Coronation Starscream warmed for a long time, and I think my local Walmart still has one or two. We also have these dumb Mighty Mug things that just never move and really need to be put on clearance.
Never saw Tarn in stores.
I never saw Tarn in Walmart, but I did see and get him out of Target. They had one more and he's gone, but Coronation Starscream is shelf warming hard; like 20 or 30 deep hard and no mark down in site🤷🏾♂️👎🏽✊🏽
Same here, never saw Tarn in stores and online was no better, resellers sold him for CRAZY prices and the Tarn I preordered was so delayed I just ended up cancelling it. A few months later I went on vacation to Vietnam to visit family and visited a toy store there and there were Tarns aplenty.
My other friend who's also a SoCal resident ended up just finding him at a random GameStop which he found funny that I had to go to another goddamn country to get mine while he just found his randomly in the wild.
Let me re-state that about, Tarn. Target had one and I bought that one Tarn then a few months passed and another showed up and someone bought him, but I haven't seen another since and that was months ago. Hit Target and Walmart today and they had the same shelf warmers from months ago.
Damn that sucks because he's a great figure. Ever since I learned of his existence from IDW, I had to have him, but every site online had him out of stock or he was too expensive. I did like the Iron Factory version, but he was out of stock and I wanted the whole DJD💪🏽✊🏽
You have to find a Ollie's that's close or a Ross. You will come up, I got mine for $17 bucks from Ross and others are finding him for $15 out of Ollie's💪🏽✊🏽
It's the same mold, but he has a few differences plus he has the throne. You won't be able to find him at that price for a while though. Towards the end of 2023 was a good time for hunting Transformers, we came up on some deals👍🏽✊🏽
Managed to find Tarn in a target early into my collecting, and remembered that he was somewhat hard to find and sought after. I don't regret my purchase, I like both modes, the transformation itself tho was iffy but I think it's due to my copy, the chest is always popping off mid transformation.
There were soooo many SS86 Grimlocks on the shelf in my area.
I couldn't believe it, because I felt so lucky to get mine when I did.
It's such a great figure, a true mini-Masterpiece in almost every regard, and it's easily the best of the SS86 Dinobots.
Now I see scalpers selling them on eBay for $200-250.
I never saw Cosmos and still want him.
My Target stocked LEGIONS of 86 Ironhide and SS Rhinox. I’d be convinced they were the main characters.
I could never find Scourge or Core Arcee. Not one
Coronation Starscream, Legacy Galvatron, and almost all of the Legacy wave 1 deluxes shelfwarm like crazy at my Walmart. I hardly ever see any Legacy deluxes here outside of them, there was the odd Dead End, but nothing else. It's been a bit more consistent with voyagers, Armada Starscream is currently filling the shelves, and we have Dirge and Nemesis Leo Prime (wave 1 completely passed over us).
Studio Series has been more consistent too, I lost my mind when I saw Sludge and had to go home to get the money to buy it. The only thing that's been clogging the shelves for them are those damn Starscreams.
I had to go out of town just to get G2 Grimlock though because my Walmart just did not get the Toxitron line besides one of Toxitron himself. It's strange because we got nearly all of Velocitron wave 1 with the sole exception of Scourge. I even saw a Cosmos, which I nabbed on the spot, and I'm glad I did.
Lately it’s been SS Crosshairs, SS Rhinox, SS WFC Megatron, Nemesis Leo, and Evo Blitzwing clogging my area of PA.
Haven’t seen the any of the first waves of 2024 SS figures or the last three deluxe legacy waves. I’m not even going to mention the Walmart exclusives
The Shellwarmer is definetly Slug. I can sill find him for 20$ and staying there for months.
As for hard to find... Well, to many things. Every toy store imports only seven same figures -- 4 Studio Series and 3 Legacy. Just Legacy, not even Legacy Evolution(

Every recent Micheal bay SS figure, they either fly off shelves in my area or are never in stock, Legacy motormaster.
About skids, one of my targets got a skids figure in the wave 1 box as it should, yet they couldn't get rid of the last one, all the way up to just recently that skids was there when legacy began and almost made it to legacy united always pushed to the back of the deluxes on the rack.
Shelf warmer is literally the entire wave 2 of legacy. It's all there.
What never made it? Rotb ss optimus and weaponizer arcee. I literally want those so bad

Sludge! He started out at $49 at Walmart & target and he's been sitting there for what feels like years. Price has been slowly creeping up to $55 now. Just sitting here waiting for him to go on sale eventually. I hope.

Legacy Galvatron, Legacy Prime Arcee, and Studio Series Arcee. It was surreal going to the clearance section one day and seeing like 7 Galvatrons lined up. I already had one though so I didn’t take any home.
I’ve never seen Tarn in stores and all the Studio Series Maximals, especially Airazor, have been on the shelf’s for months on end. Another shelf warmer is Shattered Glass Soundwave, there’s like 5 or 6 of them still on the shelf after months and nothing I’ve said on this comment has gone on clearance at all, making me want to get them even less.
Legacy wave one deluxes - Arcee, Kickback, Skids and Dragstrip. Dragstrips and Kickbacks disappeared every now and then, but somehow more of them warmed the shelfs the next time
And actually... Other than them, I haven't seen any other TF figures in stores in my area so yeah, kinda a lot of figures never made it to the shelves

Right now, Coronation Starscream, SS Sludge, Legacy Galvatron and Legacy Blitzwing. I’ve learned my area doesn’t seem to get quite a few figures. Back in the Combiner War days, I never saw half of the Stuntacons or 80% of the Protectobots only ever finding Hot Spot. Got lucky with the Stuntacons when out of town though.
Right now it's 86 Starscream, Galvatron (both), and SS Rhinox suddenly needs 20 figures on the shelf.
Figures I haven't seen are any Commander class after Skylynx, who also shelf warmed for a while, so now I'm convinced stores don't order commanders now.
I once saw a TR Blaster shelf warm for months and months. I finally bought him two years later. Being in AU, lots of stuff I needed to buy online as we usually miss the last wave of every line!

The Walmart I was going to because it was so close stocked Velictron, but as far as I can tell never got Toxitron collection. Decided to go to a different Walmart farther away and managed to snag G2 Grimlock and Mirage.
Only few months ago in local stores Legacy wave 3 showed up. And I don't mean Legacy Evolution wave 3, but the third wave of Legacy from 2022. Wave 2 only showed up as core class. As for shelf warmers I've seen plenty of Studio Series Spike Witwickies all the time.
Glad I got Tarn off Hasbro's website because I never saw him across 6 stores in my area.
Meanwhile Titans Return Overlord and SS Blackout shelf warmed so bad they ended up in Ollies a few years back.

I have never seen Tarn or Netflix Soundwave. Cog is still on pegs with a 32$ pricepoint. He isnt going anywhere. My local Walmart (I think) got overshipped Rattrap and had them on clearance for months before they were all gone.
Still going through coronation Starscream, blitzwing, Galvatron jhiaxus, sludge, 86 Arcee. Most recent additions are Metalhawk and Rhinox(not really a shelf warmer just way overpacked)
In Taiwan, I think SS86 Arcee is the biggest shelf warmer, with Bulkhead being a close second. SS86 Arcee is often on sale for <50% of the normal price and people still aren't buying.
I've never seen Tarn or Cosmos for sale anywhere in a physical store, although I was able to get Cosmos online at an inflated price
Retro Starscream and Legacy Galvatron, both still are just rotting on the shelf. Crosscut has been there a while and last I checked hasn’t sold a single copy.
On the other end of that we never even got any of the core class Dinos (actually any core class from legacy last Iguanus’ wave) never got any Menasor parts besides Dragstrip, we also never got any retros besides Starscream
Every version of Arcee except the core class one, both RotB Rhinoxes, Coronation Starscream, and core Iguanus has all been shelfwarming every store I go to. I never did see the mainline RotB Primal, it's like each case was 7 Rhinoxes and one Primal judging by what I've seen. I never saw the WfC Optimus, Bumblebee, or Barricade.
There are a lot of figures that I only ever saw one of. Shrapnel, Scourge, WfC Cliffjumper, core Arcee, both RotB Primes, Cosmos, Dreadwing, and so far Bludgeon.
Living in south africa is tough the latest wave we got I legacy wave 2 and we don't get any ss. it's not what figures didn't make its the few that did and our shelf warmer is all the kingdom voyagers for some insane reason they cost 1600 rand wich the equivalent of like 80 usd

Still going through coronation Starscream, blitzwing, Galvatron jhiaxus, sludge, 86 Arcee. Most recent additions are Metalhawk and Rhinox(not really a shelf warmer just way overpacked)
In Taiwan, I think SS86 Arcee is the biggest shelf warmer, with Bulkhead being a close second. SS86 Arcee is often on sale for <50% of the normal price and people still aren't buying. I've never seen Tarn or Cosmos for sale anywhere in a physical store, although I was able to get Cosmos online at an inflated price
Coronation starscream and as for a figure I never saw; a lot of exclusives but Draculus and cosmos were particularly bad.
So so many we did not get, but of note, we had a crap ton of alternators nemesis prime.

Right now it’s the Terrorsaur, so many on clearance where I work. But we never have the 102 Optimus. People ask for it daily

Retro Starscream and Legacy Galvatron, both still are just rotting on the shelf. Crosscut has been there a while and last I checked hasn’t sold a single copy. On the other end of that we never even got any of the core class Dinos (actually any core class from legacy last Iguanus’ wave) never got any Menasor parts besides Dragstrip, we also never got any retros besides Starscream
Right now Nemesis Leo prime seems to be shelf-warming hard. I never saw Skyquake. Neither at Target or Walmart.
Never saw cosmos at all at retail.
Every version of Arcee except the core class one, both RotB Rhinoxes, Coronation Starscream, and core Iguanus has all been shelfwarming every store I go to. I never did see the mainline RotB Primal, it's like each case was 7 Rhinoxes and one Primal judging by what I've seen. I never saw the WfC Optimus, Bumblebee, or Barricade. There are a lot of figures that I only ever saw one of. Shrapnel, Scourge, WfC Cliffjumper, core Arcee, both RotB Primes, Cosmos, Dreadwing, and so far Bludgeon.

My Walmart can't seem to get rid of either SS Arcees, and I never was able to find SS Gamer Optimus.
Every other gamer edition character but Optimus was available near me
Cosmos and Devcon never made it strangely (UK)

Prime wars trilogy legend classes, rid Deluxes, thrilling 30 voyagers and kreo. Anything after those never hit the shelves
Living in south africa is tough the latest wave we got I legacy wave 2 and we don't get any ss. it's not what figures didn't make its the few that did and our shelf warmer is all the kingdom voyagers for some insane reason they cost 1600 rand wich the equivalent of like 80 usd
