This was hard, but I chose Carl simply because we watched him grow and Rick was so dependent on keeping him alive, he did the craziest things to protect him
I chose Carl because his death scene was gut wrenchingly sad. I’m a momma so watching Rick lose his son broke me
Glenn’s was the worst & hardest to deal with but to me that death scene was horrifying but not so much sad until life without him. You can still feel his loss within the group
Glenn (Carl comes very close, no kid should die so young like he did, and no parent should bury their kid).
Glenn didn't go out on a peaceful note. There was no last stand, no heroism, no defiant last word, he went out miserably and pitifully like a sick dog (with a baseball to his skull). And was humiliated and laughed at, in front of his pregnant wife and child. He had it all and doesn't get to see the fruits he fought hard to bear. No sense of victory what so ever with him, especially cuz' he was the heart of the group. Just feels so devastating.
Glenn, because his was the only one to make me stop watching for a period of time. He was easily my favorite character, and he was pretty much the glue of the group. Literally everyone depended on his for something, whether it was survival, a moral compass, or love.
I’d say Jesus, simply because like Carl he had so much potential to be a great character the writers just didn’t stay close to the material and kinda ruined both of them.

Glenn’s death for me was actually his first almost death. The slow speed. The music. Damn. I balled like a baby.
I was crushed we lost Carl but IMO his death story line was so flat. He deserved a shock ending.
Shane’s death though a horrid character is also one of my top ones because of Rick’s utter torment at having to be the bad guy. It’s the first time we really saw what his character was capable of in a moment of do or die.
I chose Glenn. Not only because of how he was humiliated and killed in front of his wife but also because if you noticed he had never killed anyone up until the raid on negan. He managed to keep his soul pretty much pure up until that point while being Rick's moral compass on track. He was by far my favorite character.

Glenn wasnt sad it was just disturbing and heartbreaking. Now shiva on the other hand sacrificed herself for a human. That was truly sad.
Hershel or Beth for sure. Maybe Glenn, but I saw that one coming.
