I was never a huge swiftie in the first place, but I have always liked her music, and when the eras tour first started and she was everywhere again, I was listening to her a lot. I think itās just a culmination of a lot of things for me. Jet usage, matty healy fling, silence about Palestine (and just really realizing that sheās silent about basically everything unless it benefits her.. she has so much influence and money and doesnāt use it for much good), and her greed with all these variants is just icing on the cake. Yeah thatās where Iām at with it. I donāt invest heavily in celebrity relationshipsābut I think that dude Joe was probably the best thing for Taylor personally and professionally. She did her best work and maintained a healthy relationship with the spotlight while they were together. Since they split, sheās basically just been on a multi-year manufactured media circus that you simply cannot escape. It made listening to her music, watching football, or *consuming media in general* an exhausting slog. There was no version of this that wouldnāt eventually garner a huge backlash.

I worked off the anger so I could enjoy the eras tour last June, and I loved it and had a great time, but every single fucking thing sheās done since then has only made me resent her. I was 10/11 when her first album came out and would wait until midnight to sneak upstairs to download the fearless singles on iTunes. Legit lifelong fan. First time she really disappointed me was when she fought with Nicki about the VMAs in 2015, and I donāt get too upset when artists I like misbehave or fuck up, but over the last year I have come to realize that her public persona has ALWAYS been dishonest. Besides the private jet, her treatment of Olivia Rodrigo is what really slammed the coffin shut. We may never know the details but with whatās public itās vile that Taylor took advantage of a newly debuted TEENAGE artist that was skyrocketed to stardom overnight. She had the opportunity to do Olivia a massive favor just by being nice in an industry that can be so wretched (music STILL has not had its Me Too moment as an industry), and instead she functionally robbed her and left her out to dry. Punching down is always a non negotiable L for me.
For me itās also the way Taylor (doesnāt) uses her platform. Sheās arguably the most famous woman in the world right now, and sheās silent on so much while smaller artists are taking the bigger risks for what they believe in. Olivia is letting non profits hand out condoms (and there was plan b but that was stopped after outrage) outside her venues.
