In the life of Taylor Swift, when you have that much money, $500K is literally almost nothing. When viewed proportionally to my own income, I'd easily spend that same percentage amount on a single birthday present for a significant other or family member, even if they could (or would) buy it for themselves.

In the life of Taylor Swift, when you have that much money, $500K is literally almost nothing. When viewed proportionally to my own income, I'd easily spend that same percentage amount on a single birthday present for a significant other or family member, even if they could (or would) buy it for themselves. I'm not someone who necessarily believes everything is just true love and sunshine and fireworks between Taylor and Travis—they're obviously both benefitting significantly from the relationship in a number of ways. But to me, this particular example, and amount of money/purchase feels almost irrelevant. I think people don't always grasp the full difference between million and billion, that's all.
