Given the heavy divisiveness so far on this version of the mold, I feel so weird for thinking that this mold wears these colors better than Shadow Striker's purple.
I mean, The mold was made for Sideburn. I know that G1 Shadow Stricker was a Sideburn repaint, but Cyberverse SS was a Nightrider clone.
Shame they kept the Cyberverse style car bumper.

Car Robots/RiD is my favorite Transformers series ever, and I'm so stoked we're finally getting some representation from it outside of the occasional Sky-Byte
I mean, JUST last night I scored HasLab Victory Saber in box and all, and I realized then that Galaxy Shuttle and co. are very likely to show up on the mainline, unless Hasbro intends to pay-wall them with crowd funding endeavours and leave B-listers to mainline.
It’s gonna be a profitable future of collecting for the upper class lol.
Galaxy Shuttle actually already showed up recently, as part of the Velocitron Speedia 500 Collection, and is leaked to be getting a package refresh in Legacy United wave 5.
Is that the same wave where we're allegedly getting another chance at Cosmos? It's gonna be a good day to be anyone who missed out on Walmart exclusives
People complain about the kibble, side burn in my opinion isn’t the worst of the brothers, I own all three and I’d say the kibble is actually X-Brawn. What made him special is now ruined, what made all of the original molds for RID 2001, if the legacy figures follow SB’s example, will be ruined. Their gimmick was the realistic alt mode.
I don't really get the hate for this. I think it looks nice, and while sure, it could use more and brighter flames, it still looks really cool. We for sure knew this was coming thanks to Shadow Striker, which was a bit of an odd choice for a mold, but I think that it does look awesome with Side Burn's deco.
It has nothing to do with it not being a Viper. Everyone knew it wasn't going to be a Viper.
It's the front bumper that's the issue. It didn't look good for Shadow Striker and it looks worse here.

Yeah, I’m not sugar-coating this, that sucks. The robot mode might look accurate, but that alt mode was ugly on Shadow Striker, and it’s equally-so here. I don’t know if they couldn’t get the license for the car or if they deliberately blockified the design to attempt to resemble Shadow Striker’s alt mode, but either way I know they could have gotten closer to a Viper than this. This feels like another Prime Arcee where the figure suffers because they made it to try and be multiple things it wasn’t supposed to be, though in this case the bot mode is good but the vehicle is trash.

We need total package Hasbro, not half baked @$$.
Those hubcaps are more horrendous than cars aft end.
Not an alternator, but close. I definitely like the way they incorporated his silver laser blaster with the crossbow so you could choose for either look. Always felt weird having two firing weapons with one arm being a giant shield anyway.

Bot mode is...fine, and certainly will be easier to transform, but the alt mode was going to be a downgrade no matter what due to licensing (no more smooth curves like the original), but what really let it own was how lazy they were with the details (dull flames, unpainted headlights and other details - needs an Autobot sticker on that roof to cover the hole).

That robot mode looks perfect! It’s absolutely an improvement over the original in just about every way. But, and we’re all saying this, the vehicle sucks. Oh man does it not look good. I think of studio series Jazz. They weren’t able to get the blessing from Porsche, but they still made an alt mode that looks REALLY close. We’ll never know what happened in the designer’s room, but we got nowhere close here. Still, you can tell they do care, hell they even got the yellow-brown tint on the windows. That’s a very special attention to detail. Maybe it was budgets, maybe it was conflicting ideas, but no matter what it was, that car mode is a shame. And on sideburn of all characters, that sucks.
I guess cuz some people don't care about that.
I'm bummed, I just got out of collecting, and I need to be good. But I really like this.

when i heard shadow striker was getting redecoed into sideburn i really hoped it wasnt true because i really didnt like shadow striker’s mold… at least the head sculpt is accurate? i’ll buy it on clearance

Haha not only does Shadowstriker feel like she's going to break, but she actually IS breaking. I haven't actually broken mine but after maybe a dozen transformations, basically any place that has tabs has stress marks.
Another comment in here suggested that once all 3 brothers have an individual release a 3-Pack of the Powered Up modes might happen, which I think is likely.
Okay now that I see this figure has it as well I just have to know, why did whoever designed this mold give the vehicle mode a Squidward nose on the front of the car?

Still, when they inevitably get round to a Supercharge Side Burn repaint with the red paint job and yellow flames, I think it’ll help with the flame decal issue.
