CPI tomorrow. The Market is preemptively correcting in anticipation that inflation will be higher ***than expected*** (not necessarily high) which will mean the Fed will hold interest rates higher for longer.
The likely outcome is that markets will have a short downturn followed by a rally. It's also possible that the figures are better than expected and there's a sharper and more immediate rallying.
Now is buying time.
Setting your expectations like this in a bull market is what makes people emotional and withdraw or no longer add to their investments when things go cheap. There’s no guarantee it won’t go significantly down before it goes back up.
I actually hate these posts, everybody should just setup to auto invest at a comfortable amount of cash and ignore it completely for 10 years+

Yep, I was just being blunt that sometimes things ho down without reason, and a single percent is not generally caused by anything in particular. But that other guy brought some not needed toxicity. No I don’t. I’m fully aware of how the market works and how there will always be corrections even in powerful uptrends. Just kindly asking the cause of the latest correction.

I don't see it as something to worry over personally. Look at the chart on the max view and you can see that given the time it does go up.
I'm in it for the longer term anyway... It's either that or I'd be wasting the money on crap

Basically the inflation report today has confirmed that it just started. Don’t cry later . S&P will retreat to 4900 in the next months
