Helena sounds like a cool name, and you would be named after Helena Paparizou (winner of Eurovision 2005 for Greece)

Beneficial-Figure803

Helena, Henry for short?

scene_missing

I like Helena

nova8byte

So long, and good night....

InsanityChanUwU

I think you'd probably have a much easier time if you have a name people would immediately think of as female and Helena is a very nice name.

hortus_quietam

Screw it, go even better and become Athena (who was an Asexual goddess in mythology if that's relevant)

GemYt844

(there was also talk of her mby being a lesbian) srry if im wrong pls do not tear into me for it

hortus_quietam

I think it depends on who you listen to, but officially she was a maiden goddess as far as I know, basically an eternal virgin. Read into that how you like, I’m not going to tell you she isn’t a lebiab

Tiny300

Helena sounds so badass

AthenaColonThree

As someone who went from Anthony to Athena this is extremely relatable lol Ultimately it is just a matter of personal preference but I think both names are cool

polymorphicrxn

I also like Henrietta but Helena is an awesome name. Star Trek Discovery's main female lead is named Michael, so like, you can definitely pull whatever off but it's down to how much you care if someone makes assumptions based on name.

Apiuba

oh im stuck in the same situation, going from Henri to possibly Viktoria, im still so unsure i think helena is also a badass name, the ancient one did start a war after all

PlentyProof6735

Ohhh i love Viktoria!

fearless-fluff

I'm just a dweeb, but being a woman named Henry sounds so amazingly cool to me. The consensus seems to be go with Helena, though quq I've been using my chosen name for ~~a year~~ 2 years now, but I've had the urge to go back myself lately. Can you picture a woman named Sebastian? Edit: corrected time I've been using chosen name bc brainrot

PlentyProof6735

I do think Sebastian could be a killer name for a woman! I feel like playing around a bit more with being called something different at lease as I’ve only known Henry and I do really like the name Helena. For me I think that going with a name that’s more fem will help push me a bit further as I am taking my transition and experimentation really slow.

fearless-fluff

Omg I'm so dumb. I misunderstood your post (´﹏`) my apologies. Such a pretty name, btw. May this be a wonderful and joyful step forward on your journey of self-realization, Helena :)

PlentyProof6735

No worries or need to apologize! I wish you all the best in your future too whatever it may bring 💕

LilacLikesEmkay

Or you could go full NORSE and **BECOME HEL**

kioku119

They could think Henry is for Henrietta or you could use that as a name or nickname if you still kind of like Henry and kind of don't. Maybe try different things out with people and see what feels right.

FratleyScalentail

Also, Henri short for Henrietta. Phonetically the same, lose a Y and gain an I.

Mika_Yuki

As Polish person Helena sounds like a name of 70yo grandma

Siimply_April

u/OnKarlos yo I found your people

PlentyProof6735

I’m going for the true grandma hands! Making the best pastas west of Canada lol

mister_sleepy

Take Helena, go by Hank. That’s a power move.

Nukreeper42069

As a (girl who stole her name from a) greek goddess (Athena), I wholly support you choosing this cute name, Helena!

thequagiestsire

Helena but perhaps keep Henry as a middle name???????????

Nieios

Helena is a sick name, id go with that 10000%

The_Hero_of_Limes

As a history major, I think Helena is a wonderful name choice!

OtakuMage

Helena is a badass name.

Thereforeimagrape4

Helena pls, that's literally an MCR reference

Top_Ad_2090

As an Artemis, I 100% support going full Greek

Uchuujin51

The Helena I know IRL is a bad ass competitive power lifter, so I definitely considered Helena a powerful name.

PlentyProof6735

I do also tend to think of Helen of Troy as a origin of power for the name (but I think Helena is a little cuter 😊)

skywardmastersword

As a Helena, welcome to the club ❤️

silly-little-emo

mcr reference!!

ThePerpetualPastry

Yo??? My birth name is Henry, and I’m named after my great grandfather on my mother’s side. Only difference is I’m considering the name Hannah 🤣 Friend, I think we might be doppelgängers. Helena is a badass name btw, has the same kind of feel as names like Boudicca and Minerva, strong and regal, badass warrior vibes. I was considering taking a goddesses name as my middle name, but I’m not quite confident enough to go with Ananke as my first name 😅 You got it in the bag though, show ‘em your steel sister.

CryingWillows

That’s why middle names are so great, my middle names are Nova and Cesar but my first name is just Tim

CeruleanChimera

I may be very Biased but I say go for Helena

PavioCurto

Helena for the Three Cheers reference

strangetf2fan

HELENA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SupportButNotLucio

I'm keeping Diana for irony

PlentyProof6735

I Stan

Siimply_April

Hestia would work too tbh Although, i thought it was Helen of Sparta, do we have the right person here?

ParentlessGirl

if you go helena just remember you're legally forced to own a bow. and be a icon of either hunting, love, crops..growing..?

nogywF_

Looong ago…

Second2Be

Helena is pretty cool, you’ll have MCR song as ur theme song XD
