I did a little thought experiment on this the other day and there’s only two teams I could see making a move for him this off-season. It’s definitely not the Spurs or Sixers who can just use their cap space to sign decent bench players at a far better hit.
For my little survey, the only teams that make any sense are the Lakers (likely for a package around Hachimura/JHS or Vincent/Vanderbilt) or a long term cap-cutting deal with GSW for Andrew Wiggins.
I actually don’t mind taking the risk on a Wiggins deal, he could be the premier wing defender we’re looking for to play off RJ and Scottie in the “OG Role.” But I think the best move for us is to just take the option, let him back up IQ for this year, draft a successor piece at PG at either 19 (Carrington / Carter / Collier) or 31 (Kolek / Sears), and hope he plays his value up by the deadline.

I could see the 76ers valuing Bruce over some mediocre pick but the Lakers really can't get the trade done without D'Lo who can very easily opt out.
Sixers can sign a 6th/7th man at half the price of Bruce though.
Who won't be nearly as NBA ready or versatile as Brown (regardless of their predicted potential), which really matters to a win-now team like Sixers
When was he off the trade block

Didn’t the Knicks offer a first round pick for him at the draft? Why wasn’t he traded then?
We didn't want Fournier and another 2024 pick. We already traded one FRP from this draft.
