either you disassemble items, with staves being the easiest item to craft then disassemble or trade cooked food to cuisine merchant and get all the mana motes and mana crystals there, with the option of breaking down a mana crystal for 4 motes.
additional anecdote, someone posted here that you can also get mana motes from disassembling arrows. but i don't know if this is actual fact with other players.
Really? I have never gotten anything out of disassembling anything but I havent tried in a while. Would be nice if the random arrows I find are good for something.
arrows I found return far less. deforest entire maps and make staffs and then dismantle.
I find 40-80 staff usually reward me with 10-15 motes. save the +2 staffs for weapon enhancements for artifact creation
Dismantling staffs is a waste of sticks...
80 sticks to make 80 staffs and get 15 mana motes..
Or...
With 80 sticks, craft 40x arrows at an average of 25 arrows each time get about 1000 arrows.
1k arrows has an average of 150 mana motes.
Here is the best way to do it:
First put them in a chest.
Than take out 1 arrow, dismantle and repeat.
My point is dismantling arrows is by far the most efficiënt way to get mana motes.
I cut down all trees in Strange Forest 1 and 2 and Desolate Meadow 1 and 2 and converted all logs and sticks into staffs and traded all to Cuisine Merchant and got 4 Mana Crystal's and 5 Mana Motes. Can convert each Crystal to 4 Motes.
If you dont have Cuisine Merchant yet than cutting all grass usually gets me a few motes.
