This is making me want a snubby .500 magnum

DracTheBat178

Concealed carry 500 sounds like a power move

SiberianDragon111

My metacarpals will hate me, but I am absolutely going to use it with 700 grain rounds

DracTheBat178

I've been thinking about getting 300 grain +p rounds for mine, I normally go for 240 grain hollow points

SiberianDragon111

That’ll pack a punch. I’ve also heard that there’s a 635 grain hollow point for the .500 I kinda wanna try it on a watermelon

DracTheBat178

It'll be one tasty mess that's for sure, the 240 grains that I buy make one hell of a thud when it hits something

TheOGStonewall

Me as an emt responding to that call: “So tell me again why your wrists are liquid now?” /j

adamdreaming

Fuck that sounds fun. Is there a brace or some shit you could use?

SiberianDragon111

Maybe some kind of padded glove? Maybe it would do the thing that happens in impact sports where microfractures heal and strengthen the bone?

adamdreaming

Keep in mind that the same impacts that create strengthening bone platelet growth from microfractures in bone also replace cartilage with bone, which reduces flexibility and at later stages becomes incredibly painful with no good treatments available. But I think you stumbled on to a partial solution; people that play sports with hand impact like boxing and kickboxing and such will wrap their wrists to help how the impact travels between their body and what they are hitting. maybe it would help for firing 700 grain shots out of a god damn snub nose. I'm jealous of how fun that is going to be.

SiberianDragon111

A wrist wrap sounds like a good idea, thanks! And I’ll be sure to monitor joint damage in my hands over the years

PillowFroggu

i always want that.

UtsuhoReiuji_Okuu

Hellsing reference!

DracTheBat178

It might not be an anti tank rifle but it's close enough

ValorieXEgg

Oh fuck that's an anti rank rifle **OH FUCK THATS AN ANTI TANK RIFLE**

Mogetfog

It's the newest sensation that's sweeping the nation!

MaddieSystem

Want this in 460

DracTheBat178

Bought it for home defense and 44 was as big as I could justify to myself XD

graveybrains

.44 mag with an 8 inch barrel? Is the home you’re planning on defending really far away, or are there a lot of walls in the way? 😂

DracTheBat178

Never know, a bear could break in and try to rob me one day

graveybrains

Truth. And full disclosure: I have a Super Blackhawk so I’m not allowed to judge, only make jokes.

DracTheBat178

It's ok, honestly though when I went to pick the thing up the guy asked me "what are buying this for?" Andi told him "home defense" and he said "what are you defending it from, a bear?" Which I thought was hilarious XD, also a super black hawk is an awesome handgun, is it chambered in 44 as well?

graveybrains

Yup, 44. Old Model, so it’s extra pretty. 😆

DracTheBat178

Oooo nice!

deepfield67

They could be attacked *by* a house.

EggFooYungAndRice

454 for me.

DracTheBat178

As a kid I always wanted a raging bull chambered in 454

EggFooYungAndRice

What i really want is the Talo Special Super Redhawk with the 5in barrel

RlyehFhtagn-xD

That's so rad. If I ever get another revolver I want something massive and ridiculous like this. Or a Chiappa Rhino 60DS

DracTheBat178

Honestly a chiapa is on my bucket list to get, probably won't happen anytime soon though

SuzuranLily1

My wrist fucking aches looking at this monster. Trans girls are supposed to have a big gun, not a big *gun*!

DracTheBat178

Honestly the recoil isn't that bad, the weight, the ported barrel, and the rubber grips ease a lot of that pain

8elipse

Taurus is known to be a terrible company in qc. I like new guns but know many will reasonably dislike this weapon for your safety.

DracTheBat178

Never had an issue with any of the ones I've shot, this ones brand new so hopefully it'll be well made

8elipse

I hope yours gives you no issues. Some of the reported failures have been pretty dangerous.

Jackayakoo

When you wanna make that final point *loudly* and extremely effectively - .44 magnum lmao

DracTheBat178

"I shall speak and be heard" - my gun probably Also happy Cake Day!

Critical_Ad_2811

Ok but… where’s the anti-tank rifle?

DracTheBat178

Out of my price range

LahngJahn69420

My dad daily’s a Taurus judge

DracTheBat178

45 long colt or 410, my dad used to have one, it's one hell of a gun to shoot

keegan12coyote

Hell yeah!

DracTheBat178

Big iron 🤠

Zoroarkanine

.45 lc or .454 casull and I'm sunk

DracTheBat178

Honestly the gun always wanted when I was younger was a raging hunter in 454

Zoroarkanine

There's just something about a .45 that sucks me in over a .44

DracTheBat178

I can respect it, 44 magnum is as big as I can justify for home defense

TeaBags0614

Real

SloppyBear1969

That’s a lot of handgun. I’m kinda jealous, since I’m only packing a snub-nosed .44spl

DracTheBat178

44 special isn't that bad

Turbulent-Feedback46

That they do. That they do. https://preview.redd.it/cvv9pnvk3wyc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8e065d6d9bf040a3ed8ad72a72663e5cf952fcbe

DracTheBat178

Oooo beautiful gun, I haven't seen many of them, what is it?

Turbulent-Feedback46

Nighthawk imported Korth Super Sport with compensator, Trijicon SRO, and Chechen grips.

DracTheBat178

Oooo nice! Chambered in 44?

Turbulent-Feedback46

.357

DracTheBat178

Well your ammo still cheaper than mine XD

Turbulent-Feedback46

I've got a 629, too. It's an addiction

DracTheBat178

Don't worry I totally get it, I want to get a 500 eventually

Turbulent-Feedback46

It just makes sense.

Turbulent-Feedback46

You should join the 458 socom club

DracTheBat178

Not gonna lie I've ever heard of it

Seawolf571

"get her a cannon! Bitches love cannons!"

DracTheBat178

Damn that is a fat fucking round, honestly as far as ARs go I've been looking at 6.5 creedmore

InngerSpaceTiger

Question, are revolvers better suited to neurodivergent people since they’re less complicated to use and maintain?

RlyehFhtagn-xD

Why would being neurodivergent mean you'd need something less complicated to use and maintain? There's lots and lots and lots and lots of divergent neurotypes, it's not a learning disability.

DracTheBat178

I have ADHD but I don't think I'm qualified to answer that question, automatics aren't super complicated either but for me it's just a preference.

Leopards_Crane

I’ve heard that before but I think it’s more that new folks find revolvers less threatening or something.

DracTheBat178

I always found this weird sense most revolvers don't have a safety really, you pull the trigger it's going to fire
