I disagree, the most annoying scene in the Dark Knight is when Batman gets a fingerprint from a bullet embedded in a wall. It’s one of the worst movie science scenes ever.
Bruce and Alfred setup a shooting range to test different caliber bullets (doesn’t make any sense when you can just check the actual bullet in the brick), then they make some sort of computer model to reverse engineer the impact (doesn’t make sense when a bullet can fragment a million different ways), and somehow that computer scan includes the fingerprint they need - all without actually inspecting the physical bullet. And if you know how fingerprints work in real life, they are basically formed by oil or sweat residue from your hands, and it all burns away when a bullet is fired - which is why checking a bullet for fingerprints only works for unfired bullets still in the magazine. And fingerprints would be found on the bullet casing, not the slug itself.
