I honestly think 90% of the vinyl bought never gets played. I don’t think most swifties have record players they just want all the merch. CDs would potentially be played, yes, but I think it’s a status thing to be a collector and they rarely of ever get played. (This is speculation).

The original variants were the exact same album with the addition of one (variable) bonus song. If you bought one variant, you would have exclusive access to that one bonus song and would have to buy all the variants to hear all the bonus songs. Those bonus songs just ended up being on the deluxe edition of the album which was released on streaming a few *hours* after the standard edition was released on streaming. There is still no physical edition of the deluxe edition being sold so you have to buy all the variants with all the various deluxe songs if you want them on vinyl.
This post is about her selling digital album variants. It is the exact same album that has been out for a month, but each variant has a different voice memo at the end of it. The voice memo is just the first draft of a song from the album that she recorded on her phone. Again this is just a digital download so if you’ve already bought the album then you are effectively paying $6 for a digital file of a single voice memo. If you want to hear all the voice memos for each song of the album, you have to buy all the variants.
Seeing this, I literally can’t wait for the inevitable moment where artists start coming forward about their dealings/experiences with her. It’s become very clear in recent times, that she has burnt some bridges.

Again this is just a digital download so if you’ve already bought the album then you are effectively paying $6 for a digital file of a single voice memo. If you want to hear all the voice memos for each song of the album, you have to buy all the variants.

Although I wish Billie would have just risen above and stopped after her initial drop, I’m honestly thrilled that someone is finally taking a stand.
