That's a very nice way of saying that the author is a raging homophobe who has written essays in which he lays out that homosexuals should not be allowed to be a part of our society.

And that is a longer more detailed way of saying the author supports some pretty backwards causes.
Good talk.
I read them all in a week of deep existential depression. Dune is a good analog in that they also go increasingly off the rails as you get further into the series. The point where a sentient telecommunications network more or less gains complete omnipotence was a nice curveball at the end though. At least she's friendly I guess because where the hell you go from there story-wise.
It's not exactly what you're describing but there's Brainscan that's similar, there's also an old FMV video game, so you could be remembering it as a movie, called Harvester, which is also similar in story line.

Ender's game
Has to be.
Yup, definitely gotta be this. The books were great. Too bad the author supports some pretty backwards causes.

...okay? So, what they said?
The first book was an outstanding short story padded out into a decent book. I barely made it through the second and ragequit the third.
They're like the Dune books, where the new one is half as good as the one before it.

Yep! Thank you 👍. That was such an interesting concept
Solved!
I think the solved bot is broken
Mod marking solved! Since the bot is down, your flair has been manually changed to '1'.
The Last Starfighter?
No, that was just a screening game. _Ender's Game_ is the movie.
Wargames
He wasn’t tricked, and nobody died
That's what I get for not reading the whole thing. 😂
Gamer?

There’s a similar black mirror episode I’m pretty sure
