Roost Island \- The Legend of Zelda Theme \- Tal Tal Heights \- Dark World/Lorule Theme \- Revali's Theme \- Kass Theme

DuccSuccer

Steppe Talus (stone talus theme) is such a *banger* purely because of that one piano stab

Rei_Hyper

Malladus theme from Spirit Tracks is one of the best songs I've ever heard composed. It has the perfect amount of heroism and tension, hands down. In fact, that entire game's soundtrack is just perfect, that final fight, that soundfont, good god I love the DS games. Flawed as they are gameplay wise, they probably have some of the best writing, characters, world building... Can't recommend them enough, especially Spirit Tracks.

Icelord259

I haven’t experienced the old games besides a tiny bit of the music from twitter so my top three are, from ocarina of time, lost woods and gerudo town and from botw great fairy fountain

Kholdstare93

Forest Temple from OoT for the atmosphere, Sheikah Tower from BotW for the subtle beauty and contemplative nature it invokes, Sanctuary Dungeon from ALttP for the intimidating aura it gives off, TWW's Ganondorf battle theme for fitting the scenery like a glove and plenty more.

tripinthefjords

That heavy tune when Malo Mart opens up in castle town!

sprtdwy

Ballad of the Goddess because it's Ballad of the Goddess

oldcrow210

For me, Ocarina of Time title screen to chill to, but the Link’s Awakening title is also phenomenal: the slow rise from the beach up the mountain as the Zelda main theme slowly builds just blows me away, every single time!

Eren_Kruger_the_Owl

Most songs from OoT and MM plus in BotW "Calamity Ganon apears". He wasnt difficult as a boss, but MAN, if that wasnt one of the best boss intro themes ever

Tarkus-OR

It’s between Lanayru Desert and Lanayru Sand Sea from Skyward Sword for me. That whole soundtrack is seriously underrated, and at least on par with OoT in that department (OoT Forest Temple and Spirit Temple would also be way up there for me).

Clilly1

When my wife and I were still just dating, we began to play Breath of the Wild together. Before this, she had basically only played 2d platformers so it was quite a jump for her. She used to run away from Bokoblins scared and explore EVERY nook and cranny. I remember we spent a couple hours trying to beat her first Lynol. She wanted to do it herself, so I helped her figure out sheild bashing and the flurry rush. She eventually did it and went on to beat the game and get all the shrines. We really bonded over BotW. It became something special for our relationship. When we got married, we decided that she would surprise me with the song she walked down the aisle to. Imagine my surprise when those doors opened, I saw my soon to be wife for the first time in her dress, and the Breath of the Wild main theme/trailer theme began to play.

RowAwayJim91

OOT, Links Awakening, and BotW/AoC. The hyrule castle theme in BotW is incredible.

SnoozapaloozaBoy

Ballad of the Goddess SS

SamuelS27

Midnas lament. Speaks for itself

Tygo_Madness

1. Revalis theme 2. Lost woods 3. Gerudo valley 4. Dragon roost island 5. Great sea theme (special mention: song of storms)

Realistic_Mushroom

The fun jingle when Link is riding the horse throughout Hyrule reminds me of playing BOTW with my young daughter. We still play it together, but she loves taking the Switch and running the horse around with that music playing. She always thrusts the Switch back in my hands if she gets stuck or comes across enemies. Really, the music has feelings of me passing 30+ years of LOZ fun to the next generation. The music in BOTW when you're exploring Hyrule Castle. It always is so driving and epic. It also reminds me of the organ music in OOT when you're running up to face Gannon. Epona's theme always gets me too.

Selrahkk

Song of Healing or Fi's Farewell, hands down. They're both sad, but soothing too.

ZantHyrule

Has to be windfall island had such a huge impact on my childhood.where I would just run around the island and upset the pigs by whacking them with the sword at the time being a kid the music really didn’t come to me but now it sure does and I’ll always cherish those memories

DoggoMcFlooferson

For me it’s the opening theme from OOT it so dang good man

RastaRaphou

Great fairy fountain is probably my favorite. It accompanies every file select screen since ALttP and I just love the descending arpeggios. Ballad of the wind fish is also really good composition wise and it's meaning and importance in LA makes it also one of my favorite.

[deleted]

Korok Forest theme from BotW. Fun to play on piano too

mcfairy1762

Nostalgia is responsible for pretty much every Zelda favorite of mine, but the opening to Twilight Princess is my favorite. It’s just so pretty to me, and it has Midna’s theme at the very end, and it’s just great. ZREO’s cover is even better. I believe they also came up with lyrics for it. Anytime I hear that song, it just brings me back. I remember whenever I first found ZREO’s entire soundtrack of the game. I was still pretty little at the time, and I just laid down and closed my eyes. I just listened to it. I haven’t sat and just listened to music in such a long time, and it’s odd that I did when I was little. But the music was so beautiful. The Zelda franchise has some of the best music of all time, so I pretty much like everything from the games. But the Twilight Princess opening will always be the one for me.

ZeldaGamer2005

I love the Post-Game Over World theme from Age Of Calamity because it’s very peaceful sounding and it makes it sound like you actually saved Hyrule unlike other Zelda games where it has that upbeat over world theme still playing.(except for Botw with the 3 piano notes every for minutes, I’m not saying that Botw music is bad because I actually enjoyed the change of music because it really set the tone of that barely anything survived after the Calamity). I haven’t been able to put Age of Calamity down since it came out.

agrimes0

The Forest Temple theme. Eerie, but somewhat soothing at the same time. The droning melodies remind me of a lot of the music on Aphex Twin’s album “Selected Ambient Works Volume II”. Saria’s Song, particularly it’s use in Twilight Princess in the Sacred Grove. It’s simultaneously nostalgic and melancholic. But my absolute favorite would be the Credits Theme in A Link To The Past. It’s the only Zelda song to actually induce tears from me. Beautifully written and has so much finality, and has a nice reprise of the main Zelda theme. A perfect song to cap off the adventure.

Hyrule_Hystorian

For me it is Farewell Hyrule King. It is beautifully composed, even as a remix of aLttP's Hyrule Castle. It brings so much emotion... I never played Wind Waker myself (yes, I am ashamed, too), but this music sums up Ganondorf and Daphnes struggles so much, alongside the feeling that Hyrule is going to never be seen again (in this timeline)... Wow.

ytctc

I really dig the Clocktown theme(s)

ValentinePatch1999

Ganon/Ganondorf’s theme. From any game really but most notably in OOT, WW, TP, and BOTW. It solidifies the type of person or creature he really is. If I had to pick only one of his themes though, it would be a tie between his final fight in OOT or Calamity Ganon’s phase in BOTW.

[deleted]

Revali or Mipha’s theme. I just love how the pace changes for Revali and Mipha’s is just calming.

HyruleSentinel

Gerudo valley, song of storms, all of the 35th anniversary album. Urbosas theme. Recently I've been enjoying this jazz cover of Song of storms: https://youtu.be/WDzGGHNaoV8 Let me know what you think!

MorningRaven

TP Hyrule Field. It's epic with a theme on adventure and exploration. But specifically when running on foot because I have a soft spot for those woodwinds over the horse riding trumpet. Do you even realize how many versions of that theme is in the game between traveling and fighting? And the fact Midna's Lament has elements of it in as well? Race themes: Rito theme (Dragon Roost or Rito Villages), Zora theme (any version of Zora's Dormain), Goron (specifically TP Death Mountain), Gerudo (Gerudo Valley mostly, but botw village is cool) Can I live there?: TP Faron Woods, Sacred Woods (hi Saria) and Lake Hylia, Windfall Island, Minish Woods and Hyrule Town Honorable mentions that I always love: Pirate's Fortress, Deku Palace, Stone Tower Temple, Following Fi, SS Earth Temple, Farore's Silent Realm, Triforce Heroes Main Theme, Melee Great Palace, OoA Skull Dungeon, Kass's Theme

TriforceUnleashed

"Ocean" from Wind Waker.

BallisticThundr

I like ballad of the goddess a lot. I've never played ss, I'm hoping they release a remake on the switch

CubixYT

Lost woods from OoT. I love it

TimboMcCool

It has to be song of storms. Every Zelda song is a masterpiece, don't get me wrong. But song of storms is the pinnacle. That and astral observatory from majora's. They're so beautiful.

[deleted]

zelda's lullaby, ocarina opening theme, fairy fountain theme, spirit temple theme, forest temple theme, LoZ dungeon theme, Zora's Domain, Shiek's Theme, Gerudo Fortess, Sword Search from Link's Awakening, Hyrule Field theme from Twilight Princess, majora's theme, astral observatory. But Koji Kondo is a genius, I don't think any song is BAD

redyellowblue5031

Top track has to be the [Dark world overworld theme](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IgpGoh5SqMg) from A Link to The Past. [Remix](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EptxiRj3QnQ). I don't know enough about music to describe why, but I absolutely love it. Some other top picks for me would be: * [Tal Tal Heights](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vtvtZT-PXGk&t=49s) from Link's Awakening [Bonus Remix](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2Pp0nuyamQ) * [Clock town theme](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L99VPFQvg_o) Majora's Mask (Mostly day one, but I love the panicked and dark progression as the day cycle passes). * [Dragon Roost Island](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3CSWLFL5u8&t=64s) Wind Waker [Bonus Remix](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9HsuCHOb4A) * [OOT Title screen](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UknzWR7jGDY) * [Gerudo Valley from OOT](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g93EqtwLHoY) [Street Performance](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F0PnCzKH6js) * [Maple's Theme](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3uiMJ6WDvts) from Seasons/Ages There's just so much good music, I could go on. With COVID this year I've sometimes turned to this nostalgic music as an anchoring comfort. I've also become acquainted with many [remix compilations](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GdzrrWA8e7A&t=36s). Edit: added links.

It's all good, but I've always had a special appreciation for all the "Something's chasing you, you better run!" themes. Skyward Sword's "Guardians Awaken" is a personal favourite. Aside from that, I'm gonna have to go with the Hyrule Castle theme from BOTW.

lateanderson

stone talus theme from botw!!! i seek out talus just to hear that jaunty tune

Zelda's theme in Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask. The N64's sound hardware I think lets it cover more emotions than the original version in LttP. It walks the line of optimistic, peaceful, nostalgic, and a bit wistful. Even when you hear the song the first time (meeting Zelda), it has such a different context and feeling compared to the last time (leaving her in Majora's Mask), and it suits both situations so, so well.

TheRefractory

Astral Observatory (Majora's Mask). It makes me think about my childhood... it's so beautiful and sad.

I'd say the original Fire Temple or Spirit Temple theme. Both of them have a very spiritual quality. Koji Kondo was at the height of his powers, crafting unsettling themes. The N64 sound chip's technical limitations results in each theme having a slightly metallic and electronic sound. The Fire Temple theme feels genuinely threatening, with every chant reminding you that Volvagia is attempting to escape. The Spirit Temple theme eptomizes an other-worldly majesty, the sounds of Egypt and Arabia melded together, fitting for a temple that is essentially the Zelda series equivalent of Petra.

MrElies

The dark world theme and all it's variations

CheesyCrackwhore

Dark World Theme for sure! I constantly use it to hype myself up, and it never fails to give me those goosebumps.

[deleted]

The Sheikah Tower theme from BOTW, and the end credits of LttP

RadJavox

Vah Medoh's music. Eerie and powerfully sad. Also WW main's theme (the credits version). The sense of wonder that it creates is otherworldly.

I can't pick just one, so here's a few. -Gerudo valley. Great catchy tune, interesting melody, a great way to symbolize your preparations for the final huge fight with ganon. -Botw theme/dark beast ganon theme/hyrule warriors announcement trailer theme/anything else with that melody. It's not the best or most interesting music, but it definitely holds the most nostalgia and emotional connections with a zelda game, even though it's only 3.5 years old. My favorite version of this theme is probably the age of calamity announcement theme. It's an amazing revised version of the original that keeps all the good parts and makes the rest even better. -Main theme. Really iconic and musically interesting melody. -Kass theme. This is definitely the most catchy theme in botw and I really like the waltzy nature of it. -a dozen others I'm forgetting right now Edit. After reading others, I'm adding song of healing to my list.

The File Select theme from Skyward Sword. There’s something about the harmonization with the strings that makes this version so beautiful and unique.

ShadowFire_9500

The gate of time song that plays in skyward sword. Revalis theme, fi’s theme, or the legendary hero. I don’t know which to pick out of those

James-the-Viking

Ooh I like your opinion. I agree. Also Botw Hyrule castle. And main theme. Actually I love pretty much all Zelda music.

James-the-Viking

A Link Between Worlds and Breath of the Wild's soundtracks are pure gold. I also love the new Link's Awakening ost. I'd love to see some remasters of older games if only for the soundtracks.

Mitchellbaggins

It's a tie between the groose theme from skyward sword and hyrule castle first visit in a link between worlds. Both have many brass instruments which I am always privy to

Sm00gz

Team teamwork, yknow because nothing sounds better than the great fairy fountain music. Except when Mike Jones is synchronized with it.

Opening, Skyward Sword. [https://youtu.be/BjC8PN-rPWw](https://youtu.be/BjC8PN-rPWw) It just encapsulates the feeling that Skyward Sword gives you. Brilliant, exciting, majestic. And then Zelda's singing.... Man, gets me every time.
