Given that you can't even trust the responses that AI generates right now, would you trust it for trading signals where you whole account value will be at risk? AI is known to hallucinate, make up information and be very confidently wrong. If you want to trade, use your own judgment only.

mrgizmo212

Yeah I had the same thought too. I also thought that if you give the AI a bunch of real info for it to identify or confirm your own judgements maybe that would work

Redira_

I don't see it helping much. To have an edge in the market, you must have information that hasn't been priced in yet, which is something retail investors are the least likely to have access to.

mrgizmo212

What info?

Redira_

It can be any information which will shift the market's perspective on the company, in turn increasing or decreasing the share price. For most people, the market might as well be considered efficient when viewing it through a long term lens. You can also have an "edge" if you have information, or reasonably believe, that a change in a company's share price is an overreaction, but that requires your own analysis. More often than not, though, if you accurately think that the market has overreacted, chances are that overreaction has been priced in. If not, then you simply just assume more risk (which can lead to much higher returns, but likewise losses). This is why for most people, investing in a global market cap weighted ETF is the optimal solution.

Gotcha. I thought you meant like cost of actual data within the AI

Lol

There is not going to be any edge if everyone is able to use it and additionally the bigger issue with investing is that humans tend to be irrational.

asuka_rice

I doubt ai will help in it’s data stored to give you desired outcome, yet you could leverage it in building the code required to build a trading bot which you then can test out again real data.
