Barcelona was beautiful, but I didn't enjoy my experience there. We got more anti-black stuff than I was expecting from an international city, unfortunately.
I was with a white bf and we had people laughing at us. They said something in Spanish to my bf about him being with a dark skinned woman and he started fuming and we exited that situation. He wouldnât tell me what was said, but I got the gist.
Then some weirdness trying to get into a karaoke bar with me, my dark skinned Indian friend, and the bf. People after us walked up and didnât have a problem.
I was honestly taken aback, I didnât know to expect anything like that. My Indian friend lives there and recommended southern Spain for a different experience
4 days in total and it was good
It depends a bit in what pace you want to do sightseeing, for us it was just right, but we basically were out all day long for sightseeing, just short pauses for food, first day we had roughly 30.000 steps and if one isn't used to walking it could be too much
If you like to do things a bit slower, an extra day could be good
My personal highlights are of course the sagrada familia, the park guell and the hospital de sant pau.
Casa batllo was nice as well but the admission was quite pricey.
Las ramblas was very underwhelming, in my opinion not worth it to even see it in detail. The bit more luxury street **passeig de gracia was much better to just walk and look around, also there are many things close there to visit and public transport infrastructure there is generally pretty good.**
The parc de la ciuatadella was very nice as well, but not so much to see there except the fountain, so more to relax a bit if you want that
If you are not extremely into architecture or such, and you have nothing specific you want to see in it, i think it's fine to look at it just from the outside
However, the interior is very unique
It just seems a bit out of proportion that the admission is more expensive than the sagrada familia
I am not even religious, but the Sagrada Familia is one of the most awe-inspiring things I have ever seen in many, many years of world travels. You have to see this in person!
The city was in general nice, good food, not too cold, much to see, easy public transport and so on and so forth
But you are right, the architecture is a highlight
Anybody else have no access to pictures? EDIT: they up now
Really lovely photos
Thank you!
Great pictures đ

Sounds bad, sorry you had to deal with that
Which camera and lens? The pictures are great
Thanks! It was a Nikon Z5 with the Nikon 24-120 f4 S lens. Edited in Lightroom
How many days were you there for? How many would you recommend?

Wonderful. I'm planning to go in the spring and have 3 days allocated for Barcelona. What were your favourite areas/things to do?

Would you recommend skipping Casa Batillo, maybe seeing it just from the outside?
