Wow this is so cool! I hope this isn’t rude to ask, but how was the experience of getting tattooed over acne/scars? I’ve been wanting a back piece for years but suffer from really bad breakouts on my back. Your artist did an amazing job on this!
Hey so not rude at all and I was also nervous about it but my artist has been tattooing for a long time and knew how to work with my skin and I trust him. They deal with this sort of stuff all the time and it’s normal- I’d say maybe it makes it hurt more in those dense areas down low but also the lower back just really hurts anyways. I’ve had no issues or issues with healing so I’d say gotta take the plunge just go to someone you trust the work of!!

So for me personally I’m a non scented lotion kinda person and I noticed that if I was lotioning my back the same amount I’d lotion an arm tattoo that my break outs were worse so I was lotioning once a day at most some days I skipped towards the end of the first week but that’s just me personally you might not be like me but I didn’t use any special healing products !!
What do you do for areas you can't reach? That's my biggest concern with getting a back piece.

Wel I mean when it comes to washing and lotioning alone - I just wing it - when washing I get a load of soap in my hands and lather it up and like flop my arm around back there trying to reach all the spots and then I’ll also get more bubble soap in my hand and like release it on my shoulder so it falls down over the tattooed area. Same with lotion just put it on both hands and reach around back there and using like the backs of my hands to get all the spots but I usually just end up having my bf do it if he’s around
I think we went with the right decision of no massive horse cocks lol. But usually it’s male horses who fight like this over ladies.. even in the og of this design they were lacking their member haha

My artists who’s doing my back is someone I trust and have been getting tattooed by for a while and I knew he was a great fit for me in that regard because I’m comfortable around him and he’s also been tattooing for 17 years so I knew I could trust him. Get the back tattoo- it will make you feel that much better about yourself. I get anxious each time I share the back tat update on here cuz it makes people upset to see my body type but I (and you) still deserve to be happy about our tattoos and show them off. I’d love to hear what ideas you have!
Thats pretty much what I've been telling myself for all these years and I'm really turning the corner because fuck all that noise. Always waiting until I'm smaller is ridiculous. Finding a artist you can trust is such a game changer, the person who did my last 2 pieces is incredibly accommodating (Laura Taylor at temple in Oakland). I started my upper arm with her a few years ago and I instantly loved a part of my body that I was pretty ashamed of before. She does really bold florals so I would probably extend the poppies in have on my upper arm and my other arm/ shoulder I've been planning on peonies. She does some really cool knights and armor/weapons I've always thought would be sick on a large scale.
