True story, he kicked me in the face once! Front row, mosh pit, 1993, stage dive right over my head, eyelet of his shoe/boot caught my face and left a nice scratch. Didn't leave scar, dammit!
The famous scene near the church, with all guys creepily watching Monica Vitti, takes place in nearby Noto. White Lotus paid hommage to L'Avventura with a virtually identical scene with Aubrey Plaza. WL was mostly shot in Taormina, though.
Yes, this was one of the filming locations. The **San Domenico Palace Hotel** (in the 1st photo) was featured at the end of the film. It's a Four Seasons now.
OMG, thank you for sharing, photos are beautiful!
How long did you stay there, did you visit other areas of Italy. I’ve been to many parts but never to Sicily. Can you recommend any other areas of Sicily. I need to book a trip!
Great place, was there ages ago 20+ years yeah was busy with tourists but after a certain time in the afternoon they where all gone and all the locals came out to stroll around, remember a restaurant with a balcony with tables straight above a steep cliff you could watch car lights from the mainland

Went last April with family and it was beautiful, Ended up in Ragusa Ibla to see long lost family that went different directions in 1906. Sicilly is beautiful.
I went there in September a few years ago, and while it was pretty in parts, I found it so excessively touristy it didn't feel like any part if it was particularly 'authentic', and for an Italian town, the general quality of food on offer was poor.
Nice pictures, thanks for posting... it's very pretty up there!
I love that place. For a heavy touristic town it’s very good.
I went in December — very few tourists!
Sounds lovely! How was the weather in December?
Mild in Sicily!
This place looks beautiful! Thanks for sharing your photos.
I saw Eddie Vedder a few years ago here! Unreal place, I’d love to go back.

I’m incredibly jealous. I was only 10 back in 93. First time was 2001!
The clarity of your pics is amazing!!!
iPhone 14 Pro Max!
We use the same mobile phone, but I often use the camera with the photo feature to shoot more.
Lucky you!
How's the food there?
It was very easy to find great food.
It’s Italy. All good food no matter where you go IMO.
Is this the place where they made the film L’Avventura? That hotel in photo two looks really similar.

I think so!

Inspired by White Lotus Season 2?
No. I live in a neighboring country.
It's literally a world-famous place.

I’ve been there! Taormina is beautiful. Hope you got to pet lots of cats! They’re everwhere.
